My new Phase unit courtesy of Gray.

I just wanted to start this thread to show off my shiny new Phase unit, and to thank its creator; Gray Mole. :)

Its taken a while to make, but im very happy with the end result. Im not going to say too much, as im sure Gray can fill you in on the technical details, but this is my new baby;

Take a v2000 and strip it down;

Choose some parts, including a stunning Aitor/Silencer enclosure, unseen controller and NL11F compressor;

Ive now got to do quite a bit of modding on the unit. Im planning on Anodising, Powdercoating or using acrylic to make the inside black. Im also going to make a cover for the drivebays to neeaten it up a a bit, and make a mount for 2x120mm fans to draw air over the harddrives. Ive also got to fit a waterloop for the GPUs and NB in there. Hope you all like it ias much as I do.:D

I'm glad you like how it turned out. It was a really 'picky' job this one. I wanted all the details to look 100% and it worked out well.

Unseen/Gsmaster's controller worked exceptionally well, and Ssilencer/@itor's evap and mount, well, you can see that for yourself, it's just beautiful.

The EL wire and LED setup on the line and head ended up looking good, and I'm glad you could get a nice pic in the dark of it, my cam didn't want to do the job. You've captured the look of it that I though only we'd be able to see in person.

The short tech list...

Unseen/Gsmaster's 'freeze pack' controller'
Ssilencer/@itor's Clear enclosure and amazing evaporator
White EL wire under braid and 4 x white LED's in the enclosure
Standard mach size condensor and desuperheat coil, painted matte black
7' of .028" captube, fully wrapped and taped w/long suction return
tuned for approximately 220w max capacity at -29c / 150w at -44c
Danfoss NL11F compressor
402a 'blend' for increased glide, allowing low fans for 24/7, high fans for benching with reduced temps
Sunon 120mm condensor fan, 2 x papst 80mm rear exhaust fans

All in that sweet V2000 case :D

It took more time than I'd wanted, but when you're putting together a V2000 cooling system, it's worth the extra to make it something special, and I hope it works very well for you :)

I'm certainly looking forward to seeing it in action and I hope your cpu gives you some nice results as well.

I especially like the colour coding and lights in the evap :)

Armaflex, dieletric grease, and the unit has a vapochill style backplate heater.

Painting the desuperheat coil made no appreciable difference to it's ability to shed heat that I could measure, and the fins weren't painted on the condensor, only the pipework, so it didn't make any difference to the performance there either.

Yup, that site girth mentioned is the place I normally get my V2000's from, about the best price around and they give decent service too.

The V2000 'can' be an easy enough phase mod to do, but I tend to overcomplicate it with prettyness :rolleyes: so it takes a lot more to do.

I'm definitely looking forward to the performance as well, making it look good is important and all that :D but it's the cooling power that we're all after isn't it?

Agreed Gray, when the case door is on all that counts is the OC. Unseen/Gsmaster's controller looks very good.

Just a bit of an update. Ive had quite a few troubles getting this rig together. In the end ive got a new mobo, cpu,ram and gpu. Buit its certainly heading in the right direction and im very pleased with the results;

Im not sure whats going on with the cpu/mobo temp sensor though. It reads -35 to -40 ish in the bios, which is about right, but it reads a constant 4 degrees in Core temp, a constant 19 degrees in TAT, and speedfan can't see a cpu temp at all.:confused:

Looks good, I'm actually doing some acrylic work in my V2000 to clean it up a bit, but remember to still keep good airflow over your motherboard. I lost a motherboard because I had too much water/phase cooling and neglected air cooling a bit too much and a mosfet went up in smoke.

I was giving someone a hand that I made up a V2000 for as well, and had the same issues with TAT. It was reading all over the place, though finally we found a temp monitoring program that was reading somewhere close to where it should be.

The bios temp sounds correct to be honest for the idle, and it's just a matter of using MBM or Speedfan and going into the settings and finding the right sensor to pick up the same one.

Really like how it's turning out though :) I mean, the cooling is what it is, and will get you some really nice results, but it's the look I'm impressed with more. I did what I could to keep it looking nice on my end of things but you've done wonders to make it really stunning :toast: I love the bay cover, that really get's rid of a lot of 'mess' and leaves the rest to be admired.

Use TAT like i have said, it'll read the inbeded Intel built, made crafted temp diode in the cores.

Well TAT says 19 degrees, so that aint right either.

have your tried speedfan 1.32beta?

I reinstalled speedfan with the latest version(not the beta) and that seems to read it fine. It seems to sit at about -30 idle and fluctuates between -30 and -10 under load. Getting some nice clocks out of it as well. Ive still have a fair bit to squeeze out of it as well, and still have to tweak memory timings and voltages;

And thanks to Grey Mines coming along great Ive Just instaled vista 64-bit before my quad chip comes :) Ive bean thinking of water cooling my NB but there ain't a lot of room for the block with my evap mount /corsair memory cooler and ATI x1800 cards :( but may have a go when the chip comes.

NB is already watercooled. It seems 3.7Ghz is roughly the most I can get orthos stable. I could probably get up to 3.8Ghz, but I would need to max the vcore at 1.7v, is this safe for 24/7 running? I did try a suicide shot at 4Ghz, and it posted and windows started loading, but then it kept rebooting half way through windows loading. The FSB and ram seems happy up to 505mhz ish, not sure which one is flaking out first, but it doesn't really matter as it seems the CPU's limit is 3.7-3.8. One thing I noticed though is when I run Orthos at 3.7, the cpu temp according to speedfan goes up to about 10degrees in positive numbers.. is this right or do I have a bad mount there? The evap-cpu delta @ idle is pretty good and is only about 5degrees or so, but at load the evap is reading -39ish, with the cpu at 10. Thats a 49degree delta!:confused:

Edit; Ive nearly managed to get 14s 1Mill superpi score as well, which is a great improvement from my 45s record on my old chip, lol.
