Kudo's to you for that one. Playing with the BIG boys!
can u snag some xs members passes i live rite across the bay
ooo... i might be able to come :D just got to get the $$$ :p:
congratulatios!!!
Could someone please give a quick description of IDF?
cool be sure to take some pictures and come back and show us

otellini better gift u an 8core.. or two.. what do they call those..
Be careful it doesnt BSOD under the speech :p:
I got a pass offered from two people, One at Intel and another at an attending company, So chances are I'll be there. :D
Penryn (Yorkfield)? Do you allready have one? :D
Yeah Fugger !
Can you reveal what'll be your setup ?
X48 / Penryn / DDR3 / Crossfire ? :D
That's pretty sweet, have fun and hopefully you get a good chip too :)
Well its not DDR2 nor QX6850. I upgraded up from that last month.
I will be running a retail production sample board unmodded.
I will give more details tomorrow.
Fugger knows the friggin' numbers.. Share! Share! Share! :D
that's why the sig was saying,
Gamer rig under NDA
:D
Good luck and have fun :)
Just make sure not to crash or else it'll show up in Hector Ruiz's keynote :p:
Great stuff though  Looking forward to seeing how much weight you've gained over the summer
Perkam
Fugger: You need to change your sig to:
Where no man has gone before!:D
Is it sad that I'm hyped up for IDF?
I'm actually excited for IDF this year :D
Very cool! :toast:
Hopefully this means you are playing with a 45mm Penryn as we speak!
I wish I could attend that speech and presentation. :yepp:
Good luck, FUGGER! :)
My demo has been moved center stage, I am a guest speaker.
Many problems atm, -20c cold bug combined with the max 1.2v core limits my OC to no more than 33% OC. That and the old problem of cores locking up is making it near impossible to get a single bench done.
So much for 6-7GHz on LN2... :(
I hope you find a better chip out there.
FUGGER im curious to know what kind of educational background you have, im currently in computer systems tech i was wondering what kinda classes i should be taking to get to this status that you have :p
-20C coldbug makes benching cheaper ;) Just put the rad in salt ice water and thats it :P
Power consumption should be low as well with juust 1.2V. :)
wow...imagine intel develops a coldbug and amd fixes theirs....the tables will turn so fast it'd makes ones head spin
is that motherboard related (the 1.2v), or is it a limitation of the cpu? if it is motherboard related, maybe you can pull some strings and get a quick bios fix... you could probably get the 33% oc with just air cooling? i wanna think that a 33% oc is still in the 4.0-4.3 ghz range?... i know you cant answer that yet.
with only 1.2v i bet you could get the same oc on air?
OH NO!@#@ THE DEMO IS A DISASTER!#! CHILDREN EVERYWHERE WILL CRY!@!!
Sorry, I'll get a hold of myself. Good luck getting it all sorted out Charles. ;)
1.2v Wtf?
It's 45nm. So 1.2V is like 1.35V on 65nm. With that voltage you can get good results on air. You better wear a mask Fugger, in case people point fingers at you and start laughing.
Nah, I have faith that Charles will put on a good show.
Reading that I wonder what the stock voltage of those 45nm CPUs will be... Anyone?
Hope your gonna kick someone's butt about the coldbug before the day.
If they don't get it fixed take your old gear and show 'em it beats the new stuff :D
If it does that is :p:
You know that Intel does not develope new CPUs with priority to the coldbug, right? I am pretty sure most people at Intel don't even know what the coldbug is. Have a look what Intel writes about the operating temperature of C2Ds. I am almost certain, it doesn't say -130 to 50C ;)
Some other reports of 45nm chips report a -80C bug and very limited overclocks. Still dont forget these are still super early samples.
Kick some Intel Arse.
"To go where no man has gone before." Now this is very intriguing. :scope:
The low end models oc over a GHz on stock vcore, so I wouldnt call that bad. Thats more than a 50% OC.
Stock vcore on some C2Ds is 1.25V btw. That depends on the CPU and mainboard used.
Let's just say that I think we will all be very pleasantly surprised!:wasntme:
Damm Motherboard, Kinc dosent have problems with the X38 from Asus. So yours must be Intel :(
Using heaters ?
Lets just hope it is the motherboard :) Yorksfield likes cold :)
We dident have any problems either on single stage.
it's probably an Abit X38...
Or maybe X48..????
well i would think itwould be an intel board. 1.2v?stock thats insane
have fun fug
Probably Intel Bad-Axe 3 benching! :D
I'll rent out a couple of cruise america RV's. rollin down with xs with class:D
Last night one of my main cpu died and my backup cpu is worse.
These are so fragile, two dead so far.
condensation killed em?
I guess early steppings are really fragile... you should take care of those babies :D or at least send them to me, I'll take care of them
Oh wait, my bad.
They love the voltage and they love the cold. I was confused by the question...
Thats a typo. My bad again. No CPU have been harmed and Team Japan would need more than 6Ghz to catch me.Quote:
Last night one of my main cpu died and my backup cpu is worse.
HAHAHA...priceless. :D
nice :D
fugger stop :banana::banana::banana: teasing and tell us where the REAL cold bug is
-20C/-80C or better
:D
Whoops, another typo.
Its not 6Ghz, I really meant 6.2Ghz if they plan to pass me.
Low 8s for 1M I'm guessing? Not a bad start :D
You bad boy. I'll accuse you of running an old Netburst P4 hence the nice MHz numbers just to get revenge on what you just did.
Have fun and I hope things go smoothly.
6.2GHz eh on early steppings. Pretty impressive, I guess that's the difference between the halfniums and the halfnium nots.
Regards
Andy
whoops another typo... it's a phenom
humm I see later revisions scaling about as high as cedar mill then...
