8800Ultra 3dmark numbers

Had some new gpu's to play with. Real nice overclocking cards, especially on subzero cooling.
I wish I had more numbers to post up, but some other things have taken priority atm. Not bad for 1st or 2nd go's with LN2 on the cards/cpu and just intitial results. Lots of potential score power still untapped on both cpu and gpu end :)
I think the single 06 score is pretty nice and shows the power of the card well. Single 03 is pretty nice too. Giving them the cpu power they need, and they should do 26k in SLI :).

Test setup for single 8800 Ultra benching:

INTEL Conroe x6800xe Evo2.3 ln2 cooled
ASUS p5W64-PRO | CORSAIR Dominator 8888
EVGA 8800 ULTRA Tek-9 LN2 cooled
SIVLERSTONE 1000w PSU.

Test setup for single 3dark2006 and SLI 2006 :

INTEL Kentsfield QX6700 Evo2.3 ln2 cooled
ASUS STRYKER EXTREME 680iSLI| CORSAIR Dominator 8888

I think for extreme oveclocking on Ln2, these cards are nice as hell and should go far in the hands of the best clockers. Not posting these results for WR claims, just some prelim launch numbers that I am sure some want to see considering the hype and speculation around the card.
Can't wait to really dig into these GPU's. I like them alot :).

YES. On every form of cooling they scaled better. For me, this card is everything the gtx could have/should have been. G80 was still a huge step in graphics performance, so I'm not complaining. This card makes for a nice refresh though.

Exactly Kemo. I'll wait until more cards are out there before pushing it farther.
They are already shipping now I think. Also should be some better wqhl drivers soon.
All runs done here without any shader clock tweaking, card bios manipulation, or component reworks (outside of vmods).
Just some straight out of the box clocking with simple vmods on core and mem with ln2 cooling.

Kingpin, great scores and looks like there has been some improvements on GPU side also and not only the GDDR3 memories :toast:

ATM there won't be anything to match 8800 Ultra SLI, atleast in 06.

Here is most recent pic of current benching area with stryker mobo and ultras.
Pretty much 90% of all available horizontal real estate in my house looks like this. Pretty sad actually if you think about it :D

The scary part is, this is merely his test runs, there's still a lot more where this came from.

Thanx dynasty, but the card deserves the credit not me :D.
Like I said I'm not claiming WR's with any of these results..just showing off the cards on extreme cooling for launch. I think hipro and many other proven benchers can and will compete for 3d wr's with these gpu's :toast:

You will have a field day extreme ovelclocking the gpu's if you already haven't George :toast:. So much headroom/tweaking to pull out still. They really love the tek's and the tek's love them back ;)

Expected to see 21k+ single 06' from you on a ultra man, I bet you can do it on a all cascade setup with a 4.8'ish ghz quad for sure.

BTW-- anyone want to see the "real world' air numbers in all the 3dmarks from 680i/ultra single and sli. Best I could pull from the setup using aftermarket cpu cooler and stock gpu cooler? My needs of HW can be a little dif than that of the average user lol.

One of the cards went right to 988mhz for 03/06 on the STOCK BIOS with about 1.67v without even breaking below -70c base temps on one of my units. The other is almost the same. Sound like there is more left?? :D

As for the air benches, yes the card was modded, but vr's turned all the way down. Temperature was more of an issue around 720mhz using stock cooler than voltage. It could do about the same core clocks before modded.
Ambient temps played more of a role when those runs were done, it was around 80F in the workspace. It's alot colder today so I may run it again and see how far over 16k single card 06 I can get on the all air rig.

Both PSU's are very nice and can handle this rig no problem. I interchange them all the time for testing around here and they both have never let me down. Also updated the last of the air 3d single card benchies in my previous post Diltech. I'm done with that :D

Sorry missed ya. My overall impression is that the card runs cooler all around from air to top end ln2. These new stock coolers look cool, but they aren't very different from the gtx coolers. My gtx's seemed to run hotter.

OP1000 is what I use.

Hit 1ghz on the ultra core for Mark 03 today. 1.65v-1.7vgpu -80c to -85c
CPU only at 3.6ghz/air on the striker and still nearly 62,000 single card lol.

Well, one thing i noticed is that this new mem runs a little hotter than gtx, because i dont get as much frost forming around the mem chips like before. the card definitely requires good air circulation around it.

hey KP i was recently given a tip to reduce my screenshots size almost ten fold in some instances and still have better quality captures too

here is a guide.........it's dead easy
basically Irafanview with PNGOUT plugin and reducing colours to 256 ^^^ image above would go down from 320Kb to around 40Kb ;)

just scroll down to SLI_dog's tips :toast: :toast:

Take a long ass time to see my pics? really never gave it any thought dinos, maybe I should though if they are slow to load. I will check that for sure.

not just slow to load but you know when you go on a benching spree and have lots of images might as well make them smaller....doesn't take longer and doesn't hurt either.............

i'm pretty bad with posting shytloads of images and my forum pages are always set to view max amount of posts per view so i actually have to wait until it all loads even though the internet connections is pretty fast heh :)

So the problem is restricted only to the mem tems??
Isn't the new Ultra heatsink better then the other GTX one??
