Rockin some 1m, 8m, and PIFAST with Hipro-tech DDR MAXI

Hipro your Maxi is the :banana::banana::banana::banana: man :toast: , nice clean stable power for vdimm throughout whole voltage range. Can't say how impressed I am with this thing. You are a jedi knight bro :D.
I couldn't wait for the ddr2 pcb to test it out, so I removed the choke coils on some mobos,and went ahead and soldered right to location in circuit with dimm slots, and it worked like a charm :). Now tested on both am2 and lga775 with sucess.

So nothing major, just some 1m and 8m,really pushing the memory mostly on the air/chilled air runs as too rule out other factors such as NB and cpu speed in testing the MAXI's effectiveness. NO special OS tweaks used. This b1 I have been using can only do about 3700-3900on air but it really depends on the cooler(between stock and mini-typhoon) I use and the temp of the air. Nice cold AC ducted near the cpu makes a nice difference. I pushed the cpu harder with ln2 on last benches. Anyways, testing is going great and it for sure rocks on the p5wdh and here are some highlights from that testing:

This maxi is my new favorite weapon in the overclocking arsenal.
I really like the fact that I can solder it in for other things than just vdimm George. Would I be able to run both of gtX VGA mems with one MAXI??:D

can you run those sticks at max 4-4-4-8 timings under LN2 with upper divider. i reckon it will be faster than 3-3-3-x at mid-400 as those particular sticks have no issues past 600MHz with that vdimm i'm sure :D

yah they seem like a pretty nice set so far. I got some c5's too, but these are better .. and thanx for all that info. I think I will try lots of diff combos now for some 2d action on air, really see what these sticks are capable of, now that I know I have some good clean unlimited voltage. I was doing some nice runs around ddr580 with 4-4-3-5 on DFI AM2/asus m2nsli with them and it did seem quicker than LL runs, but that was am2 so not entirely the same situation.

Nice results Vince! 491 3-3-3-5 is killer! To bad low lat is slow :( You really need to try 4-4-3-5 on ln2 with CPU 400*13=5200 and ram 2:3 @ ddr1200 :D

Depents on what mobo will you use......Some need to unsolder a coil like k|ngp|n did and then plug the DDR2 PCB into a DDR2 slot......;)

One rather off topic question/comment if I may. We've been seeing plenty of Pi action in the 5.3+ range from you and others, but 3D speeds appear to drop dramatically on LN2 (even DI it seems). On air and SS I've seen way wider ranges of stability than I'm used to, but this is looking even more drastic. You ran at 5.3 flat for 1M, but dropped nearly 200MHz for 8M and a hair further for 3D. On air and SS the gap is more like 80MHz or so...seems like something is falling apart at extremely low temperatures?

Stunning results nonetheless, and a stunning product by hipro. :toast:

You basically said exactly how it is Gautam. There seems to be quite a range on this chip between what is say SS,1m,8m,3d01,or 3d03 stable(requires highest level of stability out of any other benchmark IMO).
Maybe Hipro can make a mod to fix that :D. This holds true for ALL levels of cooling. Air, water, chilled water, DI, and ln2. To be honest 16m seems to require around same level of stability as 8m and I dont mess with 32m at all..ever. For sure the overclockability of the chip has alot do with how well it scales at diff loads. I'll try some others hopefully soon. I am not complaing, as I never dreamed I would be running 3d at nearly 5200mhz when these chips were first previewed some time ago. I am blown away with what INTEL did hear. I guess they were paying attention when the dothans were tearing up the FX57's on the orb. I can actually 8m this chip with the 12x at around mid 5200mhz on the chip, but this 2min 7sec 8m score at nearly 5100mhz is better IMO because it's all ram speed pulling it.
Tweaked like the SP pro's do, I bet could even challenge for WR.
Really just showing what the maxi can do with the ram so far LL and high volts. I don't have most of my highest 3d scores posted, so 3d speed on this chip is better than it may seem ;). With Athlons, 1m/pifast/8m/01 stability in addition to 05,06, and 03 stability in that order of difficulty, was more linear at all levels of cooling. But then again, with cold bug we weren't ever able to push those chips to the "edge" like we are doing with these where the stabiliy wheres thin on the top end depending on load.

Don't forget about my engraved name plate George :). I'll do some more testing with p5wdh and let you know. I have a p5b here to test it on as well.
You guys will still want the ddr2pcb of course, as it's a pain sometimess to desolder coils off of mobo's and it could void the mob warranty lol ;). Still nice to know that it works without it.

Yeah, this ram speed effect sure is hard to get used to. :p: Perfect for our purposes otherwise though.

Nice Vince! :up: Maximizer really makes that 6400C3 shine! But pleeeaseee, try CAS4 clocks :) With this voltage at your disposal you should be able to give a shot at 1300 8-4-4-4.0, seriously :) Although, I'm kind of doubt, P5W is able to clock RAM this high... I don't even want to start imagining what that kind of bandwidth would do for 8M or Pifast at 5.15-5.20GHz :eek:

Using stock intel pentiumD cooler + default vcore only can get me to approx 3.6ghz George.
With 1.4-1.45vcore aprox 3.7ghz with stock cooler:

Anything over 3.7ghz with stock cooler + no AC, 1.45vcore+ and I was seeing temps in bios at 64-67c.
Backing off on the cpu and fsb a little, only pushing the ram 4-4-3-1 and ddr570 wasn't too hard for 1m at those timings around 2.66 vdimm on the maxi:

Man, k|ngp|n and Hipro are both legends. I remember seeing stuff about k|ngp|n long before ever joining XS. He still to this day has the highest OC ever reached with an Athlon chip, at least according to CPU-Z. This thread just shows why these guys are as well known as they are. They're both masters of the OC world. Although I wish Hipro would send one of those DDR Maximizers my way...:D

Oh what a difference a little cooler ambient and a better quality air cooler makes on these chips. Sitting in bios at 3.84ghz/1.6v with THERMALTAKE silent lga 775 and around 5c+ cooler ambient temps and pulling below 60c bios temps now. This little air cooler is pretty badass:

These are about the max 1m and 8m I could pull today on p5wdh on air. Higher fsb with diff multi/div combo wasn't flying.

Yeap sure you can........Before doing that, test it with the DDR1 PCB (not sloted anywhere - "on air") that you already have so as to adjust it and them put it onto mobo.....

Corsair 6400C3 is SCREAMING at 3volts with the MAXI now :). Was a little tricky to get the mobo to boot over 3v, but I got it. I hope I dont kill these sticks lol. Still scaling at 3volts though, so I think there is more left. Higher fsb with/higher mem speed and LL seems to require a hell of alot of vdimm on this board:

Here is the Max 1m and 8m I could get with 9x on Air with this chip with both cores enabled. So close to 4ghz 1m, but chip just can't do it with an air cooler. Really starts cooking under load at 1.6v actual it seems, and puts it right on the edge. LOL..my bench setup is looking like the delorean from Back to the Future. I have a rigged baffle on the ac ducting multiple 4inch line off of it and million 80 and 120mm fans and cords running everywhere, not exactly everyday aircooling heh. Had at least three or four zingers this week sticking my fingers or knuckles into fans. Air cooling is fun :D
If I drop down to 8x, the fsb will scale up to around 453-455 on air say 1m stable, but still slower cpu speed. Board was not wanting to run past 455fsb,without some more effort on my part.

High fsb + high ram speed + high cpu speed kicks the chips ass on the air cooler for sure. Tuff to run all three variables at full tilt on air. Usually have to back down on one or the other.

Great chip and air result Pedro :toast:, You have 120mhz on me with that cpu. That has to help the time alot. My CPU's are limiting factor for me on benches near 4ghz on air, not the ram. Either of my cpu's won't go over 4020mhz 1:1 using the air cooler I have here atm. Most of the benches really are about just pushing the ram mhz as far as I can using the maxi so far. Close to 4137mhz with the ram speed at 610mhz+ 4-4-3-5 using 2:3 div and much lower fsb will be lower than 12.4sec I think.
I'll test some more today.

@kunaak..thanx for the info man. Got plenty of clips lying around here :p:. De-soldering the coils was a :banana::banana::banana::banana::banana: at first, especially on some am2 boards where it's bigger sized. Now I can take them off and back on fairly quick.

Working on getting this C5 kit stable over 620mhz now 1m 4-4-3-5. They seem to clock a little better than the C3's on this p5B and they shine on the Maxi too:

Figured you had to be or had it wired in somewhere out of the pic. All my tests on both p5b and p5w are done using no maximizer pcb at all, just straight vdimm feed to the slots directly from the maxi in case anyone was wondering. It may bypass some of the vdimm vreg ciruitry on the mobo this way as well. I am sure HIPRO could answer that. My ddr2 pcb should be showing up soon.
