What language is this?, Swedish?....can anyone translate. The layout and general design looks exactly the same as the X38 models. In fact the X48 chipset is supposed to the simply binned higher, for speed. I'd say the only real differences is in bios and outer box, i doubr any new features or revisions to the PCB have been made compared to the X38 models...but we'll soon see.
it's Turkish .... http://www.nordichardware.com/news,6966.html

but, it is going to be a while before the X48 is available in the USA.
here is a quote that i found:
http://www.tcmagazine.com/comments.p...&highlight=x48Quote:
The X48-DQ6 has 'official' support for the 1600 MHz FSB and should arrive by the end of the year.
Gigabyte makes the ugliest boards i have ever seen.....besides the x38 gigabyte i had, had issues, why would this be any better,
Maybe they're pulling an Asus: Using the X38 filler board to debug. Figure out the problems, tweak, drop in the X48, and PROFIT.
Yikes, what do you people think?
1.Keep the X38-DQ6 and have poor (Max 1100mhz) memoryperformance while using 4 slots and be mad over that.
2.Keep the order of ASUS Maximus Formula SE since that board seems to have better memoryperformace while using 4 slots.
3.Wait and keep the hope up for better memoryperformace for 4 slotusage on the X48-DQ6 since that board supose to be DDR2 and at the same time loose the opertunity to get the limited edition of the Formula SE?
iunno why but i think teh gigabyte color scheme looks like candy colors. iunno, but i think it looks cool
this board should be sweet as :D
When it comes out,
yeah it will take a little while yet
:)
Richard were you surprised they will have the X48
i mean you would have heard about it and all sure little confusing why you'll peeved there heh
in regards to color, how long do you gazed at a motherboard?
According to several German & Austrian shops it will be available on the 19th of november..
http://www.heise.de/preisvergleich/a293290.html
Hmmm...box appears to say DDR2.
But this one is faster - The other X48 - :D
It is just faster, over one tenth of a second in SP 1M for one, 3DMark01 is over 43 points higher, so imagine how much faster real world applications would run, just boggles the mind. Until the BIOS's are tuned, there is not a real difference yet between the two chipsets besides "official" 1600FSB support.
I wish I could have been there but my daughter is undergoing treatment for cancer at this time and that is only the tip of the iceberg for what has happened to the family these past four months. :(
really sorry to hear that
i hope the kid pulls through
i have a couple of little ones and i know it would be really hard to see them going through all that after seeing my old man fight it for 3 years :(
Time bump this thread:
http://www.anandtech.com/mb/showdoc.aspx?i=3189
my max OC with QX9650 is only 460MHz FSB ... and very bad RAM timings ... on Asus Maximus Extreme i can use CL7 at 1800MHz, on this Giga board is stable 1800MHz only at CL9!
Added a few pics of the X48T-DQ6:
More pics here:

I count 36 fins on the NB heatsink, my count must have been off as i thought i saw 30 fins. The X38 models only have 22 fins....so it's much larger.
Gonna get my new rig up and running very soon. Anyone started to play with this mobo yet?
New X48-DQ6 review:

wasup, here another review ...
from overclockbench:
Code:http://www.ocworkbench.com/2008/gigabyte/GA-X48T-DQ6/g1a.htm
http://img187.imageshack.us/img187/8...0643c55bc1.jpg
this mobo have this on back, what happen with the coolers that use a backplate like tuniq, true and others
I got a Gigabyte, not just THIS one in perticular... but almost every gigabyte gas this backplate, and i can by NO MEANS mount a backplate on this, and i CANT remove it either couse then the NB cooling wont sit tight... maybe u can put a nut there? wth i didnt care about that and mounted the bolts to my block with some paper washers, i've allways used backplate but not this time...havent noticed any crashes couse of this... well well....
dont like gigabyte :)
My X48T-DQ6 sample did very good, especially in memory overclocking.
Amazingly it surpassed my best shots taken with my "lucky - great MCH" P5K3 Deluxe.
p.s. Review link ( click me )
That's a specific BIOS version issue.
They had a similar "death version" BIOS release for the X48T-DQ6 as well :D
It happens though...not only with Gigabyte ;)
I don't know about their older models, but there are two bolts within the package to secure the NorthBridge cooler without using the Crazy Cool backplate.
really... hmmm .. :) didnt think of that actually ..NOW u say it hehe...just when im about the change board , ah well.. now i know MAYBE til another gigabyte, dunno when though :)
cheers!
My x48-DQ6 arrived this week and now under Water Pics i will post tomorrow ;)

Hi
Just Got my X48-DQ6, In the past I've had good luck with gigabyte compared to asus, NOT THIS TIME!!
out of the box my motherboard is reboting all the time, I had used it inittially with Q9300 and i failed to get my board to post, so i used an older cpu, and it did post so i went back to the Q9300 and it worked i installed windows but after some time while i was restaring it went into continuos rebooting again
I tried to update the bios but i could see no new releases
so is my board defictive or what??
Thanks
Use your old CPU to flash to this BIOS version ( Click to download ), and try again.Quote:

i'm very indecided between x48 and 780i:(
if anyone wants to share this board experiences in DDR3 flavor, i am just setting up shop at this link over in Intel Info and Support sub forum:
http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...d.php?t=181752
Just a quistion:
gigabyte lists only one Bios for the X48-DQ6 "F6" !
On Station drivers they have a "F6b"
which is newer??
F6 is newer, F6b is beta....updated Realtek 8111B/C LAN drivers, March 26th:
http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/...&GetDown=false
Typo...GB use letters to denote beta releases, so F6b/c/d/e etc are betas.
So F6 is currently the latest bios for the X48-DQ6!
the X48 (non-T) overclocks quite bad,
don't know what the X48-T will do.
Still Ken, Rapidshare it!
5 months later finally @ retail
will give the x48T a try
Yep it's been a whileQuote:

