Connect3D's SECRET REVEALED!! (Could others be hiding it too?!!)
-
Ahahahahah lol. Rebadged ATI's.
-
Omfg, we´ll gonna die!!!
Is there a Pricedifference?
-
this wise hugley widespread on the x1900's
the sapphire I card I had, underneath was the same as the ATI ones as were many peoples connect3d's among others, strangely enough I havnt brought myself to tearing the cool HIS sword sticker off my card.
-
hahahah they literally take that "rebadge" foreals..hahah
didnt even bother to put a good effort to it :slapass:
-
nothing new.
a long time ago i had a Creative geforce 5900XT wich had a MSI sticker below the Creative one.
btw who out there does make their own cards in Nvidia and ATI land?
-
Buy any Pny graphic card, remove the label and you'll see a MSI label under it.
From MSI's own personal Not good enough bin
-
my Powercolor X800XL was an BBA ^^
-
i believe sapphire builds all the ati cards, bba's too. they're all the same. i prefer sapphire cards coz they're always the cheapest somehow.
-
They actually manufacture the cards - so ATI and all the other rebadgers are paying Sapphire and marking them up from there.

Actually Sapphire makes ATi card samples.
But, MSI "is supposed" to do the same... but I think one of my MSI RX1900XTX have their sticker over another sticker :D
-
Um... I have a Sapphire X800GT, below the sticker, there is the original ATI one...

i got a PNy 7800Gt wich does 515/1250 with a zalman.
But i have the feeling that most ATi cards come from Sapphire.

My Sapphire 9800XT has an BBATi 9800XT sticker under the Sapphire sticker on the hsf. :)
-
I read somewhere that Sapphire is possibly ATi's retail division?
-
My friends x1900xtx,
ATI on a Sapphire on a ATI.

same thing on my x1900XTX hsf sticker.. quite funny really. saphire did such a poor job at hidding it you can plainly see the ATI ruby sticker beneath it.
-
I think these are made by saphire in the same place.
It may be that the coolers are supplied with the stickers on them from another source then saphire just stick there sticker ontop of the ATI one.
Wouldnt supprice me if all saphires cards were like this. Its not going to be cost effective to peel off the ATI stickers if they are supplied like that.
-
On my old MSI 6800GT (first revision, before they made their own coolers for it, AGP), it wasn't just the fan sticker, it was the entire cooler's sticker... Nalu underneath some wierd centaur-thingie :)
(pretty good oc'er though, 430/1130 on a VF700-cu)
Best Regards :toast:

agreed.

its the basic reference cooler that ATI has made - the individual brands put the stickers over the BBA decals on the orig. cooler and flash the card with their own BIOS
voila, you have a branded card *shrug*

and add their own sticker with their isbn/model name ;)

Removed my ATi Radeon X1900XT sticker and there was nothing under it.
Now I'm "sticker-less". :p:
-
When I sell my card I'll put an Nvidia sticker under the Sapphire/ATI one just to confuse people

Hehe... :D

Dunno if its the same with ATI but i remember reading something that the first rev of Nvidia cards are all made by 1 company and from there they are distributed to the partners.
Thats why first rev cards often look the same no matter from wich partner it is.
They get them first rev cards with attached cooler, some partners take the trouble to remove the reference cooler and put on their own but thats rare, most just put on another sticker.
after the first rev the partners are allowed to make their own cards.
But thats i guess the reason why Connect3d can usualy sell their cards at a slightly lower price.
Put on a new sticker and throw it int he box and ship it.

I think cards are made by the different AIBs, but heatsinks are made by ATI.
