when you are drilling on the P180 you should drill the 1 inch hole then use a dremel to feather the plastic part of the hole a bit more so that the fillport can sit more flush with the top of the case. i used this technique on my p180 and it came out flawless ;)


BTW the PA looks great, excellent design of brackets, makes a rad box look like a child's toy.

20 KOhm VR for VDDR mod
500 Ohm VR for VGPU mod

If you are willing to mod, then you can tuck away some wires.

Ahh.. Okay. I got some engraving bits too.

Do you got any pictures of it?

you can see my terrible drilling job (tape covering scratches) but the engraving is decent, you can't see any of those rough edges once the fill port is in.

Yeah just spray 2-3 coats, then its as good as Powder Coat, not as good but it wil do the job for u :). I will do the same with my stacker.

Oh.. the color on the inside top of the Swiftech GTX is going to fade and there'll be some black dye coming off. Not to worry. Its perfectly normal. No, the top of the Apogee GTX is not made of delrin, but those who are scared of any use of aluminum are foolish because the plating is of considerable quality. Don't even think of painting anything on the inside of the block. You will wreck the highest performing water block in the market.

Okay. it's just some kind of plastic.

I won't paint the inside of the block. I know that wouldn't be smart :)

Now there is a new update again.

I also just won the eVGA stepup contest.

That means i can stepup from my 8800GTS to a 8800Ultra by paying the price difference. I can't decide if i should take the offer. Guess it depends on how much eVGA want me to pay.

And the Ultra cards is so damn long. It will ruin my plan of where to place the reservoir.

Ultra IMHO isn't worth the money specially if ur GTS is 640mb version

Do you get to keep your GTX?? Sell the Ultra on!

I have thought of that. And i think ill try to guide the exhaust air with a fan to test if it makes any differense temperature wise. If not then ill just leave it as it is.

I think they calculate if from how much you gave for the GTX.

They told me to send my invoice and then they would reply with a price.

But my card is not a eVGA card its an Inno3D.

I can only upgrade mine because i won a competetion, so the procedure might be different.

A question. When this die starts to fade will it discolour the water in the loop.

I would not think so.

When i was changing to the larger O-ring i used some grease to install it. I then used some alcohol to remove the grease afterwards and i noticed some black color on the towel i was using. So maybe if you wipe it with alcohol before use you avoid the fading of the dye?

If these bother you, get a soft toothbrush, and scrub the dye off b4 you drop it into the loop. that silver underside is nickle plate.

And you guys should really listen to iany. He and nikhsub are probably the only people i can think of on this forum whose had the block b4 i did. I was part of the review that went on this forum.

But YES it does come off, that was done on dual DDC-2. I have a RD-30 now, and i scrubed the dye off, with a soft toothbrush. And it comes out very easily with warm water.

He made them at work and powedercoated them there as well

you put near boiling water into the rad and shake it around, do NOT put your rad in a tub of boiling water or your fins are screwed.

It was a Thermalright LGA775 Bolt Through kit. It fits on all blocks but it required some drilling on the holes to get the mounting screws through the holes

As i got a new motherboard and a new cpu than i used with my old system i can't really compare the two.

Right now my E6420 is running 3.6 GHz at 1.49 Volts

Personally I would have placed the pump under the reservoir and used the bottom thread as outlet for the pump...
But that is just a minor thing :)

That was actually also the plan. But due to wrong messurements of where to place the fillport the pump could not be placed under the res.

I also did alot of work to get a very simple look so i had to get rid of all the cables :)

Right now im thinking about making a ramcooler where i can mount two 60 mm fans on. I'll probably make it out of Lexan (a plastic that is bendable on a punching machine)

I have decided to order a HR-05 for the NB, HR-05 SLI for the SB and 2 x HR-09U for the mosfets. Should look really nice.

The NB also gets extremely hot even though i removed the standard thermal pads and added some ceramique instead.

Right now its ildling at 48 C and it gets over 50 C :(

The HR-05 should bring the temps down alot.

how did you paint that case so well ? did you take all the plastic bits off first ?

Load temps are meassured after 30 mins Orthos Blend/ATITool 3D View

Ambitient temps are 28° C (Meassured with probe 10 cm away from intake fans)

Wow. That is the cleanest watercooled P180 I've ever seen. Very nice man.

The only Concern I have is for the mosfets. As you have it now, they have very limited cooling.

Putting the NB/SB on the thermalright heatsinks as well as the Mosfets will really help out though.

You are only using 4 bolts and necessary nuts to secure the rad? Are they strong enough to move the case around without bending?

I have a p180b that I just purchased and I plan on putting a triple rad like you did.

If you don't mind, could you possibly list the size the bolt?

Great work , thats a beautiful setup you have there . Do you have any data on the improvement in temps from fitment of the thermalRight NB and SB heatsinks ? I was looking at water cooling these and mosfets but 6 waterblocks on a single rig would be a total mess ....

Nice work Lap, I really like clean lines and custom shop looking special made parts. That Ramcooler is tits, does it stay on just by tension? I didn't see any mounting holes or clips. might think about producing it for retail?

here are just some ideas (personal opinion):

if you do color the water, blue would be nice.

you obviously know how to solder wires/have soldering equipment so it would probably be sweet if you get the corners of that acrylic/polycarbonate ram cooler lit up with blue or white or whatever color LEDs:)

and get some leds at the top of the case (where you cant see them) shining down.

do you have a window/leave your case open? because i wouldn't even bother if i just leave my case closed:)

where do you guys get your Antecs powdercoated?

They just used a high quality spray paint and gave it a couple coats, which I also intend to do with my P182 in the fall when I do something similar to what these guys did.

What I would like to know is if they had any trouble with anything fitting together or holes being too filled in after they painted it.

also, about your mobo heatsinks, you used the thermalright high riser, but did u use the slanted or upright HR-90's, and i cant find the other one, which one is that?? and which pump did you use donuts?
