what is out right now that will work :)
is the fan noisy ?
nope just want to be able to set it at what i want
plus the fact it runs 71c at idle
I need the answer to this aswell. THere is ntune but you need a nforce motherboard. My card idles @ 58c evga 8800gtx
now mine idles at 66 we need some aftermarket cooling.
mine is idle @ 63c Forsa 8800GTX :(
What are your load temps guys? Idle is not important, load is.
any idea how to monitor the temp during peak load?
Rivatuner does a log. I think this card is not supported, though it should be VERY SOON.Quote:

Been using ATI Tool. It's kicking the :banana::banana::banana::banana: out of my case temps tho. :D
Install Ntune and have it add the shortcut. It's basically the new NV Panel, but w/ everything in it.
Ntune works pretty good 100% fan speed and its pretty quiet
Case ambient 26C
Idle 54C
Load 77C
XFX 8800GTX, just leave ATiTool running, it'll tell you the max temp.
Yes the new nvidia ntune 5.5 works with my p5wdh and now I can control fans speed.
:)
Get the 97.02 drivers and the latest NTune and you can set your fan to 100%.
Made my 8800GTX run 10C cooler.

nice good info here
Anyone with other options?
nTune hangs when I run it. (nForce 3600 chipset).
Try this program here.

This is NOT uploaded by myself but instead from another user (Eva2000). He recieved this program with his Gainward 8800GTS and it allows for overclock and fan control of the 8800 series cards. Since all cards are made from the same manufacturer you should be able to use this piece of software with your current card. I believe it allows you to have settings stick after a reboot but I'll let you guys share on that as I don't yet have a card to test it with myself. Give your thanks to Eva2000 for sharing this.
I have a 8800GTS on the way and it would be cool if someone can confirm a program that lets you set the fan speed AND "have the profile loaded automatically with every reboot". Thanks
OMG dude, do you have it at 100% 24/7? I was just adjusting it then and 100% is waay too loud for me for general use. Maybe for benching as it does make a huge difference to temps over letting the bios control it automatically.Quote:

I guess the manufacturers think HIGH to be specifying such conservative settings for the fan.
Anyone?Quote:

Just thought I'd note the latest version of ntune works fine on this mobo too.
The best soft is Expert Tool from Gainward.
Will it work on a XFX card? Moreover, do the profiles (Fan control and Overclocks) load automatically with each reboot?Quote:

Man this sucks, my 8800GTS will be here in a week and I need a solution for OCing, as well as fan control which will stick after each reboot. Moreover, I heard that the drivers for the 8800 series are pretty bad so far. Is there a new release on the horizon?
latest is still 97.02 as far as I know that works properly with this card.
Ntune can control the fan but its way too loud at 90% and above ...I have mine at 60% which is very quiet
room temp: 31C
IDLE: 76C
LOAD: 89C
cant wait to get the clips from Swiftech for my MCW60
I noticed that anything up to about 75% is basically inaudible over the rest of the noise in my case, and so only when you have the fan set at around 80% does it make any difference from having the fan set at 0%.Quote:

There really is a massive difference when the fan reaches the high % - i've noticed setting the fan to 100% has reduced temperatures by up to 30 degrees C over the auto setting!!!
