Its pretty!!!
Any benches on this to confirm the thread title's claim? :)
-
how much will does/it cost ?
-
-
Looks very good :D
Very nice pictures! :)
Did you test the max FSB of the board with a lower multiplier?
My TFORCE S754 hit 400FSB with stock NB volts :)
Those matx boards are great!
-
Fantastic board!!
Simply little is beauty! (in this case of course :p: )
Another great review windwithme :toast:

Most PCI-E 1x cards is not that long.
-
why need a vga on this mobo while it already has a built-in one and HDCP output
-
Very nice, looks like Biostar has another mATX winner on its hands.

Sorry
I dont test the max FSB of the board with a lower multiplier:) ...
but 355mhz with PI 32M is very excellent

Doesn't look like this is the OC king at all from the screenshots. Why is the HT link always at 1G and not more? What's the max HT link speed it can do? Also 355 HT ref is nothing to write home about. 690G runs better than this.

Which 690G board, I haven't seen any reviews of one past 300 with a full multi. I know the Saphire one did 350 HT with 5X multiplier, but that doesn't mean much imho because the memory isn't being pushed at all.
-
I don't like the Board Layout, the TA690G seems much better... :/
better placed ATX/FD connector and PCI(e) slots are better placed to and it has got a DVI port

Why oh why cant we buy Biostar boards in AU  :slapass:
nice review windwithme thanks
-
Hey alpha, ltns
Hope all is well!
I also wish Biostar was back in Aus, so many good budget boards for both Intel & AMD platforms from them lately.

Locks like a nice board, makes my wanna bulid a HTPC! Good review as allways windwithme!

Hey folks.. got a quick question. I got this board, and it is actually a nice little package. Got it to 325FSB w/ out a problem. I am having a little bit of the an issue with OC'ing, not really an issue, but more of an annoyance.
I have been OC'ing via BIOS and it has been going fine, but getting tired of having to reboot everytime.
Clockgen and Systool doesn't appear to work with this board. What program are people using to OC this board in Windows?
Any info or suggestions woudl greatly be appreciated.

I believe it comes with a utility from Biostar that can overclock from windows.

Derektm,
Thanks for the suggestion. I have seen people using the t-utility for OC'ing, but it didn't come up as an option when i threw in the Biostar CD into the drive. The autoplay menu only showed HW monitoring and Bios Live.
So I actually explored the CD, and found the T-Uility for Overclocking and installed it. It installed just fine, and the program does launch. But it does not adjust the FSB, and the mem speed was wrong.
The only thing that the utility allowed me to do was adjust the multi in windows, and that was it. So I just guess it is a limitation of the chipset. What a PITA.
If anyone found a window overclocking utility for this board, please share it with us.
Thanks again.

Look at the first few pics posted in this thread. There is no optical out on the back of the computer. But there is HDMI.
Hope that helps.

If it only had DVI and SVideo TV-out...

It supports DVI out of the box with an HDMI to DVI adapter. It also supports SVideo with an adapter from nVidia.

That came with my 8800GTS. Did you look at the back of the board at all?

It does have SPDIF headers on the board and I believe you can do optical out with a pci bracket.

It has both. There is a dvi to hdmi.
Thanks

Just looked in the bag of goodies that came w/ the biostar. It did come w/ a HDMI to DVI convertor, and the sVID is built on board. There was no Optical Out PCI bracket in the package. SOrry about that.. I didn't look closely at the back, i am still running some test with it on my workbench, and only using the VGA out.

Sad I checked the Biostar website, and a few retailers, and it says it comes with a SPDIF out bracket. Can anyone confirm this, was yours a retail board.
Thanks

I have a retail board and it does not come with an SPDIF out bracket.
-
Yup.. mine does NOT come w/ the bracket. It was a full retail bracket. I really wish there was a way to OC this board in windows :(

Where can you buy the brackets from.
Thanks

This is much better placed but how well can it OC?
What are the bios options as well.
Great sneak peak Wind! THANKS!

Great review as always WindWithMe. I just ordered this motherboard for a replacement for a horrible DFi RS482 HTPC motherboard. 2 Gigs of Ram, loaded motherboard, X2 3600 for under 200 bucks. I'm lovin' it.
-
very very sexy board and it looks very able! :]
-
Hey windwithme, have you tried the TF7025-M2? I'm working with that ATM and I can barely get 225MHz HTT?! What am I doing wrong?
-
I have the TF560 AM2+ here. Once my AM2 cpu arrived, I will post some information :)
Nicks it might be helpful posting bios screens with the relevant information. 225 sounds way too low.

The TF7050-M2 is a fantastic motherboard. This is the highest HTT I was able to achieve though. 600MHz on pc5300 ram @ 2Volts ain't all bad either. :D
Does anyone know of any overclocking software that works with this board? I've tried Glockgen,Systool, and A64 info and none work.

I figured it out. Somehow even though the RAM was running @ under spec, some alpha timings were affecting HTT OC. Once I adjusted them it's fine, now I'm running 316x9.5 24/7 :)

NickS,if it' not the problem, can you list those timings and the settings you used to overcome the HTT OC issue?
