I hope this board/bios has some of the features I have come to love from my Ultra-D such as thermal throttling for the onboard 3 pin fan headers depending on temps which of course is user defined as well as the power on by set date/time. I have found this very usefull a few times when im not around and need my pc booted up itself for whatever reason.

I too am a little weary on the 2 x 8x pcie slots. I was hoping for 2 x 16x for the upmost in performance even if only by a margin when compared to 2 x 8x slots.

dont need anything faster than whats been supplied.

2*8x slots is good enough for sli/xfire

and the 2x slot easily provides more than enough bandwidth for a physics card

and you know this how? the only disapointment is the 2x8 lanes and the 2x lane they should have aleast made it 4x. but if it can oc as well as the 965 we will have a real winner!!!!!:slobber:

there are plenty of reviews showing that the difference is minimal, though i guess here at XS, every bit counts when trying to break records :D

I'm thinking the same. That document has a very low level of polish.

Things like the DFI banner simply having had the hue changed to make the features on the board blue and purple... when have DFI made a board that looks like that?

DFI could also put pictures of the product on marketing information. It just looks like someone has gone by the initial specs in the DFI roadmap and extrapolated some features and made some assumptions...

But we'll see

that and this DDRII667 is PC6400 and DDRII800 is PC7100 um isn't it 5300 and 6400? Also at the bottom look at the pic, it says it uses the Karjan Module for sound but it clearly shows Sound Headers. They wouldn't be there.

If SB600 is connested with 4 of them, it remains 44 for the PCIe slots it would make sense to have 2x16 for CrossFire, and 1x8 for PhysX, and 4 foru what ever reason (say additiona RAID controller). 2x8 for grapphics, and 1x2 for physix is just under high expectations!

I think RD600 was supposed to have at least 2 x16 lanes. Xpress 3200 chipset has this already, so why would they go back to x8.

No the original material straight from DFI on this board was never 2X16 graphics lanes. It's has been said time and time again and people refuse to believe it for some reason. The saving grace is supposedly the isolated PCIe lanes for graphics which can be overclocked much further than previous boards.

Yeah rd600 was believed from the beggining to have 2x8x, i remember because lots of people were angry that it had 2x8 while the rd580 had 2x16.

However, this got lost in hundreds of other rumors and now i dont know what to believe.

You have no idea what you are talking about. The reason for the "mspaint look" is that it is a 16bit image rather than 32bit, hence the dithering. Other than that everything lines up fine, which you would know if you looked at the image for more than 2 seconds :rolleyes:

Quite apart from the fact that this image is already known to be genuine and was posted a while ago.:slapass:

Nope, officially 1066 FSB, flaunted as 1600 easily possible. I don't know why everyone thinks it's 2x 16x PCIe slots, it's even written in the PDF file that electrically, they are 2x 8x PCIe slots, and the last slot is 2x PCIe.

RD600 is basically a reversed engineered 975x chipset with improvements.

The whole point of those is to have less traces on the board though. Having the plug literally right next to the PCI-E slot eliminates long thick traces from the regulators around the ATX plug all the way to the PCI-E slot.
Putting the molex plugs any where else would just change from having thick traces from the PCI-E to the ATX plug to having thick traces from the PCI-E to the new molex plug. More of a side step than a step forward :)

Haven't looked at Intels ATX spec pdf in awhile but Im pretty sure the molex part isnt a standard. Just that the PCI-E slot has to be able to produce a certain amount of juice. Having the molex there just lessens costs and makes room for other crap on the board.

About the purple colour scheme...

I know this is jumping back a bit in the conversation, but the purple colour scheme looks like it is an older agp 478 board with the colours inverted (although the black pcb is still black - hmmm). Nothing wrong, just unsual and useless. However, if DFI were to make a board with that colour scheme I'd buy one straight away. I don't need it, but that electric purple colour, I think, just looks fantastic. Just my two cents.

:D According to the pics I noticed the socket is placed pretty much upwards on the board with a lot of ICs and other stuff just around it.

So it will be a hard job to prepare it for phase change............:stick:

Quite the opposite, there's nothing significant around the socket at all, certainly less than what's around the socket on all the other boards available due to the digital PWM.

Should be a very easy board to insulate as a matter of fact.

So what's the proper name for it now? Is it DFI LanParty UP ICFX3200-TR2/G. or something with rd600 in it? i wonder because I've seen different from site to site. I need the proper name so I can get it right away. (contacts at e-tailers).

yup you found it, its first result on google :)
