Ya I bought that nintendo wii from some kid, I'm 34 yrs old and I just had to see what the hype was about, after screwing with the wireless to get on the internet and finding out their WPA2 doesn't use all proper paraphrase characters I had to turn off all encryption change the channel on my wireless to get online, 3-4 hours of fooling with it I was prepared the next day to put it back in the box and sell it (before even trying 1 game on it)
Wife tried these new motion controllers with Bowling and Boxing, long story short she has sore muscles from boxing for 2 hrs straight. Worth it to keep it just to see her having fun with it. Ya graphics are very childlike with people no arms and no legs and cartoon looking things. I am very surprised though at how good the composite video looks, trying to find component but those cables are nowhere and people trying to sell for stupid amounts on ebay.

I dont know. I've updated nearly every board I've had in the last 3-4 years in windows and this is the only problem I have ever had.
I did try the crash free bios, that was the first thing I tried...
but its useless.
if the board can't post, it cant do anything.
so I really reallllllllllllllly wish I could someone in the head that works at Asus and ask them what the hell are they thinking??

I feel like something just pulled my heart out really really slowly.
today was such a damn good day too, cause I broke 4.67 ghz with my E6400 setting a record for that CPU... then I was excited to finally have a new BIOS for the 680i... I been checking 2-3 times a day.
then to have the board just die...
that is just mean.
to have so much luck in the morning, then in the afternoon have it all ripped away from you.
I am feeling kinda burnt out now.
I am just gonna go sit down, eat alittle and watch the simpsons.
I need to chill out, cause this board being down is really getting to me.

latest version of winflash is needed on newer boards, reason for this is the some of the older versions don't reset all areas of the bios. The new version of winflash is up on the dfi site for the 975xg..
It has way more reset options, though DFI tell you which to use. DFI had the Asus problem too a few months back, but the newer winflash helped solve bad flashes from xp.
Ofcourse if you're already on that version then I'm stumped...

all I did, was remove the bios chip and battery for a hour.
put it back together, and it worked.
with NO HELP from Asus might I add.
no help on thier forums, no reply to my email, no tech support nothing.
completly and totally ignored me.
they make a decent board, but they sure treat people like garbage.
Happened to me many times with my Asus P5B-Delxue. Suddenly it just die then the next day after clear cmos for 12 hrs it work again.
:D So get back to benching already!!!!:D I'm watching your results, as I'm try to decide what board I want to hold me over until the DFI 680 & then ABits IN9 32 Max. I'm considering this one.
Kunaak I had the same issue. The only difference was my board would boot but hung saying the CPU had been changed at every reboot. The key is to call Asus Tech Support using the phone numbers in the manual that came with the board. These people work in a southern CA office. When you email them it usually falls on a tech who can hardly speak a lick of English and may live in another country. I made 2 calls and within 2 days had every revision of the BIOS chip delivered to my home for free.Quote:
