i love the color scheme, good alternative to DFI :up:

yup guys its built by DFI for Sapphire, exact same board just different colors to some components.

Early whispers are that this board is a monster overclocker ;)

It could be simply a move to save development costs. Sapphire is a fairly small outfit....

what the :confused: so we might pay less for the Sapphire (as it's the "lower" brand), but get the same mainboard? count me in xD

what do you think? will the BIOS be made by Sapphire?

Not 100% shure ofc but asfar as i know this DFi design aint the reference design.
To start of with the DFI (and now also the Sapphire) are the only ones using digital PWMs, If the reference design had them i bet more partners would use em.
And i doubt that DFI would use the reference design for their Lanparty boards cause the reference design is what the smaller board makers use and DFI always wants to offer more then that.

I guess Sapphire wanted to save money and DFi was willing to sell the design to Sapphire cause they got something better coming?

Monster overclocker board needs stronger overclocker CPUs... Are you saying that those whispers mean Phenon FX will be great overclockers?! :rolleyes:

So if the Sapphire and DFI boards are the same but with different colors, could we flash the bios of the cheaper sapphire to a DFI bios? :)

itll probably be identical bios wise.

i think thats the saphire board meaing the bios screens form that article are what the dfi bios should look like. they claim its a reference board... does that mean dfi is selling us a reference board?

Sapphire is just a front for PC Partner and that is NOT a small outfit. Among other things Sapphire makes (and has been making) ALL the "made by ATI" video boards and ALL the ATI reference design motherboards. Just take a look at the www.sapphiretech.com front page and you will see the links to the only two remnants of the ATI brand (ATI Japan and ATI Professional Workstation Graphics). These two brands are still selling the "Made by ATI" cards, but now it is clear that they are made by Sapphire.

Hmmm... I wish... In Japan, Sapphire boards are usually the MOST expensive. (DFI - JPY22.000, Sapphire equivalent JPY30.000) :(

Yeah, but they couldn't OC worth a :banana::banana::banana::banana:.

I like the colour scheme better for the Sapphire for some reason, and since it's basically the DFI board, it'll be awesome :D

the biggest problem sapphire boards had in the past was that they where too hard to find in retail....

yep, same as the p35, you can see the port where it plugs in between the pair of pci slots.

I don't think th ething between the PCI slots is a Karajan dock as the print on the PCB says "front audio"...:rolleyes:

With K8 cpu's I presume? I bet a Black Edition A64 would do well on this board.

It looks like a good product, but it needs a high performing CPU to go with it dont you think? Let's hope Phenom will go up with leaps like most AMD cpu's in the past.
