all i can say, it's dated 11/12 and i've found it on coolaler.com forum, but improvement writen in chinese, sorry.
proabably worth a try. Asus is slow to load bioses lately on their site.
is this for the non wifi or wifi version?
it's the same for both...
that i did not know....thanks.
***seems to work fine. haven't noticed any improvements but i'm also using it for work at the moment so i will try and max it out later.
What is there left to fix on this mobo?
I guess it could always be more stable or more compatible with certain hardware, but I am still on the 0614 bios and have no issues with anything.
I've think the same with the 0711 , but after i install the 0804, i've noticed a much higher o/c, and 0711 has a lot improvement compared to 0614 :)
I have just begun running QX6700 on P5B Deluxe,
Does anyone know if this BIOS beta has better support for Quad Core in some way than my current BIOS : 0804 ?
I guess Il have a shot with this BIOS then, May fix the problems with my RAM not posting on a divider:)
The signature at 0908 looks convincing though, but I think I will wait ! :D
Attachment 54068
what do those mean?
that this guy is smarter than us because he knows how to read rom files?
all i know is that it is Hexadecimal but no clue what he is comparing other than the red characters and what they actually mean.
at least, the 0908 bios fixes the wrong ram/cpu information at boot.
OK, so what is the censuses here. Flash to the Beta 0908 bios, or stick with the 0804 bios? I get my motherboard x-mas day, otherwise I would be installing them and figuring it out myself. I just dont want anyone thinking im to lazy to try this out myself :-]
Flash to 0804, if 0908 is ok then flash it :)
Oke doke:)Quote:

This is a internal BIOS release designed to improve memory compatibility and to address a couple of timing issues with the on-board ADI audio that is causing hiss and static in certain situations.

Guys if you have 'Corsair XMS2 PC6400C5 TwinX' Don't go looking to this BIOS for a fix to your problems.
Has absolutley no affect, RAM will STILL not POST at all on a divider or with manual timings!
Im gonna go google for some threads about this prob, not sure but I think there are a few mem timings that do actually work, if I can't find them by tonight I think Im gonna go get some new ram!
your board is bad. i have same ram and it works fine.
I flashed to 908 and couldn't get the board to post at 3.9ghz, let alone be stable. Also, cpu speed was reported as 16.92ghz. Anyone else have this problem?
clear cmos ->load optimized deflaults -> overclock
With 0908, stability is the same for me.
tested with 4 hours prime
I get the same reported speed @bios splash screen.... with 0804 but besides that missreporting, everything is 100% rock solid @ 3,2ghz c2d6400 on air cooling.Quote:

did you use afudos to flash the 0908 bios in the first place?

0908!!!

Its something Corsair said they would look at talking to asus about, and BTW this is my second P5B Deluxe, both had the same problem.
What are your ram timings?
Edit: Heres the thread on Corsair's forums - http://www.houseofhelp.com/forums/sh...ght=P5B+Deluxe
I think theres another one somewhere concerning the POST problems, unless thats included in the link above..

it definitely fixed some kind of memory issue.....i don't get errors anymore in memtest at 500mhz.
yes, it definitely cleared up alot of issues from what I can tell. It will run 3.6ghz completely stable with lower voltage since I flashed, also its still not doing 4:5 too well, but I can boot 4:5 and have it stable for a lil longer. I just need to get a commando or a RD600 and ill be happy.
OK, so this 0908 Beta BIOS seems to be doing good? Does it by any chance fix the PCIe 1x issue?
wish to know that as well......Quote:

I have not noticed any other negative or positive issues at this point. I will continue to test and post any news worthy updates.
Happy Holidays everyone!
before my board wouldnt pass 1.25vstable with my chip, after it passed 12hr orthos. Usually had to give it 1.275v for a 400x8 now it runs like a charm on 1.25vQuote:

I just flashed to it. Haven't noticed any differences. So I guess I'll keep it.

looks like I'm the only one still on 0711....still haven't seen a bios update taht will improve anything worth while since. :)
flashed 0908... took down my computer for about an hour (longest offline period in its life)... my guess is the voltage and timing doesn't match up with my Crucial Ballistix... took a couple reset and switching ram sticks/slot to get it booted up first time on this BIOS..... now up and running with the same config as 0804... didn't affect or increase overclockability..
and it DIDN'T fix my PCI-E 1x issue.... well... took so much trouble to get it working.. im sticking with this BIOS for a little bit more.....
With 908 I seem to be able to OC my 6800 @ 3.6 with less volts.
Before I had to use 1.5625 to be Prime95 stable @ 3.6, now I'm stable at 1.4875.

Mel
just tested it and didn't find any improvement in OC....
although i did find that when system fans are on optimal it doesnt turn them up....i have a couple 12cm fans and they stayed at 800 rpm all the time idle or load, while with the 0804 bios they go up when the system is on load, so i went back to 0804
yes. like i said, probably the default vdimm isn't enough to get one of my sticks to boot...Quote:

Well.....it seems to have corrupted my RAID after uping my OC to 3.5 to 3.6.
I had to do a Windows Repair Install after going back to 804.
Mel
I'm having a problem, it seems like afudos can't open the ROM file...any ideas as to why?
Well....I was still having raid/drive coruption problems after reverting back to 804 and doing a repair install of Windows.Quote:

Now it wont!
So, WTF is going on here?
Mel
Didnt seem as stable at 4:5 memory. Went back to 804 as I did not see any improvements and 804 seems more solid.
I went from 0804 to 0908 beta, and the 0908 fixed my cold boot problem with windows xp x64. With 0804, whenever I cold-booted, windows froze at the boot up screen after 7-8 blue bars, and had to presse the reset button to get into the windows. With the 0908 bios, that problem is gone now.
I can't really say how it affects OC because I only OC'ed my e6300 to 2.8ghz. But, for some reason, the system feels more responsive after the bios upgrade.
WELL....I'M STILL HAVING CORRUPTION ISSUES after reverting back to 804!!!
Looks like it may be time for a reformat and reinstall.......MAN I HATE THIS :banana::banana::banana:!

did you lock both pci and pci-e frequencies?
YES...YES...AND YES....
HOWEVER......
I reflashed 908 and so far ave been Orthos stable for 45m @ 3.6 FSB 401 @ 1.5v, 4:5 @ 501 (1003Mhz) 4-4-4-5 @ 2.3v.
Static Read Control: Auto
PCIe: Auto
PCI: Auto
Spread Spectrum: Auto
SO......go figure?????
My thoughts are that this GSkill PC-8000 does NOT like anything over 1000MHz @ 4-4-4-5. May try 1100+ @ 5-6-6-15 later.
Mel
Leave spread spectrum disabled.
OK @ the above settings, Orthos ran for 5 hours, 37 minutes, & 54 seconds before execution was halted and system rebooted itself.
What do I need to tweak to alleviate this?
Thanks,
Mel
Anymore updates on this bios? I am still waiting on a board to replace my bad p5b or I would try it out myself.

I just flashed to 0908 and find that I am now stable 3.6@400 fsb at 1.44 vcore. Before with 0804 I needed 1.48 so this is a small improvement. Still have the 1x pcie problem when the VMCH is ran over 1.55v. I have the board vmodded and even setting bios at 1.45 and raising the NB voltage to 1.6 using my VR causes the problem.
I think my stability problems stem from this :banana::banana::banana:ty ass GSkill RAM I have.
It is supposed to be PC-8000 @ 4-4-4-5 2.4v, but if you even run it at 1000 @ 4-4-4-5 @ 2:3 or 4:5 it STILL corrupts data and is unstable. RMA here I come NewEgg.
I put some old OZC 5400 and am running rock solid @ 3.6 now.

Well....I'm tempted to order a 680i board just to see......

I tried bios 910, but for some reason it seemed to bluescreen where 908 was fine.
I think sometimes it's just coincidence or the changes back and forth between bioses that may result in these sort of problems which are probably not caused by the bioses themselves.Quote:

Use the latest version of Asus update(7.09.02). To be safe set the bios to defaults first and then boot into windows and then flash. I have flashed 0908 and 0910 without a problem.Quote:

After alot of headaches with 910 I flashed back to 804. Then no post, then the failed bios error...flashed to 302 from cd, post, flash 804 from floppy, no post failed bios..flash 302 from cd again, post boot, flash 804 from AsusUpdate in XP...all is ok. WTF is this??? Bad bios img on floppy?
AND NOW my GSkill seems to be running ok @ 4-4-4-12 2.25v 1050, FSB 350 X6800 3500MHz 1.5v, sb, nb, etc.. auto. Orthos ran for 4hrs 12min before failure.
How can I get this more stable now?
Thanks,

are they EVER going to fix 4:5 ram ratio
asus bios update program is odd. 2 months of beta bioses and nothing official resleased or in sight.
whats wrong with the 4:5 ratio? Im using the 4:5 ratio now with my HZ G.skills @ 490MHz 4/4/4/10 2.50VdimmQuote:
