They are not released yet. AFAIK June?
E2160 will be $84/1000pcs, E2140 will be $74 according to leaked intel slides.

Talk about bang for your buck :slobber:
Nice OC!

That 1m pi time is no joke either... I get about the same time running single channel ram at the same clock speed on my E6400....
-
Very nice chip, going with the 200FSB version looks very promising.
-
Its not often i`m all that impressed, but that chip is exceptional, and congrats on finding the performance in it! :toast:

Yes maybe in Asia E21xx is availabe soon. In VietNam E2140 retail 94$ and E2160 is 106$
p/s: cheap than ThaiLand :woot:
-
Oh boy! I can't wait for these chips to hit the stores. :woot:
How much would you say is the impact of the smaller L2 cache? I'm really not a Pi or 3DMark expert. :p:
-
very impressive but vcore 1.61 is not very healthy for 24/7
-
You don't care what vcore you running coz they're cheap as chips :P
This is a nice overclock indeed...

damn. how do these stack up against say 3600 brisbanes
not bad. results look to not be atypical from what we see from big brother allendales.

Yee i was waiting for it a long time ago. This will be my monster for my new rig ;)

See the link I posted on the previous page.
I'm not sure the source is 100% authentic, but it looks like the performance hit
is small (about 1-5% less fps on the games tested)

Nece! will be good for chep systems
Edit:
Do you have stock benchmarks?
i want to know how seconds it do in SuperPI 1M @ STOCk
Thanks

:slobber: If i buy E2140 can i have same perfomance :p:
hope fully get close to you .

10x neighbor, but I'm familiar with those rezults (I read them here about a month ago). I was hoping for a bit more info from the author of this review, because I feel the difference should be a bit bigger than that.

Hi, so these chips are deffo 'Core 2 Duo' then? Just with 1Mb cache instead or 2MB?
The label is a bit misleading?
-
WOW thats an overclock that I dont think many men can achive
props to ya
-
A few online retailers already have these in Australia. I ordered E2160 to play with... :)
-
cool mate ! faster not wait to me :slapass:
hee..hee...heee :D :woot:
-
Woot those are nice results
great OC there man.
Hmm those Pi times aren't the best tho, probably cuz of the 1mb cache.
This is definately a good performance/price ratio.
-
oh my that is awsome
reminds of how well my little old 144 did
-
Hmmm looks like the next core I will be torturing  :D
Thanks for posting your results Venom-Crusher:toast:

Here is my results
CPU: E2140 (L652B)
Mobo: DFI Infinity 975X/G (Bios 2/27/07)
Memory: Gskill GBHZ PC 6400 1gb x 2 kit
PSU: icute 420 watt
GPU: Inno 3D 8800GTX 320mb
HDD: Hitachi SATA 5200rpm 80gb 2.5"
OS: Windows XP Sp2
Using clockgen to push to 390mhz(FSB) at 1.36vcore. The temp is very high even using Delta FFB on XP90C
Wall between 390mhz to 395mhz FSB
http://img502.imageshack.us/img502/6...orepi32yj6.jpg
Priming at 334mhz FSB @ 1.31vcore. Just look at the temp during load. Around 75 degree celcius=( Way too high. Need to do something about ithttp://img524.imageshack.us/img524/4...ime2hrsim3.jpg
Stop the prime after 3 hrs
http://img524.imageshack.us/img524/2...3hrsebdgp3.jpg
Priming for 6hrs on 340mhz FSB
http://img133.imageshack.us/img133/2...oreprimlw0.jpg
Stop after 6hrs priming @ 340mhz FSB
http://img521.imageshack.us/img521/5...oreprimke2.jpg
Currently doing priming at 345mhz FSB at 1.31vcore. Trying to push the cpu higher at 1.31vcore and see how far can it goes

@ memory a.k.a longsiew :D
what FSB u boot from?
my E2140 stuck @ 344 FSB with default vcore (11 hrs priming) but it can't even boot @ higher FSB than it..:(
trying to go 345, 346, 347, 348, 349, 350 and 351 still no go
clockgened it from 344 to 345 and it hangs or restart
345x7 same result
345X6 same result
so i think it's a FSB wall
wonder how to break it ....
and yes i'm using DFI 975x too

see coretemp, I'm boot at FSB 440 and max boot at 443,
Trick go far is sb pci-e vcore from 1.50 to 1.85 in commando mobo.

