Very nice.
Boot or clockgen'd up?
What memory?
Maybe a 1333 strap on this board..
boot with 6 x 450
2 x 1024 MB G.Skill DDR2 F2-6400CL4D-2GBJS
How are you booting at 6x450 when you don't have an X6800?
I have an E6700 ES and the multiplier ratio is greyed out in the BIOS?
Nice, now vmod it @2,3volts, cool it with dry ice, and get to 600 FSB with 975x :p: :D Nice board you got man! ;)
New P5W DH bios enables lower multi's. Even without that you could lower them with Crystal CPUID.Quote:

That is the board in your sig at least, so I assume you are referring to it.
 Where to get ??? Can it be used on the P5WDG2-WS PRO also ??? :confused:Quote:

I desperately need to know how the OP managed to change the multiplier to *BOOT* at 6x450.....
Looks like he is using Bios 0209 in the pic.
very promising
congrats
Well spotted! If 0209 unlocks the multi I'm going to be very happy. :) I can't WAIT to get to work tomorrow that's all I can say! Almost tempted to drive the 5 miles in now to flash it lol, even though its midnight here!Quote:

Yup I posted a link to it earlier.. thanks though :) Sadly for me I'm at home and my P5W64 is at work on a bench so I can test it all :( :( :brick:Quote:

How high FSB can you get with the x9 multi ?Quote:

@webwilli, m8 i have the 64 pro aswell, dont have the cahnce to try out th\e new bios till tomorrow, can you check if you still have the overvoltage problem?
I wonder if vCore is tied to high FSBs?
Flashed this BIOS, indeed the multiplier is available (I've got 6x - 20x on my E6700 ES), plus a few extra memory options none of which I understand lol... couldn't get it to boot at 6x450 though, just wouldn't switch on - and the next time I powered it on it moaned about "Overclocking failed".
I'd left vCore on AUTO since 6x450 is only 2.7Ghz, but I guess you need to up the vCore as soon as you start beefing the FSB up, regardless of what speed your CPU is running at?
Extra memory settings in the 0209 BIOS (Chipset section) are:
tRAS
RMS
tRFC
tRD
Here's what I've found so far...
I needed to up vCore to 1.4250v in BIOS (1.48v actual in PC Probe) to get PC to POST properly, regardless of multiplier. Overvolting problem is still there. It seems even though I'm underclocking my CPU at 6x405 (2430Mhz), the motherboard behaves - at least at POST - as if its still on default (for me 10x).
Once in Windows I was able to Clockgen the FSB up to 450Mhz. Tried 475Mhz but it locked up. I guess I would need more vCore.
I'm not prepared to stick 1.6v through my CPU at air cooling so I'll resume testing once I've got my Vapo. I suspect the board will hit 500FSB with ease, though if my suspicions are correct I might not be able to boot it at 500FSB because it would be trying to boot at 10x500 (5Ghz) on an E6700.
My board is a retail board bought from a shop, which is totally stock at the moment (haven't even removed the wrapping on the NB cover or changed the TIM)
I could be wrong though....

As for the strap, AFAIK, ASUS 975 boards doesnt have 1333 strap, just 1066.
450 no prtoblem with this board. Nice FSB there Durzel:toast:
@Webwilli...500 is awesome, good job:)
wow nice board mam.. :) push it a little.. :D

I thought P5W64 Pro and P5WG2 Pro use tge sane BIOS
@webwilli
Could you sir plese do some benchies of games with your 7950 and what performance you get after overclocking it to 3.6ghz.
 Yes - important !!! AndrewYang somewhere posted this, they may use the same named different.Quote:

BTW, did someone tried to flash it on a DG2 ???
How could they use the same BIOS when one board has PCI-X slots and the other doesn't? Unless there is a one-size-fits-all BIOS for the "Quartet" chip?Quote:

 I think most of the boards are able to do this - it's all depending on the right BIOS.Quote:

I just need to be sure, I suppose the 0209 BIOS only unlocks the multi for X6800 and ES CPUs right?
Nope, it unlocks it for retail too. Enjoy! :)Quote:

Incidentally I can't set over 10x multiplier on my ES E6700 with 0209, so in that respect its identical as the retail chips.
Durzel and timko: Thank you very much.
hey let us know how you get on mounting the LS on that board - it looks a bit of a tight fit with those caps on one side :eek:Quote:

btw use some dielectric as it won't ever hurt but it might just save your £200 mobo :explode2: :eek2:
while yer at it ya may as well lacquer it too
The most advanced I've gone on cooling is water so I don't really know jack about phase, other than It-Gets-Stuff-Really-Cold™, but I thought the decision to using dielectric was a no brainer? ie use it or die :)Quote:

Amazing FSB.
Congratulations.
Mine will be here on Monday or Tuesday at the latest.
Can't wait have the latest bios ready to be flashed once it arrives.

It looks like Asus has removed the 0209 Bios from their official website. I am wondering if there is a problem with that Bios since they do not list it anymore.
