5. Result
After I tested 4 hours, I came to a result. Here my Config:

great I like treads with lot of pictures :), put some more vcore to the CPU u will be pleased with boost u can go up to ~1.9V with dry ice with no problemo. And put some fan around pot so u can blow away condensation from board.

@Nordling: Yes its endinering sample! I Tried to go up with the Vcore but I think my Vcore Mod was buggy. I only could costum until 1,75 Vcore and then I saw black screen :(. The CPU also has a fsb wall. Watercooled I only get 3,8 stable.

Score good for ES and water, DI action and 600MHz more at low vcore, not bad :)

Excellent start and pictures :)



Here are some things that I use, maybe you will find it useful :D

* You can replace vaseline with armaflex/neophrene pad in the base. Not so messy then :) Often I don't use anything at all, no really needed with DI

* At start, put a few (crashed) DI pellets in container and then boot into bios at default volts. Then add more and a bit acetone and watch your temps climb down. This way you can be sure cold is not the one that prevents booting at the very start

* use a lot of fans

I don't have the possibility to get LN2. I will first do some more DICE sessions and when I'm seventeen or older ^^ I will try my first LN2 session :)

You should really consider doing a bit of tweaking when you reaches that high frequencies.. Its a bit of a shame seeing 0,02sec with a 100mhz less on a untweaked setup.. :\

Especially since you got mods and all..

Anyway, Vaseline is definitely not required... I've only used it once myself but never again and never ever killed something due to lack of insulation. The only board for which I've used Vaseline was a Bad Axe... a Bad Axe which later died under standard conditions, and for which it was very boring to remove the Vaseline prior to send it for RMA.

My next big project will be the same with LN2, I think. But first of all I need the equipment, and thats very expensive I think. What do I all need für LN2?

LN2 is a lot more expensive. The most expensive part is the dewar. You either need to rent one, or buy one. They can be upto a few thousand pounds for a good one. Then there is all the safety stuff that you should idealy have... gloves, goggles etc. LN2 itself in price varies a lot depending on where you live. Check with your local gas supplier.

:nono: buyd me a 30L dewar from waus-mod for only 320€ incl sending :D
here its about 2€ for a L off Ln² , minimum take is 20L .
dry ice is 3€ for a KG , minimum take is 5kg ;)

what comes in my mind fits in one line: clean setup, good pictures - nice results :clap:

@ blind_ripper - You're kidding me right :eek: ? Where'd you get a 30l dewar for €320 INC shipping?? That is really cheap for a dewar you know...

Waus-mod aka wouter got a good deal with a local Lab, and could buy the dewars pritty cheap.

I got mine 12L dewar for 100€ + ~ 20€ ship

Have a look at ebay for a cheap dewar.;)

OMG :eek: ! Just €70?! eBay UK is no good for stuff like that. If we got them from abroad it would end up costing a crapload in import duties etc :( .

Dry ice pieces obviously won't have much contact with the pot, pete. That's why you add alcohol or something else. I did an investigation, and methanol has the highest thermal conductivity out of all the stuff you would try using for dry ice cooling. I think you would want low melting point (so dry ice won't be wasted on changing the medium's phase) and high thermal conductivity (duh).

You can use CO2 from bottle and make DI from liquid phase.

The Deware you rent at AGA or AirLuqid, that is the danish names.

Often you need securtity clearances and ALOT of different stuff to buy LN2.

Ln2 is almost 2½ x the price of Dry Ice.
20 Kg of dryice is only 50$ :)

Gloves is cool, but plastic gloves are good enough. the ln2 will not even cool your fingers if it hits plastic. It is to coold to transfer "heat".

It will just "explode" and spray way.