I can boot from 390mhz FSB at 1.36vcore for benchies. Can clockgen to 395mhz FSB. Only stable enought for me to take screenie. More than 395mhz FSB, it would freeze my rig
Maybe you want to up the vcore to +62 under bios as I need to up vcore to +62 to boot at 390mhz FSB.
-
i've set not just +0.62 but +0.100 till +0.200 still no go
@venom-crusher
what is sb pci-e vcore??
sorry for dumb question, i dont have ASUS board

Good question. I have McH voltage and vFSB voltage (assuming its not vPCI-e) on p35 dq6.
Edit: Ah it seems to be PCI-e voltage!

I have just got an E2140 today, pushed it to 3440 with 466Mhz FSB but the Temp is incredible high in fullload (almost 85 degree celcius in Everest or Speedfan). I have tried both Thermalright 120 Xtreme or normal 120A but nothing changed. I wonder how come those little conroes so damn hot -.-

100 degree Tjunction
-
1 Attachment(s)
Uhm, no, mine is a M0 with Tjunction 85 only (Batch: Q715A626 - SLA93) ... =.= the same cooling setup can cool an E6600 @ 3.5 no more than 55 degree celcius :( High temp but it is orthos stable. In this pic i have to lower FSB to 420 just to make sure i am not going to fry the chip :ROTF:
-
looks good. where did you get your chip, Valkyrie?

I'm currently in Vietnam and working as an IT journalist, this one i got from Gigabyte Distributor in Vietnam along with some other equipments (like P35-DQ6, P35-DS4 ...etc).
-
Wow! 466MHz FSB with an Allendale. I gotta get one of these M0 chips. :D

I think you ask this because yours E2140 runs on 3.6Ghz is in your sig ?
HOW THE *** DO YOU GET 3.6Ghz ???
Then you have booted on 450 X 8  ?
EDIT:
Mine E2140 is stuck @ 400 x 8 and only 1.20VCore !!
So it can go harder then this, but @ 415 x 8 i will not boot.
So Venom-Crusher, you say NB PCI-e VCore ? But what do you mean EXACTLY ?
The PCI-e voltage or the SB voltage ? Becuase on mine P35-DQ6 i got both, and i dont want to frie my 2900XT if i set the PCI-e VCore higher :P .
Thanks !
-
Nice chip!I want new cooler ;(
-
I have put my E2140 on water today, nothing really changed much, the temperature only decreased by 2 degree celcius at FSB 450MHz - 8x. It must be IHS problem.
To Prodigys: 450x8 is not really hard with new M0 stepping IMHO, on my P35-DQ6 i can easily push it to 450 but sometime prime fails, i think it is heat problem in my case.

Great job man!! ,what's your prod. code ,batch/fpo for Rev.M0

I'd like to get one of these E2140s or E2160s. How much would it cost to switch from my current setup to one of these with a comparable motherboard?

I told ya i had mentioned it just a few post above :slapass:
To tux08902: it also depends on where you are located :welcome:
-
you've already got ddr2 and pcie, so off the bat, you'd only need cpu and motherboard. you can upgrade bits and pieces as you go.
lot of p35 boards real cheap
cheapest at the moment looks to be http://www.mwave.com/mwave/viewspec....9&RSKU=BA23929
$90 with a $20 rebate to make it $70. I actually just got this deal myself, but the board is still in the fedex box since I just moved houses and haven't had time to play with it yet.
-
the abit IP35-E is the board i'd recommend too. cheap and oc's to ~500fsb. perfect for people who don't need firewire and aren't going to run RAID. i plan to pick one up myself.
-
Anyone some tips to go higher then 415 FSB on a E2140 !?
My cpu runs 3.2Ghz on 1.2Vcore only, so i can get far more higher .
But i cant get passed 415 x 8 :(.
ANYONE TIPS ????
Rig is in signature ;) .
