Layout seems OK...the thing I noticed immediately was that it uses a smaller PCB than usual, like the GA 965P DS3 rev 1.0. No mention of RAID though...and how the hell does it have digital PWM? I see 4 phase analog PWMs... :confused: . Doesn't have 100% solid caps either, although this shouldn't be too much of an issue.

Would look much better with a black PCB. Will be interesting to see how it performs. I'm guessing under £100 (and around $170ish in the US)

Price is set for ~$160

Raid is from the Intel chipset, there is no seperate 2nd controller like on the LP.

Bios is different than LP because of the different hardware, but the PDF says "excellent overclocking ability", and it will have decent overclocking features in it.

Availibility is set for end of August (probably the same as the LP).

...and that's all I know. :)

Oh wait, PCB is 305x215mm, 4 layer, and red (in case you are blind).

I don't know what's up with the PWM. I'm just copying/pasting the PDF marketing material. :)

That is definitely 4-phase analog, and thank god because 4-phases digital would certainly cripple it's cpu overclocking abilities even more so.

Did anyone else notice that it's only a 4-layer PCB, as opposed to the 6-layer we find it most enthusiast boards? This may be the first Infinity series board that actually resembles it's 'value-minded' nomenclature.

The Infinity Dark is 4-layer. Heck, the only Infinity that I know is 6-layer is the 975x, bu that itsself is a high-end chipset.

Actually, this looks darn close to the revamp of the dark's features, minus the 4x slot and a few part changes (lan chip, caps, apparently PWM).

Looks very nip and tuck, but that's fine with me if it performs well...Just wish it had a 4x slot. That's kinda lame. :(

I remember some people dissing the std green pcb of the 975 Inf - well, IMO it's
still better than this one... also, I would've liked to see a ×16/×4 PCI-e slot
instead of 2 ×1s... well, I'm going to wait for pcie2 boards anyway.

Bleh, uglier than I thought it would be. Not a huge fan of the red white and blue scheme. I think I definitely prefer the 975X's std. green.

That said, I'd consider it if it clocks well and offers decent performance per clock. Especially now that I know the LP is $300, that's a tad heavy for my wallet.

Not bad layout (no heatpipes! :D), but I would prefer to have more space around CPU area for insulation. It's clear board on the pictures has 4-phase analog PWM, but maybe the final rev will be changed? and also only 4-layer PCB? a little bit strange.

Blood iron? There's nothing wrong with my blood iron...

Very ugly board :shakes: Damn. I'll have to spend a lot of cash on the LanParty P35:( They should have made it like the Dark. :shakes:

In the 975x Infinity that I am sending back to the egg today their brilliant manual has BIOS screenshots of an overclocking recovery option - which is absent in the actual board. My NForce4 Infinity SLI was a major BIOS disaster, so I remain skeptical.

In any case, when's the Lanparty P35 coming?

Don't talk shi+ about the blood iron 'till we see some results. This could be an awesome board for the price.

You spend more based on looks? If the performance is right around what a LP can do but $100 cheaper, you wouldn't do it as long as it's red? :P

Looks cheap, bet it will preform like any other MB around the same pricing range. Nothing special..

While performance is a "preferable" quality with which to choose a MB, the volume of choices for Intel right now, including solid performing products has been rather large. If, for example, I believe the yellow ASUS boards to be revolting, I am not forced to buy them as there are other MBs of a different color that will perform just as well in the same price range, etc. Yay for the ability to be picky :).

The one between the PCI slots looks like a :bannana:

It seems there is an EZ Cmos Clear type of jumper near the I/O part of the board if you look close enough. At least that's what I think it'd be. Kind of funny it's a jumper and not a switch though

I haven't sayd i spend more on looks but for me that an important thing to. I like the lanparty boards so much and i was hopping this infinity to have at least black PCB... but it came out to be very ugly. :( (maybe just my opinion). I could buy abit IP35 for almost the same amount of money.

Anyway i have one question: Is it worth to buy a p35 based motherboard instead of the infinity dark? I wont buy a quad core. I'm interested in spi performmance clock per clock. :confused:

Actually the DFI NFII Infinity was the first Infinity board to have CMOS reloaded.

I like the color scheme its the original infinity color scheme and its kind of cool they are going back to it.

I wish they would have used black PCB as well. As far as CMOS reloaded. I never need it. I have always managed to remember the settings used for my overclocks.

There is no reason to continue using a jumper to clear the CMOS. Even cheap HP computers that we use at work have a CMOS clear 'button'. :rolleyes:

Regardless. This will be my choice for P35 if it's performance is up to par.

Agreed...Although there are a lot of damn good budget mobos under $160. Hell, there are good non-budget p35 mobos for under $160.

I also just noticed the fact that the NB cooler is attached via push pins instead of the crappy hook design. :clap: This was not the case on the P965.:shakes:

I think it looks fine. Would have been nice to have some sinks on the v-regs though.

looks perfect. i dont need frills and features; just reliability and overclocking. Hopefully it delivers on that front too - though knowing DFI they wont want to compete with thier high end product making this board a loser before it hits the market.

I miss the days of the NFII infinity when they would have a significantly lower end product with performance of the higher end one; just less features.

And whos idea was blue ram slots on the red PCB? did they just have extraslying around lol.
