OMG
I bought a dq6 rev C1 5 hours ago :p:
congrats
Wow !
Andre, what is the mobo rev. printed at the PCB ? also any physical difference ?
Pic please !!!!
Hmm, intresting. When was rev. C2 of 965 chiped released?
Officially, they should be shipped to manufacturer warehouse "few days" ago:p: !Quote:

Shouldn't the thread be titled "602 FSB is easy on cherry picked hardware"?
Not trolling, but thread titles like this give the wrong impression. Or maybe we're supposed to just treat all XIP reviews with a grain of salt? :(
hmm....will the P5B Deluxe i ordered on tuesday have the new revision? or is it pretty much a shot in the dark right now like everything else?
additionally: @ Durzel, crap belongs in your ass or in the toilet, not on the forum.
What about the Bios Settings (Voltage) ????

Nice work Andre!
O.o 602..
I want this mobo..
Andre ! What mobo rev. for C2 ?

G = Gold (i.e. *not* beta)
1.03G is current shipping version, this obviously just includes the new spin of the 965 chipset (revision C2). impressive i must say.
@Andre - did you select 6x in BIOS from that P5B? BIOS rev please if so. for some reason my board won't POST when I select 6x for multiplier in BIOS with my E6400 B2.

i was expecting 2048...:(
Do you have a link to the 0614 BIOS? The latest BIOS I've seen are 0609...
EDIT: NM I found it.
I have built a couple of pc's at work with the p5b deluxe rev 1.03G and have notice the temps reported from asus probe almost match coretemp.
this is on 2 pc's so far both with E6600 could they have changed how the motherboard reads the temps ?
how does yours compare and AndreYang.

Guess its not in their "to be fixed" priority list, ... or ... it can't be fixed since they're using the new Winbond sensor chip ! :p:Quote:

also does this help with higher multipliers?
Thanks
So do all Rev 1.03G P5B Deluxe boards come with C2 revision?
It'll take a while before these show up in the retail channel. 965 looks bettter and better. I'm having a lot of fun with my C1 right now. I'm warming up to the idea of 965 and 7950GX2. Thanks for sharing Andre.
My Rev 1.03G is a Rev. C1 :(.
Bah.. No 600 FSB for me :(.

Running on a gay 350W PSU. Please excuse the OC.
Were you RAM limited ? Couldnt you set a lower divider ? Or got worse results ?Quote:

AndreYang -
Thank you for sharing your 600fsb with us. This is remarkable. Your performance will only get better from here.
congrats bro :toast:
@Andre
I am also interested in buying the Asus P5B-Deluxe Motherboard
for building a new PC-System.
On the question "What mobo rev. for C2 ?" you said "The same P5B Deluxe C1, Rev. 1.03G"
The question for me now is: "How can I identify the new revision?"
Do you have a hint for me how I could ensure to get the C2 revision of this board?
(For example buying the board over an online shop)
Did you know when the board will be available for sale here in Europe (Germany)?
Did you know if there would be a P5B-E Deluxe Version with C2 Stepping
of this board?
It would be nice if you could respond to my questions.
Thank you.

awesome Andre
grats
I wish I had your connections ;)
I don't know if I should be writing this here but here I go.
I'm about to start school the last week of September. I'm trying to build a computer that will last me for a while. I have already bought the processor (e6400), case, power supply, and memory. I'm eyeing a $320 X1900XTX, but am unsure if I should buy it. As of right now, all I really need to get to build the computer is the mobo and the graphics card. I'm pretty certain that i'm getting the P5B-Deluxe. After seeing this post, I really want the rev C2. Should I wait till October when they are most likely in stock or just jump and get a rev C1? If I do wait, do you think that the $320 proce for the X1900XTX will no longer be a good deal?
I guess this is a two part question since i'm not going to be able to finish the computer without a mobo and might as well try and see if I could save money elsewhere.
Waiting till October shouldn't be a real problem for me, but I don't think I can go any longer.
No. None have the C2 revision yet. The mobo version (1.03G) is the same regardless of the chipset revision. About availability?Quote:

