0_0 , someone has gone with my approach to quantity of fans in one case ;>
I'm planning to get me some V1000 series when i'l have some funds.

That what i'm working on mine to look like when i get my lian li v2000b+
Those cases are amazing. I saw people actually fit their phase change at the bottom. My jaw dropped when I saw this was possible http://img169.imageshack.us/img169/1369/v2000cl1.jpg
This site seems to show you all about the case :D

looking good baron! Are installing watercooling at all?If i remove the hd racks do you think i could fit 2 x triple rads down there.Similar style to what vadim does with the double and the triple on top?I don't have a huge enermax so i'm hoping it will fit
cheers
It'd really depend on your PSU. And even if the PSU is short you'd have to make sure all the cables came out on the other side so it wouldn't interfere with the bottom radiator.
I'm going to say if you have a small enough PSU that'd actually fit in there you probably don't have a system that requires a pair of 3x120mm radiators. But I still want to see it done. :)
I went simple and put one on top, outside the case, here's some old shots.

Forgive the mess, that was the first time I used watercooling and I had to route all kinds of extensions to get power to everything that needed it. I'm still using the case but no longer using watercooling now, so I have three intakes on top. Keeps everything quite cool in there.
It looks like the PSU I used at the time (PC Power & Cooling 510 ASL) would fit with a 3x120 rad in there, judging by the length of the bracket it's sitting on.
i have a thermaltake 850w which is probably the smallest 850w out there dimension wise.As far as i know that is.....Quote:

I do know it's going to be a very tight fit
cheers
where is the best place to pick up one of these v2000?
I believe the v2x00's are much cheaper elsewhere. I saw the v2100 at the egg for about 350, and I saw it at performance-pcs for about 275.
here are some:
http://www.pbase.com/grinchy247/sigma_17-70&page=4
pages 4,5 & 6 all have some pics....
Thanks guys. I will have to order it, no one around here was anything that nice.
looking good^^^^ WAIT A SECOND IS THAT A THERMALTAKE WATERCOOLING KIT OH OH YOUR IN TROUBLE.......................
man these case are so awsome!!! I can't wait till my next pay check to get rid of my crappy P180. :p
Quick question i have a thermaltake toughpower 850w psu and the cables for the psu are relatively short. When the psu is sitting on the lowest section on the case can the cables reach the mobo, hard drives, disc drives and vga's??? without extensions
cheers fellaz
we are talking about V1000 or V2000 series ?
if its V1000 then the cables will be long enough
if its V2000 then the power cables should be just about to reach the mobo, BUT i don't know about the other types of mobo with strange power plugs placements , i would suggest to measure the power cables and check with the dimensions of the V1000 or V2000, or alternatively someone with that case could check if for you. :]
v2000 series. Does anyone here have a thermaltake toughpower and a v2000?
If so can you post pics or let me know if it reaches from the bottom section.
cheers
anyone out there?
you can invert the psu plate on the v2000 which puts the psu directly under the divider.
Pretty cases! Is there room to put cables behind the board plate?
thank youQuote:

Here's my contribution to this thread :)

There's not room behind the motherboard to coil up extra unused leads but there's room to route all the motherboard cabling. I've fitted all the board connections to come through cuts behind the board in the smallest of the V- series cases. There's 10mm of space behind.
looks very nice rick_fx only thing i don't like is the un-sleeved psu cable's sleeving them or investing in a modular psu would clean up the case very nicely.Besides that looks awesome!!!
Yes i assume it would. but splitting into 2 loops with give the most benefit.Quote:
All that with only one pump? and a D5? Wouldn't a DDC be better with the restriction 3 rads and 4 blocks will give? Shouldn't it use more than one pump?
By the way that's not my pc....
cheers

Still waiting for some parts to tidy things up
yes, what you basically need to do is make a cut on the horizontal divider (that splits between MB tray area and the lower PSU and HDD cage area) and then also make some cuts on the MB tray or at the edge of the tray such that there is more clearance.
i've been able to fit my 24 pin and all my other cables behind the mb tray.
hmm... sorry i've got no pics...

nice stuff !!! im in the process of finishing my v2000 around 70% complete
I really like the way that 343 (is that the model?) fan grille blends in with the perf'ed front, very nice. Any thoughts on spray painting the inside framework black and maybe add those Lian-Li DVD bay covers? Or is the framework only visible in flash photography? I really like those cases, really searching for a reason to have 2 computers to make use of that pile of 'extra' parts...if I find one, the V-series is on the top of the list for a home for those.
Some nice rigs here... ive often considered grabbing a Lian Li... may well be my next case (between that and a Mountain Mods - depends on how much cash i have really!).
Geez, this thread soooo tempts me into buying a v2000b, if only I had the money....:(
Hey kinghong, what size of tubing are you using? Nice setup btw.
where im at the moment very messy still waiting on a hd cage an other stuff

stop being a tease and post more pictures!
the pic above is the only 1 i have worth posting atm
i have to get a good pic tomorrow when i can get some decent light in the room. check my sig for the comp specs and water specs. i spent the whole weekend getting the water cooling set up and it's soo worth it!
Here's mine. LianLi V2000, Vapo and water cooled. Even this case is not big enough to hold all the components I wanted in.
@ terente0081
Very Nice :)

That's gotta be the best v2000 i've ever seen.Very well done. Can you post some more internal pics without the door both sides please.
cheers
For those who have cut holes in their case for cable management
Did you have to take all the inside out, and then replace/re-rivet it all again?
if you take literally everything out... i guess you can keep the inside cleaner
vs leaving it on and having to remove he bits that come off when your dremeling
Greaet build terenti. I love the clean look. ;). Is that a matrix orbital display? Suites the case.
I know its just a v1000 but its my baby. The v series Lian Li just rock. Please excuse the fan cable for the video card waiting for my panaflo replacement.
Unbelievably cool these rigs look guys. So much prettier than my wee Stacker. :D
My last V1000.

did you sand and polish the metal divider? Looks sick mirror finish. If so how long and how much of a pain in the bum was it to do.I Wanna do the same thing in my v2000b.Ne guides on how to do it?
cheers
Yes i sand and polished it. It wasn't very hard just time consuming.
I started with 1000 grit, then moved to 1500 grit, then 2000. This takes 4-5 hours to get it smooth enough. Always wetsand and make sure the paper is clean/changed often. After all that then I used 3M rubbing compound to fininsh it off.
Very very nice - excellent cable management!! How/where did you tuck the PSU cables, I didn't realize there's room behind the motherboard tray? What sound dampening material are you using, did you find it made a noticeable difference considering the vent holes all over?
Thanks
The sound dampening stuff was from performance PC (Noise Pax Sound Dampening Material) the sound dampening abilities was really just a side benefit.. My main goal was to cover up those holes to give it a cleaner appearance, I never ran it without the stuff so I'm unsure how much difference it makes.
Here is a couple shots of the cable management on the backside of the case. Hehe just noticed a cable I should zip tie... :)
it's so clean he must of cut into the mobo or something my v2000 isn't half as clean as his.Quote:
I think the same, can you post more pics and specificacions about your systems.
Thanks a lot

disruptfam - Nice rig mate. Im thinking of getting a V2000b and want to put a tripple rad in the bottom like you have. However, from the pics ive seen there are no vents at on the side of the case to draw air through... can you confirm this is the case? Did u bother adding any in yourself?
Also, i see you have two loops - in an ideal world I would like to do this... its not clear from your pic where the what or where the 2nd rad is?
Few pics of my V1200. The V2000 seems to be more popular.

Anybody having problems with the rail that holds the sides of the case on vibrating and producing noise? I am experiencing this with a V2000B. I have an eheim 1250 in the bottom which is bolted down through a pad of neoprene and a bunch of 120mm fans...
Well atm i have no doors on my v2000,i'm in the process of cutting them and putting moder's mesh for airflow.Quote:

I have two slimline triple rads in the bottom section. Originally had two larger triple rads would not fit.So i squeezed two smaller 3x rads.I had to sacrafice performance to fit both of them in... But i'm very happy with my project...

Thanks for the info. Looks v.good. In terms of fitting the modders mesh, thats pretty much what I was considering. Just abit bothered about cutting into the side panels of a brand new lian li! What are you using to cut it? A dremmel or do u have better tools?
When its all done would be good to see the final thing!
jigsaw with metal cutting blade and dremel to clean the edges...... should be finished soon
cheers
@Dark Prodigy
nice unit.
What aditive do you use? and you polish the base of your lianli
Thanks. By additive I believe you mean my coolant right..? I use VooDoo Blue SupercoolantŪ. I lucked up and obtained some from a friend of mine that owns a few watercooled VooDoo PC's. Voodoo only gives its coolant out to registered customers for maintenance - he had a few bottles laying around and gave me a couple.
And yes I polished the divider plate of my V1200.
Whats the difference between the v2000"a" and the v2000"b" ?
Amazing looking cases, I love the mirror finish on that v1. Now i must convince myself I dont need another case... :)
just pulled the trigger on a v2000AplusII with window.
i hope $300 worth of case gets me a lot.
It's worth it imho
can you post some pics to show the front of the bay resevoirs?
which are they?
i am looking to buy one of these two

but i can't find out what are their differences
there the xspc acrylic res's or Clear Bay Reservoir with Blue LED - 5.25" on the overclock site

you know you could have better temps if the top 120mm cooler would blow air INTO the case and not OUT of the case. At least it had that effect on mine 8800GTS ;]
Excellent thread...I ordered a V1200B Plus case...this thread just gave me a bunch of ideas as to how I want it to look when done...great work everyone...hopefully more people will continue to contribute to this.
If anyone is interested, HardOCP had a dedicated thread to Lian-Li cases too and there is a lot of good work done there as well.
Karateo,
pull some of your cables behind the MB tray and to the other side of the case... clean up some cables...
and if you are going to put it on top of your dresser like that, remove the wheels for more stability...
it looks like you just got hit by an earthquake...
Very good , care for no drop the pc
hmm , i have mine V1000B sitting on the ground beside the desk , but i have the "break" set to off and the "rubber protection bands" on the wells , looks like it will not slide away when you have them on ect. Anyway a good clean cable management is a must in this case ;D , i must make some time to use the dremel to mod mod mod
