I don't remember the stepping but it's an early one - I bought this chip as soon as they were available. It was bought in Belgium. I have not tried it on the prometia yet but think it might actually run better than my xp3000+ since it goes a bit faster than the xp3000+ on air. The xp3000 does 2.8ghz on the prometia.

BUT:
I can't even get into WinXP over 200FSB using the most relaxed DRAM timings and highest voltages. The DRAM is 2x 512mb sticks of Corsair XMS3500CL2 Rev. 1.1, and the mobo is an Epox 8RGA.
Anyway, I know I can kick this chip through the roof. It's my mobo/RAM holding me back, and I have NO IDEA what my problem is right now.
2420Mhz aircooled with SK7 and 80mm delta at 2.1v.
This is stable enough to run 3dmark.

I can run up to 218 MHz rock solid stable when using an AGP card, however when using the onboard graphics, I can't use more than 190-odd MHz FSB. :)Quote:

Clearly the ability to reach high FSBs is removed when using the onboard graphics. I could not get over 200 MHz FSB stable while using the onboard graphics even with 2.0 Vdd, however using an AGP card I have 3D Marked at 218 MHz dual channel and 225 MHz single channel. Clearly there is some sort of NB issue here, be it heat or inbuilt transfer limits, that limits the FSB used to less than 200 MHz.

It is not good news but it is quite old now and maybe there is a fix. Basically some bartons just don't like 200FSB.

/\/\/\ Very nice. Did you have to do anything special to hit such a high FSB with your 8RGA/Barton combo? I have an 8RGA and I can barely pass 200FSB.

for the 8rda+ and 8rga just put off the jumper on the mobo to force 133fsb and after you will get 200 and more
all AMD with 333fsb don't like high fsb....you can cut bridge to force 133fsb or on 8rda,8rga just remove the jumper to force 133fsb....just try it....you will see....that work great for me!
Yep, I just pulled the jumper off and I'm running at 225FSB with 1.8Vdd. Thanks!

Damn, these oc's are too great:( They might be prometeia cooled, but it's still great. I'm only running@10,5x223. Maybe time for some more experiments!! I would just love to hit 2,5Ghz or above:) Maybe the Geil ram is holding me back, but i'm getting some corsair this week, so maybe i can push it higher. I haven't tested many other multi's so i hope there's something i can do about those poor 2343 Mhz;)

The 2500+ I used in the roundup (stickied up top) hit 2400MHz/200 FSB dual-channel with an SLK-800u and 2.0v.
Don't know the stepping info, though...
Bump - Epox users only need to remove jclk jumper - no l12 mod necessary!
Mine won't do more than 2460 into Winblows :( Maybe my cheapass RAM's holfing me back, but I don't think so, as I also tried hight multi's.
How much vcore would I dare to give her under Maze 3 / Heatercore ? Won't ever do more than 35 stressed @ 2.03 Vcore :drool:
