First DDR3 WorkStation Motherboard , ASUS P5K64 WS FSB 500 Test(56K Warning)
-
Always got something goodASUS to show Andre, huh ? :D
Can we have some BIOS shots ?
Thanks a lot m8 ;)
-
really like to see how kentsfield perform on this mobo..
how they divide the bandwidth for each pcie? same as P5W64 pro?
-
It's impoprtant to note that the P5K WS will NOT have 4 pci-e slots, but 2 pci-e and 2 pci-x.
-
Hi,
How fast is single instance of 32M @ 3.6Ghz and ram > 600? 3.6 is a sweet spot to compare :)
-
-
so it does 500 fsb in the box? out the box? or in the lab?
-
Thank you so much andre
And nice photos as usual (used different camera??)
Been waiting for this WS series since p35 boards released
Thanks again

I love this mobo :slobber:

-
are the 4 PCIe 16x linked 16x ? or 1 16x and others 4x ?
-
can you please tell about PCIE lanes, does CF work with 8x/8x?
-
I'd also like to know about the pci-express lines in this board.
-
i love the placement of all of the sata, power connectors and headers. right on the edge like that will help with wire managment
-
Damn, that's a sweet mobo. :slobber:

There'll be better board than this?
I just put up my board for sale too
-
off topic here
but what HD is that?
nice board again, although the stock cooling looks really lacking, but again this is more of a workstation platform, most people in that area wont be overclocking.
really diggin the orange and black. Halloween themes rock on MOBO~S

I guess so, previous asus's WS mobos was with 955X and 975x, which will be replaced by X38

hmmm the dual 32M doesn't seem that fast like the single result you had recently Andre............
it would be nice if you could run a 3.6GHz run as kiwi asked to compare speed

WD360 on google tells me that it is a 10,000 RPM Western Digital Raptor 36GB. Everyone always forgets the google.

Looks nice. I would be tempted if it had 8 SATA ports, but with 6 it is just another 6 SATA port board for me :(

DDR3 1333 CL 6-7-6-20 is faster than DDR2 1200 5-5-5-15 and DDR3 1333 CL6 1.5V is easier than DDR2 1200 CL5.

P35 is 16X+4X, so this mobo is 16X+4X+4X+4X.

This mobo is es, but I think P35 FSB 500 is so easy.

That's what the PCI-X slots are for. ;)
-
I think it would be better to wait for the P5K64 WS "Professional" Edition.

That's dissappointing :( I need a second 8X slot for my areca controller. Any idea when the P5K WS will be released? I have one system running on a P5WDG2 Pro and the other on a P5W64 Pro, both using areca. My cpus ran much better on a P5B so I'm looking to move into this new chipset.
-
Is there any chance of using ddr2 on this mobo?
I need this mobo with ddr2 support!

i doubt so.. the DDR2 version is the P5K WS.
but for X38, i think there's the P5E3 board which supports DDR2
-
Areca runs in x4 electrical, the slot needs to be x8 physical at least (or x16 which it is here). Bandwidth wise you won't benefit from x8 electrical, since the card can't do over 1GB/s anyway.
