Whoa, who would have thought non-D9 chips can do such clocks on relatively low volts (compared to some extreme volts I've seen that is). Now just need to see other similar results to be sure this is not super good luck!
Hynix? Get out. I was guessing ProMos.
wonder how 2x1GB overclocks
Amazed ! :woot:
Darn my guess was elpida.Quote:

er that's if they have em i didn't even check yet.
1 gig for $170? that's more than d9's are going for right now... they better have some overclockability...
Really nice for that price.
CAS3 frecuency seems to be very good for its price.
I was thinking on ProMOS also...
DDR2-850 cas 4 or 5 @ DDR2-1374... Just a little overclockability...Quote:

nice that is a good startand definitely great new for us
But those memories don't like tight timings the most amazing part is hitting PC8000C4 with very low voltages but looks like it don't like any thing above 2.1V very bad scaling
i have a value ddr2 with hynix c4 chip that run over than 600 @ 2.4v.....it cost me about $100 for 512*2

PC2-6800 rating may be first reflection of new 333 bus, PC26400 doesnt quite make it @4:5 (2.5 multiplier)
266.6 X 2.5 = 800
333.3 X 2.5 = 833.3
266.6 × 2.5 = 667, not 800.Quote:

Very nice results, hopefully with the crashing DDR2 prices and the competition that the hynix modules will bring against Micron we will see nice 2gb ddr2-800 kits for under $200.
wow man put some more vdimm on the RAM
D9 = MicronQuote:

noticed some russian website with those ICs doing 1000MHz 5-5-5-x with 1.9v  nice ICs for sureQuote:

Mem manuf cant sell ram RATED for guaranteed PC2-6400 functionality @ specified timings on a Rev. 3.3 Gigabyte mobo that uses a 2.5 multi which gives 833 memfreq PC2-6666 IF it detects a 333 bus CPU - the closest to current 800 @266 bus, which is PC2-6400, marketing hype or not. I think we are going to see a lot of new PC2 ratings, thnx to 333 bus
That can be the only reason for the PC2-6800 nomenclature, nothing else makes sense - heh

why o why do we pay so much for ram

I called this one almost 6 months ago if you remember. I betcha this is the same 65nm 7-7-7 ddr2 800 I wanted Mushkin to look at too bad the tarriffs are like ~65% for em. Now we wait for the Samsung 900s... now THAT will be something of legend. Only a month or so to go!Quote:

C4 DDR2-533 4-4-4
E3 DDR2-400 3-3-3
Too bad about the tariff. Would have been fun to play with, but in the U.S. Twinmos doesn't have a lot of retail partners. Unless the Hynix show up at a nice price I'll wait for the Samsungs 900s Sentinel mentioned. :D
I have 2*1Gb DDR2 Hynix C DDR2-800 5-5-5 not revision B
http://photofile.ru/photo/rasamaha/1...e/44706971.jpg
900Mhz 4-5-4-7 2.15v

i just went out hynix hunting :) found these gonna test them soon you wouldnt believe the amount of d9gct i saw but was all sodimm. i also saw alot of buffalo that looked like d9 but they were marked buffalo so i couldnt take chance any way im going to test them and take em bake cause i payed to much in my mind
http://img265.imageshack.us/img265/2996/imga0369dc3.jpg
hey r00n i should have had your ddr2 pic list with me they were looking at me like i was a terrorist i must have shifted through 50 sticks of ram :D
Hehe, I suggest you do that again. You never know what you'll find. :DQuote:

cant get to post at ddr1000 tried to 2.3v no good taken em back, also r00n
when the company puts their logo on them do they change the other info or it stays the same??
i also have some d9gct comming soon
also r00n i believe the all the buffalo ram i saw was micron d9 based on that circle in the corner as it has the biggest one the same like in your pics is that a safe guide to go buy?
any test dummies
http://www.compuvest.us/ProductDetai...yCode=MEM_DDR2
That depends. Sometimes manufacturers clear any info on the IC to replace it with their own (given the IC even has a label, which isn't always the case).Quote:

Another benefit when using heatspreaders is that there's no point in relabeling ICs if you can't see them. Less work, less costs. But that's a whole different story.
GeIL for instance is known for relabeling many of their ICs. This IC, which was used on GeIL Ultra Platinum PC4200, makes a good example:
http://www.cluboverclocker.com/revie...C4200/chip.jpg
If you look closely you will notice there's an h in the upperleft corner (just below the 'b' of 'ClubOC.net'). Its shape indicates it's a Hynix IC.
To the right, just above G-35, you can still see the markings of D43. This IC was once labeled as Hynix D43, but now only contains GeIL's info.
There's no telling what will be changed, and it's not always this obvious.
So the best way to determine the origin of a relabeled IC is by looking at the physical properties. Dimension, position and size of the dot(s) if it has any, etc.
Micron D9 also has a little edge visible in the middle of both the left- and rightside. It actually stretches along the bottom, as shown in this picture:Quote:

http://img.presence-pc.com/news/d/d/...ah_resized.jpg
Combined with the well-known dimensions and location and size of the dot it's relatively easy to distinguish a Micron IC from others.
Hope this helps you. :)
I scoured Ebay for these new chips, no luck.
hmm these are nice but D9 is still the ram to get i think. :)
we want to see those crazy frenchmen give these 3.5VDIMM :D :D :D :D :D :D
o.O I'm building a computer 4 my buddy this weekend. I think i'll get me some of that kingston hynix.
we actually did try hynix DDR2 800 IC half years ago but didn't do so well, can boot with DDR2 1100 CL5 2.1v but only stable @ DDR2 1020 CL5 2.0v. and the price was high....
GST
Same here. We've tried many Hynnix ICs, and non of them were good enough for our TEAM XTREEM line.Quote:

haha that's the exact same kind of results I got from my 2x 1gb hynix pc4200 sticks (week 37), they'll do 800mhz cas 4 at 2.1 volts happily and go up to about 925mhz cas 4 at 2.1-2.2 (I forgot to write it down) but they'll pretty much completely stop going faster at around 960mhz.
When they're cheap they're worth it, I paid £70 ish for the pair back when DDR2 had just jumped in price and was going to sell them since I replaced them with some anniversary ram but with prices falling I may as well keep them and have 4 gigs :)
I got some kingston value ram today on a p5n-e SLi. 1gb stick $100 pc2-5300. I'm running them at 900mhz 4-4-4-12 at 2.1v That is some sweet stuff for $100 Canadian dollars.
I can't tell what IC's they use tho cuz it just says kingston all over them.
nice results. they were kvr667's eh? I have two sticks as well (albeit 512mb sticks single sided) and they'll do 800 5-4-4-12 @ 2.15v, but not really any higher. try to do 900 with 6-6-6 and 2.1-2.4v and it's no post. try 800 4-4-4 with higher volts and no stability.
got an update on my progress with this kingston here
I have quite alot Kits of Kingston PC5300 not sure what IC they are but I had 958mhz out of them with the last setup
Any Ideas on the IC's?
Could you post some pictures of the modules and close-ups of the ICs?Quote:

hmm, I've got the same looking ic, but mine says:
s80206
0703 s01
d640btebggl3r
http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...d.php?t=134177
Mine is performing not too well. It won't even post at 900mhz 5-5-5 or 6-6-6 with 2.15v, 2.25v, 2.45v.
It passed memtest for 1 iteration at 800 5-5-5-15 2.15v, and longer in the windows port (not sure how reliable that one is). But both nights so far when I've tried to run large fft and 3dm03 in loop, by the time i wake up, the thing machine check errored, which I'd imagine is ram. So it's back to more ram checking I guess.
edit: comparing the pictures, it looks like it might be the infineon af-3s. Cross checking with the ddr2 list, it looks like kingston is using af-3s on the hyper-x 6400 line. hmm

I got 980mhz 4-4-4-12 at 2.3v I can probably go a bit higher if a relax the timings to 5.
is it just me, or am I the only one used to considering hynix with lowend OEM PCs intended for grandma?
this was the d9 i mentioned @$27 each :D gona look for another set for 2 gig total that @5-5-4-11
