Omfg !!!
there is a coupon code for that ram also
CRUCIAL2GB420
made it 85 bucks w/ free shipping
insane
huge 100 dollar rebate though
Insane price indeed, but new supply will probably be D9HNL; probably not as good as the D9GMH sticks are. However for that price you can't go wrong, and the D9HNL can't be too bad as it's still binned for the same settings by Crucial.
Hey guys...there's an even better deal...

I just ordered a set. :)
Thanks Gautam!

Send an e-mail to Crucial for confirmation, they usually respond very fast. I'd ask if the latest sticks are single sided (D9HNL) or double sided (D9GMH), I wouldn't ask for codes as they probably don't know/understand :p:
Thinking about it, there is a pretty good chance that it's still D9GMH. I thought Micron stopped the production of many 512Mbit IC's and shifted most to 1Gbit including DDR2-667 5-5-5 spec IC's (D9GMH). However I just saw that they are still making D9GMH. It's unlikely that Crucial is using the new 1Gbit chips so soon on their high-end parts. Crucial PC8000 is probably still D9GMH I suppose.
Amen, binning on the IC level can make all the difference.
Plus, we've only seen the results of some ES samples and rather low-end retail memory kits. Yields and overclockability could have improved very much. One clue about better yields is the introduction of the big brother of D9HNL with a DDR2-1067 spec in Q3.
wow 85 bux!!!
They dropped the before rebate price reduction so now when they gat back in stock they will be $200 after MIR.:slapass:
i hate mail in rebate ... thats why i am going to get GSkill 800HZ ... i only need to pay $117 after code: EMC503DSKIL
also i dont think newegg lets u rma RAM after u take the UPC code off the pacakge, which is needed for rebate
I think they will do a replacement but wont do a return after you had done the rebate.
I would not worry about the warranty from what everyone says about crucial you would probably be better off using them
Man all these killer deals after i bought my ram allready :dammit: :dammit:
Me too, I havent had any problems with rebate. FWIW the crucial rebate got posted within a week for me.
yeah u have any proof to back up ur claim?
and no i fill them correctly . 1st u fill ur name, 2nd u fill ur address , 3rd u send what ever the hell they want u to send and that includes receipt, invoice/ packing slip , UPC code .. and yes i did them correctly, and yes about half of em r gone
im not saying crucial does that... im sure they dont, but i rather pay less at the shop/sites than having to worry about rebate
crucial does very well with rebates, I do not hesitate with crucial rebates. Anything that goes to niagra falls for rebate processing is usually done correctly if you follow the directions.
EVGA rebates that go to EL PASO texas on the other hand... you dont have as strong of a chance getting those.
Dude,
For starters...I made no "claim"...I just expressed a thought/opinion and secondly, I did it with a big ole grin afterwards, as it was intended to be a lighthearted crack.
That said,
You are the one claiming that you don't get the rebates ("out of about 20+ some stuff i bought from frys, newegg .... i never got 1 back ..."), you are the one claiming that you file them correctly, you are the one claiming that you won't buy with a rebate...
Partial quote from earlier post just a little over 2 hours ago: "i hate mail in rebate ... thats why i am going to get GSkill 800HZ"
and by the way, you are also the one that just posted a little more than 20 minutes ago (in the GSkills thread) that you ordered the Ballistix for $139, after mail in rebate.
Your quote from GSkills thread:
"MOST of the DDR2 800HZ r D9GMH ... some could be D9GCT as some mentioned, but they should all clock well i think... CL4 DDR2 1000 @ 2.25v ...
but i pulled the trigger on Crucial 8500 for $139 after rebate so ..."

So just relax and have some fun and enjoy your new Ballistix...and if you need help in filling out the rebate form, just ask any of the guys that have posted here after you that they've had no problems...I'm sure that they will be happy to lend you a hand...maybe you can break that bad streak of yours and get your first rebate back.
Once again, I'll state what is recorded in my original post...I made my wisecrack with a big ole grin and it was done in jest (that is what a "big grin" represents, in case you don't comprehend sign language).
I don't need to explain to anyone what motivated your comments.
In this world when someone continues to have a problem...of any type, after a certain point it is easy for others to reach the conclusion that perhaps the one common thread is the person having the problems is the cause of the problems and not the events or issues that are causing the problems.
The majority of people get the majority of their rebates. Afte a point, you have to wonder just why one particular person can't seem to get a rebate. I made my original comment in jest, however, I now have to wonder...
Do you ever follow up on a rebate?
Do you make copies of your information and contact the manufacturer after the suggested waiting period has passed? Those are simple things that even the manufacturer suggests that you do.
Newegg, for example, is so good about their rebates that if you call them and tell them you haven't received your rebate from "such and such" a purchase...they (not the original vendor), will refund you the rebate amount (I know that for a fact, because they credited an unreceived rebate directly to my PayPal account).
So you want proof of how I drew the conclusion that it must be "operator error"...your very posts that you haven't got a single one back points directly at you pal. It is your responsibility to follow up on rebates and if you haven't gotten them back...it is your fault...
Now, why don't you go take a real long bicycle ride down a very bumpy road on a saddle less bike, as you obviously already have a bunch of burrs up your behind and perhaps that will loosen up a few them for you.
Learn to understand when someone is poking light hearted fun and perhaps you might enjoy your life a little more.
And while you are at it (perhaps during that bike ride I suggested to you)...find a dictionary, look up the definition of "claim" (an assertion) vs a "thought" (an idea or opinion) and that might help clear up some of YOUR confusion.
I'm done with you. You turned a simple little friendly kidding into some kind of flame war and I just don't have time for this kind of kid's stuff.
i certainly hope tahts the case , but quote from a newegg rep. :
fuk that, so now im scew ... god i really love mail in rebate ..Quote:
Dear Customer,
Thank you for contacting Newegg.
Please kindly note that the retail packaging and all accessories that were included with the item should be returned to us for RMA. If the UPC code is cut off for rebate and the item is defective, you may directly contact the manufacturer at 800-336-8916 for troubleshooting. Most of the manufacturers will repair/replace the item without the original packaging.
Thank you for your time.
Best regards,
oh yeah let me explain, since all mail in rebate require u to take off something from the box , UPC code, their labels ... etc... once u done that. that particular product is considered "defected" by newegg's standard, and therefore u wont be able to exchange it ... and most of the RAM has standard return policy which means u get to exchange within a year ... and u lose that right/privilege once u done the MIR ...
i remember i read something that suggest scenario like this right b4 i checked out ...
