Thats so awesome but then again so pointless IMO

I wouldnt mind someone making me a unit that cooled my CPU and chipset though :D

Thats not very pricey to do if someone had a small enough cap in cap evap Cupcake, but when you dont want it thats a pain. Cost of a good solenoid is pretty high, and a hand valve can be a bit of a pain. Plus when its off you have overcharge possibly.

I remember the BH-5 days, somebody LN2 cooled their ram and got like like 10 more MHz, wasn't worth it at all as heat isn't the restricting factor in most cases. Overkill for sure, would have been better spent on the northbridge and LN2 on the CPU :)

i'm sure this isnt a case of best cooling per dollar here, this is pure performance regardless of the price, or one of those just-to-say-I-did-it scenarios

Good Idea but Jmax a test Geil Pc 8500 on LN2 (no gain in lower part of -15°) , D9GCT maybe

heh, yeah then all they need to do is find a way to make the motherboard traces from one of the "high temperature" superconductors and you might actually get a real performance boost.

Yes, but the first motherboards will use DDR2.

It's a good idea, but I mean... IIRC dry ice has been used on BH-5 ram before and it gained quite a bit I think, but that was BH-5. Nowerdays I doubt it would gain much. Noone has ever really took ram cooling that seriously IMO.

I remember that VR experiment. They showed pretty conclusively that putting ram under phase has no gains.
