well that thing was boring. Anyway, overall avg was prolly 25-30 fps on the low setting.

yups.. on my avg fps is 83-92 for low setting and 1-3 for high setting

my 6400@3200, it's possible???

EDIT: This is benching from Videocard, but have support for quad core, thats all, its not CPU bench :)

I get almost the same framrates in low and high, I just get a higher cpu load in high compared to low. Too bad there isn't a "bench" function, or if there is the demo just goes on for longer that I have the patience to wait for ir to be finished..... :D

This is nothing more than propaganda for quad-core.

Probably coded so that it runs like garbage on dual-core, and fine on quad.

I wouldn't take this as to any indication of how actual quad-core supported games will run on dual-core. Single cores can still hold their own in gaming, can't they?

Sure they can! Just wait for the DX10 games/programs (with DX10 videocard) and the CPU with 1core will be enough for gaming, the card will do ~all job

I run the Intel Capabilities Forum web site (www.intelcapabilitiesforum.net), which has made the Ice Storm Fighters (ISF) game engine technology demo available.

The main goal of ISF is to demonstrate a game engine that can generate n-number of threads, depending on the number of cores present (1,2,4,8, etc.). More cores enables more helper threads to be spawned, so more onscreen "actors" can be in the scene while maintaining playable frame rate.

Thanks for the info. That "V8" system is looking good... :)

I ran the demo. It's an interesting CPU test. In low quality mode the lowest FPS I saw was 47, and the highest 181. In high quality mode lowest FPS I saw was 16 and highest was 58 FPS.

We've got a couple of V8 systems here at XS. Need to get a better VC, though. :)

i think this game needs an big l2 cache, because an e6400 3.2ghz scores way lower then e6600 at 3.6ghz
