Exactly, I'm very curious to see what the chips say on them and what these sticks are capable of on average. I wouldn't doubt if they were a higher bin than standard PC2-6400 Ballistix, but I have no info to back that up.Quote:

Edit: Just realized that it's a Newegg only special edition. Still it's a very tempting price. It would be even better when considering the strong EURO at the moment. Anyway. A shame that I won't be able to get some, but there's enough of ordinary Crucial RAm available here. And honestly I don't even need any RAM ATM. But who cares what you need or don't need. I would definately want to have some. :D

I can't believe that these are anything but regular 6400s with a newegg logo on the spreaders...a little marketing agreement between Crucial and Newegg, but nothing else.
Check out the specs and you'll see tha they are the same as every other 6400.

Okay I got mine today. i'm playing with them right now. So far so good. I was testing quick memtest runs of test 5 and seeing when it would error out. i got up to DDR2 1270. at 2.4vdimm 5-5-5-15. I'm maxing out the nb voltage. Its helping to keep the mem stable. i'll post some screens

i would say its pretty typical of D9 in general and definitely typical of Ballistix. i have had two pairs of tracers and two sets of non-tracer PC2-8500 Ballistix along with a single kit of PC2-5300 non-tracers and all of them did about what your kit is putting up in my P5B-Dlx. some were a little bit better, some not quite as good but all within 10MHz at most voltage/timing combos.Quote:

I haven't had any new kits in a while. Maybe the newer D9 is getting better and this is typical for newer kits? All my kits are at least 6 months old. I suicide ran from 838MHz on my RAM to 1005MHz (430 above stock) just to see what they could do. Ran them without a fan on them for a couple days, then a fan for 2 days, then back to stock, and thats what killed one.

Depending on which way you go, the regulars are either $20, $30 or $50 less than the LanFest 6400s (at $50 it starts to become a big difference). There is also supposed to be another 5% off coupon available from Buy.com, that I saw in another thread, but I haven't found it yet. Anyone seen it?
Without the extra VISA $30 discount, then the diff can be as small as only $20 which is not too much for a little bling, uniqueness and perhaps equal or better performance.

Mine are coming on Wednesday this week. Probably just normal ballistix. A new set of those is exciting for me considering I just got in the ddr2 game. First sticks were corsair 6400. I did no research on those and it turned out they sucked.
I have some Corsair XMS2 and yes, I was dissapointed too.
As soon as I get paid, Ill be getting some Ballistix DDR2-800's with the rebate.

I think that is in line with the regular 6400s, as well.

Also I will be perfoming the heat pipe mod using mx-2 so things will change a bit. Once I get this stuff up and running I'll push the ram further. I dont want to push any more in this setup as you can see in the screens I'm running a little hot at low volts.
