I love layout! it's excellent. I hope that all mobo manufacturers will use this design for sAM2+ mobos based on nV's HT3 chipsets like 780a:

nice pic
Its funny cause Nvidia makes some GREAT AMD boards, in fact, probably far better than Intel boards. Great layout, and my god, no need for huge cooling besides one fan. Might be a cool running Nvidia board for once...
lol @ sata port near pci-x1
looks like it would be pretty easy to insulate for subzero due to plenty of space with little obstacles... lets just pray that phenom doesnt have coldbug....
i'll take 2 :D
Still a bodged solution for PCI-E 2.0.
Come on nVidia...get a move on with the integration!
Wheres the CPU plug?
Those S-ATA ports are a bit random
Do we still need those serial ports in the I/O? relegate them to a PCI backplate, if not removed totally...its the end of 2007!
PCI-E power: Up to 450W (37.5A on the 12V rail) will be drawn through the PCI-E slots themselves....is ALL of that coming from the ATX plug- I dont see any additional power plugs.
the layout isnt without issues, but I like it :yepp:
what I hate, if it's right, that the small heatsink indicates the same bridge chip as the Intel 780i mobo has
Is that a D-sub and a DVI connector on the backplate?
Is this then really the 780a?
Also, with nvidia's tradition, that chipset-cooler will be too hot and too loud.
Me thinks it´s a preview board, and a budget one with integrated, and sli like the 550sli...
I agree, awesome layout. I hope Phenom is worth buying though.
I got 3 Asus sitting near me..:P
So much tidy hardware, then PCI ruins the party.........
why does it have dvi and vga out?
Nice caps and inductors
I really like the layout too :)
someone is gonna be really mad.
Placement of the DIMMs I don't like.
They are rubycons, you won't have to worry about those going bad on you.
It looks OK but they still have the NB at the end of the PCIe slots with a whiny little fan  Geez, put the ram slots to the right of the CPU socket like normal and then put the chipset between the CPU and the top PCIe x16 slot. My board is like that and it works great.
I like their AMD 7xx chipset based board better. Yes has heatpipes but I don't mind them any.
I like the layout.
I kind of wish all boards used the sideways SATA ports like this board.
Are they sure it's 780a SLI? It's got onboard graphics :shakes: (see VGA and DVI connectors on I/O panel)
Haven't heard anything about this lately....
Hopefully that chipset won't be there on the final, like the DFI Ultra-D.. pathetic location that is a problem due to the Vcard actually hitting it.
I want to see this compare to the 790 series..
How is that a good layout?? And its ugly and plain as hell, and looks really cheap.
That socket is bare.. wish my Intel boards were like that, would make insulating a cakewalk.
nVIDIA isn't inclined to move too fast on this board. They are spending their time on the 780i, etc. I imagine they will come out with it in the February-March time frame...
Edit: that said, this is a reference board, sold by eVGA and others. While eVGA has great RMA and customer service, the bios and driver support hasn't been fabulous for the 590 series, and I imagine that has more to do with nVIDA than anyone else. Wait for the custom solutions, when they arrive...
hmmm i think it was atis idea to use hybrid cf
Both will use hybrid graphics, but ATI's won't have the ability to switch off the VGA til April.
Looks like Nvidia really liked the layout of the DFI NF4 eXpert eh?
I think its a terrible layout, random sata ports everywhere, poor NB placement and only double spaced pcie slots. It also seems like the ram will run hotter (if only by a bit) because its right above the cpu socket.
overall its a big thumbs down from me.
theres loadsa group of sata at the back of the bored next to ide cable slot ..
I think it's a nice board Very good layout, if you have money for TRI sli then you obv will have money for WCooling anyways, and also So clear near Processor = love for the EXTREME OC'ers :D
im liking this
Here is another Phenom mobo with similar layout, but with AMD 770 chipset:

Now, could someone translate article about this mobo:
