as u may see, Crossfire is more efficiency than SLI.

in 3Dmark06, CPU score is much more higher with nv-card than ati-card :(

p5k platform, will test later, but i dont think 16x+4x is better than 8x+8x.

vic really nice run , the canyon on ure run is good how did u do that ?
we had a large frame drop , about the cpu score .
with 4.6ghz i hitted 68++ easy . the score is really tripping some times .
looking fwd for drivers that will enable overclocking in CF
but why the cpu score is higher with nv card than ati, also driver related ?

Did a quick test on ASUS P5W DH with a QX6700 cooled by a E6600 boxed cooler :) So limited cpu speed. I'm using 8.37 downloaded from ati.com.

Try overclocking in Vista...API should allow for independant clock control, don't think XP does...I cannot get same function we talked about yesterday in XP, Kinc.

hiya kinc what volts were you using on the qx6700 over 3588 on mine it just locks in the first cpu test about 10 frames in can do the other tests at about 100mhz higher than that but any higher in cpu test and it just freezes about 10 frames in
Thats the thing... after nvidia's 158 driver they figured out a way of making the CPU score much higher than it should be, when in reality CPU score should only change with a different CPU...
I hope they get CF ocing working soon.......

in fact, 8.37.4 & 8.38, about the same performance.
both ccc cannot work properly, automatically shutdown and restart ag. and ag.
the only ccc i can use now is 8.36.1
975x's overall performance is better than RD600 (cpu/ram), but for vga card, i'll choose RD600.
will compare with asus P5K-dlx when i back from work.

overclock cards 1st > each card seperate in amd gpu clock tool,
set clocks for each device seperately verify both cards new clocks changed then > enable Crossfire after both cards clocks are set to new changes....

Only ran it thru once today - cascade 2nd stage failed 3 secs before GT3 was finished :D I was lucky to get a score at all.

Before this run I was testing how clocking the cards in CrossFire mode would improve the scores. Just running thru the HDR1 test of 3DMark06 (Canyon Flight) to get a quick idea.

by default (743/828) it would score 90FPS (Fillrate = 15727 / 23461)
Its almost 1:1 scaling with GFX clocks in this particular test.
Nice one macci, 3 sec to spare is funny--but not for your cascade. Do you also see memory clocks over 1K will result in lower overall test results regardless of mhz?
At least the 3DM2001 Nature and fillrates were scaling nicely from 990 to 1010 with the default BIOS (even though the timings are auto-adjusted at 1GHz). I got the best score so far at 1143MHz memory clock for that benchmark.
Could be different in 3DMark06 and 05 though - need to do more testing.
There is a fairly big drop in performance when you pass 833MHz Memclk. Memory timings are automatically adjusted @714, @833, @909 and @1000. The change @833 seems to give the biggest performance impact.
The test runs @950/980 have a custom VBIOS which keeps the memtimings at default ("714MHz timings"). It takes around 900MHz with these timings to match the default timings @980MHz.

When i am opening the Catalyst Center in disappears and appears on the screen for 1 second, every 20 seconds.

damn i wish i new how to hack the bios.... i'm getting a pityful 15000-16000 in 3dmark06 in crossfire... also the amd overclock tool wouldnt let me clock both cards... so i selected same clocks for both cards and overclocked the one card... scores havnt changed unfortunatly... so i'm thinking that i would need to bump up my cpu clocks to at least 3.7 to get a score any where near decent.... also i gained over 100points in 3dmark06 when i upped the pcie bus to 120.... ;)
Can anyone of you guys with a card confirm that the things that we are seeing in some reviews are true. That overclocking this card gives barely gives any more FPS in games?

guys, im in the exact same boat, ive been banging my head against the wall for a week. my number one card goes into 3d clock speeds just fine, i can even over clock it in overdrive just fine but the number two card seems to stay at 2d clock speeds all the time according to amdclocktool. im not sure, it could just be the amd clock tool displaying the wrong info because when i alt and tab out of a game and look at the temp page of the amdclocktool it indicates both devices at 3d clock speeds but i still have one card much hotter than the other.Quote:
