k|ngp|n brings the SuperPi 32M WR home!

Either he was too modest, or just has more in store, or both, but I hope he doesn't mind me starting a thread for this- he deserves it. :)

The efficiency is simply smoking, its a WR by 2 seconds, but at 205MHz lower than 2nd place. Very few it seems have tried tackling i965 with extreme cooling and voltages, but it seems like Vince here had no trouble juggling both for some astonishing results- as usual. Seems like he's just as home in the 2D world as he is in 3D. :cool:

I don't understand poeple surprising to see P965 chipset there...

965 is definitely faster than 975 for Spi thx to RAM dividers... I mean it isn't something new... it has been known for ages.

Spi benching is all about RAM clocks, 1:1 even at tighter timings isn't faster than 2:3 ratio...

I'm not THAT "stacked" as for the Super-Pi bench BUT I wonder that other benchers who have tested 20k + $ hardware, HOW COME and they didn't find out that the 965 is the "key" for this bench.....?.....:rolleyes:

guess they should listen to some of us a little more :D

Vince is not nearly done yet guys.....he's got more in it for sure.......i would not be surprised to see some 5400+ benches at sub-9m if the RAM holds out :D

or even try the 4:5 ratio with DICE on the MCH :D

people definatly underestimate the 965 chipset.
with new boards hitting 520+ at 1066 strap, and the huge ram clocks the boards can do, these things are only getting faster and better with each new version.

X6800 has fully unlocked multi so you can have 14x 15x 35x or whatever you want.

Like I posted in another thread, I consulted with some guys who are more experienced in 32m and sp benching in general than I was to achieve this score. They get my thanx and props bigtime :toast:. I have learned soooo much about superpi in the last few weeks grinding it out run after run. 965 with high mem clocks and fully tweaked flat out owns. This is scratching the surface...there is more there still :D. Thanx again!

If the memory is done at OC and it is possible to run,
the speed seems like faster than 975(1:1).

Yes the 965i has a good management of the memory in 2:3 (what has an important impact on the score of the 32mo, I had compared on NF6 (without optimization)

The i965 from Abit and DFI will be very powerful out of strap 1066 (and one can change the 1T/2T) what will be even more powerful (on standby of P35 which is under development but nothing will have revolutionary, X38 will be much more interesting A my simple opinion)

And still a Great cheer for the score of Kingpin :toast: and a special Thank A Before for Optimizations :p:

Somebody on XS has (long time ago) compared 965 vs. 975x in Spi 32M. When u pass 425mhz fsb (with strap 1066) even with 1:1 ratio 965 is faster.

680i "strap change" occurs at 425MHz FSB too

Learn (French Overclock) a succeeds has to resolve the Command Rate in 1T on Asux P5B deluxe (that must be possible on all the motherboard i think)

4-4-4-8 2T (on 680i) (1T on RD600)

I booted with 400FSB...you can confirm it by the clock showed on CoreTemp.
In my screenshot, CoreTemp shows 4000.05MHz.
CoreTemp shows boot-up clock even after changing FSB by SetFSB, in my experience:)

Tighter timings and higher mem speed would do great for you but I assume it will be hard to boot with other dividers then 1:1 in your case.