Hi Richard,
you may get the F7a bios from Victor's site:
http://bbs.unihw.com/thread-1774-1-1.html
Hi guys, i have just bought x48 dq6 yestrday! Great! nicely running @ 450x8 and mem 800@1066 2.2 volts!
I'm from Maximus formula and i can even reach 1000mhz memory clock on it, the same memory.
Just some question: there are some hidden bios menu like others Giga?
Is there a way to decrease system fan speen by bios ( eg 80% 70% like in asus ? )
i keep followind this thread:)
Is the X48 boards using the new ITE Super I/O, IT8720F...or is it IT8718F?
http://www.clubedohardware.com.br/fu...hp?image=19665
It's darn easy to find out
p.s. What do you think is so interesting about the IT8720F ? :p:

Thinking of putting a NB waterblock on the X48T anyone got any idea of decent blocks ??
You can choose the Mips X38/X48 NB Block.
I have got made from two guys in Germany special Blocks
http://www.hardware.feichti.com/gfx/...48-dq6-024.jpg http://www.hardware.feichti.com/gfx/...48-dq6-025.jpg
Feichti
Hi Feichti,
Thanks:up: Have you got a link or contact please would be interested in the NB and perhaps the pwm block as well.Quote:

you must love it , if you have to clear cmos with that rig
thanks again :)
I got a quick question about these boards. Can the backplate be removed easily? Does it come with an alternate mounting kit using nuts and bolts?
Thanks.
For the Mips you can order them directly from MIPS Computer
http://www.mips-computer.de/
for NB you can choose the part MCH025 or MCH1025
for SB you can choose the part MCH026 or MCH1026
for PWM you can choose the part MCH148 or MCH1148
But if you want them to change it to Watercooled i would change all three ot them not only the NB. How you want to cool then the SB and the PWM?
CMOS reset is no probleme because i have made an extension ;)
Yes thats right. Its easy to remove the crazycool backplate. There are also A little New Backplate for the NB and two screews.
Feichti
Not Realy ;)
In the big loop with the two GPUS and the CPU and the two radis i have got with one Laing Ultra about 185-200 Liter per hour. With Masterkleer 15,9/11,1mm tupe
in the little loop with the NB/SB/PWN/Ram and the Second CPU cooler for my secend mobo in the Case and one Radi i have got about 110-120 Liter per hour with 10/8mm innovatek tupe and Tygon R3603 11/8mm mixed.
Feichti
Well it is a very nice looking rig Feichti

how much id vdroop on you x48 dq6 ? bios/win and win/full load
Bios templates for Gigabyte X48 see links 10 & 11 here Gigabyte GA X48T DQ6 & Gigabyte GA X48T DQ6 Have added base voltages as best I have them , please advise if you reckon them different.
luck:)
Huge vdrop here 0.075 !! isn't that too much ? on my asus is 0.02 /0.03
Loadline enabled! bios f7b
the only thing you want to be concerned with is idle vcore and then load vore...what is set in the bios and what is displayed in PC Health section is not droop...it is a calibration problem with the bios code...i have about 0.04 difference between set bios vcore and what bios PC Health says is my current vcore...PC Health is not reporting the vcore accurately...even CpuZ vcore readout is not accurate as i read it from my DMM on the X48 board....AND...don't count on 'Easy Tune 5 Pro" PC Health readout.
EDIT:...the Gigabyte X48 board has about the same difference in loadline calibration as your asus...i think i measure about 0.020 to 0.025 difference between idle and load.
i can't understand :
i have drop between bios set, and prime full load with cpuz, is the cpuz reading faulty ? i set 1.4125 in bios and in idle cpuz signs 1.376 and under prime 1.344!
Is a loadline calibration problem? or is it the mobo that has a lot of vdrop ?
anyway i'm sure i need 1.3280 for rock solid @ 3400mhz under load, cause it was with pk5-e.. i have to set 1.4125 now in bios that after drop is equal or more 1.3280 and i'm stable, if i set 1.38xx the drop is lower 1.328 and i get errors..i see the drop is real
As Ace said CPU-z isn't accurate, In particular with vcore >1.40v
I find everest is about the most consistent it's ties back pretty closely to multi meter readings i've taken, though can't confirm it on this board yet.
Vdroop difference Idle to load is normally 0.03~0.04v with loadline enabled that reduces to around 0.02v as Aces's figures bear out.
The figures really mirror that of the Asus boards.
Vdroop also grows as vcore is increased.
luck:)
infact with load line vcore differences between idle/full is 0.032.
I can't understand why i have to set 1.4125 in bios while on asus 1.35 (1.328 full)
WORD OF ADVISE
DON'T use the X48-DQ6 (DDR2) with 4GB of ram and A Q9XXX, it gave me all sort of trouble, updating to latest Beta bios (F7B) did not solve a thing !
I finally got my board stable by removing a stick (crucial pc-8500) for a total of 3 GB!!
I use the GigaByte GA-X48-DS5 motherboard with 4x1GB DDR2 1066 from Kingston and Q9450 without troubles. However I wonder if this S3 bug also affects this board.
I have not found further info about it.
yes, but Vcore fine-tuning is always wellcome;)
the "problem" is not the offset, but how well loadline calibration work
http://img238.imageshack.us/img238/7...enormalrr5.jpg
i'm sure in next bios it would be better.
Great motherboard anyway, the best for X48.
anybody tried the F5a bios for x48t dq6?
No Where's that ??Quote:
