Nice, but late. Strange mix of caps, and the D-PWM cooling doesnt look amazing. I hope the price reflects the competition and late arrival to market (ie...good price!)

I'm assuming that the 1st two slots are 16x while the bottom one is 8x, otherwise how are you going to fit a two slot cooler GFX at the bottom unless you have a case that has room underneath like a stacker or similar
We have reviews of the 965 but not the 680 ? Strange... I like the design of the board and , I must admit, I'm kind of a big sucker for DFI Lan party's series ! But I will wait until I see more reviews before making the jump...
and we hope it comes out sometime this year !!!!!
glad someone is innovating for a decent factory nb cooler instead a bunch of copper pipes running everywhere.
Copper pipes running from NB to MOSFETS to more MOSFETS to SB back to NB needs to end.
A GPU dedicated towards physics won't need to be ultra high end. Anyway there is nothing close to being established by either GPU house to create a physics solution, so the slot will only be useful for RAID cards or the like for probably a year or more.Quote:

This looks a lot better with a decent passive 680i northbridge heatsink and a nice active MCP55P to fit under the graphics cards.Lets hope the northbridge has a small amount of some good thermal paste under there and fits snuggly.
The LT should be cheaper than the pure 680, this could be a keeper.

The interesting thing is that back around Christmas, Oskar reported that he was not happy with the overclocking consistency of the full-fledged 680i NB. Is this the only board coming from the DFI camp based on the 680i or will there be a board based on the full fledged 680i SLI?
The layout does look impressive however and should perform very well if all bugs are ironed out and the bios is up to par.

That's really my only question now. Does anyone have a nice little real world comparo link between the 965/975 and 680i chips w/ regards to a striped hdd config? Again...real world as in raring, file moving, maybe even some game benchies.
Now all I need is DFI to make a LP UT eATX 680i/LT with at least 3 usable PCI slots while running G80 SLI. Might also help with finding the best possible layout & spacings.
Why don't they make some enthusiast boards (1 CPU) in eATX? Lord knows there's plenty of cases that support eATX.

About SATA/HD fixes - SB 570SLI is worst and pretty older then SB 590SLI, it cannot to fix some SATA/HD problems ....
I did see that one, thanks. Towards the end there's a suggestion to change some options in the controller dev mgr panel, but yeah...real world would be nice. It's a mini HR-05... quite good
Although it probably won't be enough for higher clockspeeds and higher voltages it's great to see it's not connected to all the other heatsinks via a heatpipe! This should make it much easier to replace with another cooler! Heck I even like eVGA's 680iLT cooling better than the stock 680i heatpipe cooling.

Although this is a bit off topic guys I still think it's relavent to the discussion here? There has been some discussion in this thread about what southbridge (MCP) was going to be used on the DFI 680i motherboard and what MCP would be better. It looks like it's going to ship with the 570MCP instead of the 590MCP that most high-end 680i boards have been using. Well I'm currenlty on my 4th eVGA 680i AR/A1 motherboard. My first two boards were AR revisions and my last two boards have been A1 revisions. My first A1 revision was delivered a couple weeks ago when eVGA was sending out replacments for better C2Q overclocking (GTL mods) and was recenlty RMA'ed due to some major problems. Well my 2nd A1 revision just arrived a few days ago and after removing the stock heatpipe coolers to mount my chipset waterblocks I noticed something very intersting!
Unlike my first three eVGA 680i boards this one came with a 570MCP instead of the 590MCP which was a bit suprise to me as I hadn't heard anything about eVGA replacing the MCP from anyone! With that said this has been my best 680i board yet, no problems and very stable overclocker so far! Anyway I just thought I'd let you guys know since I image we'll start to see this on many of the 680i boards? I'm gonna try getting in touch with eVGA to ask about this but I'm not holding my breath, lol!

the international rma dept seems to have no new board ....

i have a dfi venus and dfi has a good support ... i will never buy evga any more!!! i love dfi ...
