This release of Catalyst® introduces software CrossFire™ support for any combination of Radeon® X1900 and X1950 installed in a system running either the Windows XP or Windows XP Professional x64 Edition operating system.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Note: Software CrossFire™ is not supported on the Radeon® X1950 Pro product line.
I wonder if they support crossfire on Nforce 4 in the future. Or is it already possible with custom software or some other trick ? I've been reading some stuff about it but no real answers.
i have here two x1950 , one x1950xtx 512mb and one x1950xt 256mb , so so this means i can run crossfire ??
regards
I highly doubt this is true. Either ATI worded that sentence badly or we are looking far too deeply into it. There has been no mention of it being that easy to run crossfire, infact the opposite has been said. From reading around on other forums people have not been able to reproduce what ATI is claiming on any chipset with any video cards that weren't properly hooked up with a master/slave and the dongle on an ATI chipset.

What are the results of the new cat's? Any noticable difference?

Apparently these can run crossfire without the master card!!!

I'm hoping someone can confirm this with 2 x x1900xtx....

We have just received a Catalyst driver based on the 6.11 version that is supposed to eliminate the need for a master card, effectively enabling Crossfire with two regular graphics cards. We’ve put it to the test on our Conroe 975X setup with two ASUS EAX1950XTX cards, and guess what – it works!
:slobber: :slobber: :slobber:
GOOD JOB from ATI :D
regards
GREAT. now see if it works on 2 X1900XTX on another chipset other than 975.
What the hell why isn't this getting more attention?
Let's see some benches!
I am confirming these run the X1950 Pro with Crossfire...Great drivers...good job ATI:toast: :woot:
with or without the bridges? Also, I was hoping they would allow us to individually OC each card and to play around with the fan speed for each card as well.Quote:

Not individual OCing, but only one card as usual.Quote:

to enable crossfire, i needed to have both bridges installed
crossfire is still not great on the 965 chipset :(
FEAR won't even load with it switched on
Systool huh? That's a new one on me...but then again, I am as old as the pyramids:toast:
Oh don't use systool for OCing though. I just used it to show that only one card it's acutally OCed when using CCC overdrive.Quote:

from the release notes
So can I just purchase another X1950XTX and put it in XFire with my other one? Will this work fine on my Bad Axe?
I guess this means you cant' mix and match X1900XT(X)s and/or X1950XT(X)s, but not the X1950Pros. Otherwise I don't this statement.Quote:

Another question remains, can this be used on nForce4 chipsets? LoL. Yea rite, but it doesn't hurt to ask?
Does freecableguy or someone with two x1900xtx have the time to test it?? I am curious & will try to ask or search the ati site.
