Hi guys ^^
Heres my single stage phase change chiller, runned it for few days just to make sure the whole thing works ^^
Im currently rebuilding it to a cascade (that was its original purpouse when i bought it ;] wich will use R22/R744 (CO2) but heres some data on it, worth looking ;]
First the cooling unit, its a 770W sanyo compressor, made as you can see for A/C ;]
Heres the condenser (measures 80x50cm), cooled with a ~45cm fan

Notice the logo on my tshirt, its from the 52nd engenier squadron from a american base in rammsten, there are 3 sentences wich i love: CAN DO - WILL DO - HAVE DONE :D :D :D :D :D :D
Temps are -38C full load, the system was uncalibrated, simply filled and fired up, might have went to -60C but who cares when its just temporary ;]

15min ago ive mounted the TXV tomorrow ill finish my I stage from the cascade chiller, probably ill make some initial tests with R22 but i dont think that it will be able to put enough heat on this monster without CO2... maybe my dual 120W tecs will have some work :D

Very nicely done. id work on that -60c cpu temp. id me Very interested to see how low you could take her. After i do my Xbox mods (yes i know). this will be my next project. but i will only have 1 unit, and i will be going for -50c idle temps :)

Today i didnt have any time for the cascade, tomorrow ill get a new 8rda3+ (my abit nf7s pissed me off, in one month it turned back on me twice) and one of those killer bartons...

No, some actually work, some are too old to use,some are dead...it's more like my parts wall. :D
The stackable drawers to the right are full of parts, cards, old ram, etc.

just kinda ran outta space and tacked it to the wall and hooked up some super cooler to it I imagine.

Its modded so the needle is visible (it has no nozzle) its made that way so more freon can go through it... Post some more news later when i finish (at last) my 1'rst stage of the cascade...

berkut by the way,i just found a buy able nozzle 10 min ago,very small with a thum screw fine adjustment.small enough to mount directly to the evaperator and still insulate it.going to order 6 or so tommorow.:D

Ok, some more info on the cascade...
I was in a supermarket for some stuff to built the cascades housing...
The baseplate is a 22mm and its made of wood ^^ It has 80x70cm and it siths on these litle blocks, they are 20mm thick, 5cm width and 80cm long, its mounted to the basedesk with glue....

its very irritating to find that leak but it isnt dangerous... simply makes you furious ;]

Looks fantastic too, theyres an a/c condensor unit out the back of work, most of the circuit boards are mashed up and it stands like 5' tall x 4' x 1' might liberate that, although the compressor in it is hooge...

Just got a swiftech MC462 and its like a bless since my current phase change chiller and my water cooler and water chiller are out of order...

Ok, some more info...
Made some cosmetic adjustemts later, first of all ive cramped and soldered up the old cap tube:
Then ive mounted this valve:
To the condensors outlet- now unhoocking the evap is very easy, just close the valve, let the system run for a while, turn it of and youve got some high suction over there, no freon ;]
Drilled some mounting holes... (this ones one of the 4 for the A/C unit)

Somebody has to pioneer these things, tbh cascades will never become common practice, and selling them is even harder youll need a pic controller with at least 1 failsafe just in case, us overclockers will try anything to get colder or faster and with a cascade it could have bad consequences....
/me is watching with much interest, hopefully i should finish my single stage r290 next week then ill make another one for gpu then see where experimentation takes me :)
Its all good, its like making waterblocks 2yrs ago when i found out about watercooling :)

Making the heat exchangers insulation

Poliurethane foam (my personal favorite if it comes to insulation properties, better than styrofoam and if you play with it a little longer you can do incredible things with it ;]
The foam hardening:
Notice the empty inner chamber, didnt come up for what can i use it but it might come handy even for chilling Cocacola, water or Vodka :D The poliurethane foam will be trimmerd with a knife, the chamber will be closed with styrofoam..

One question, once the exchanger gets chilly and the middle bit gets condensation, when you turn it off your wood will get wet, and then it could rot away?
Looks fun though. Put some of that spray foam into a beer bottle, stand the beer bottle upside down, wait for it to set and then break the bottle you get a foam cast of the inside of the bottle :D

This wood is waterproof... and there will be water absorvers on the bottom, the base will also sit on some styrofoam

Its a:
-AMD Athlon XP 2500+ @ 2.3ghz (CRAP, soon getting a better one)
-Epox 8RDA3+ (great mobo, but it lowers the voltages by 0.1V on the mem and 0.05V on Vcore, does 225mhz fsb w passive cooling)
-GeForce FX 5800 non ultra @ 630/1100 (working on its voltage mods- cooled with custom made waterblocks and a 120W pelt on core)
Currently cooled with a Swiftech MC462, sanded, with dual, turrning in different ways fans (works like a jet engine :D), 47C full load @ 2.3ghz 1.85V
Beacause of maintaince of the watercooler and building my dual 120W compressors waterchiller i use air (a volcano 7+ with stock ramsinks)

Ive found my old epox 8k7a+, it has lots of free space around the socket but this didnt matter ]:-> Fist thing i did was unsoldering some parts around the socket ;]
Later i will cut the socket fragment with some PCB around it and ill test my ati condensation and isolation not risking my compuer... ^^