Other than the overclocking of the C2...what other differences are there that are not in C1?
I hardly need anything more than 450FSB.... for a user like me, what did i miss out on by getting the c1?
Are you guys kidding me?!?!?! Great JOB!!! 600FSB?!?!?! Anything even remotely clsoe is phenomenal!!!
nice.. :D
:rocker:
Nice, definitely getting this for my Allendale system :)
Thanks Andre
can you see the c2 revision anywhere printed on the board? or would it be below heatsync?
damnit.. was looking at getting one of these boards next week.. now i dont know what to do :(
Eny beter performanse with memory bandwidth than C1?
André can you explain me the poor pi time ?
14.65 is really slow for 3.6ghz regardless of the memory timings, i've got 14.1 at 9X400 4/4/4/4 (DDR1000), 14.3 at 9X400 6/6/6/6 (DDR1000).
I've done same 14.65 with : 9X387 (DDR966) 6/6/6/18 and without os optimisation.
Is this the results of the FSB war between Asus and Gigabyte ?
Quartz modded ?
Sorry for this thread crapping but it's impossible for me to reproduce your time with the worst timings possible and 9X400, i just need an allendale to match :D
I would still like to see max dual channel, and the poor performance at these high fsb's is kida killin the point of running them.
Don't get me wrong 600fsb is nice but if you are forced to run 1 dimm and timings as slack as a bulls @$$ whats the friggin point??

Even with one stick and the worst timings possible , i can't do 14.65 @ 9x400 (DDR 1000).
Asus and gigabyte are not fair for us, those 600Mhz FSB seems not real.
André can you compare max cpu clock on this mobo and another retail , i think it should do 150Mhz better because of unreal frequency caused by changing the quartz.
Edit : BTW andré, why don't you create a new thread or updated this one when you reached 610 Mhz ?

I am rolling back to 975x and an E6600 myself. I don't feel like doing a clockgen up to my OC everytime I boot to avoid the 1333 strap post 400FSB.
I tested as others have, and my rig is definitely faster by setting 399 x 8 with the required voltages for 3.72 in the BIOS then doing a clockgen up to that speed in windows.
Look your spi time.Quote:

yup, cherry pick, and the asus'rd version,if 602 is "easy",push more fsb to 650 is not that hard, right??or asus 'rd can push that, and andre post the results, like last time:stick:Quote:

I will see many people can do FSB 600 when P5B Deluxe 1.04G is coming on the market.
Hey Andre, this is pretty nice. Good work and thanks for the preview. :toast:
Can you tell me, will chips that hit an FSB wall be helped at all with the C2 chip? Or did you have to try a few different chips before you hit 600fsb? My e6300 runs 510x7 stable at 1.45 but it wont boot or clockgen to 520, no matter what.
Wish people would stop bashing on this, all we ever talk aobut here is how high a boards fsb can go, then andre makes 600 and we all tell him it doesnt matter.
P.S. - A bit off topic but can anyone tell me if hte vcore/vdroop mods help getting your cpu fsb up? Thanks.

Would there be hopes of higher FSB in that situation, or do i simply need a new CPU?

ASUS BIOS team change memory timming after 0502 BIOS, so everyone can do FSB 500+.

André it's totally ridiculous, and you don't want to understand.
Where is the interrest of 600FSB if it's equal to 300FSB.
Even a E6300 don't need 600FSB to hit his limit, the only interrest is for cpu-z.
What's wrong with you guys? Why is it so hard to understand? There is no doubt in my mind, that for 600MHz FSB to be possible to achieve, ASUS engineers had probably to resort to loosening chipset timmings even more, therefore performnce will suffer...
Whether 600Mhz is really useful or needed more than fro ASUS to have bragging rights is another story... But it doesn't mean, 600MHz is fake! We've seen 584MHz on C1 revision, so why 600MHz cannot be done on C2? Stop using word "fake" as it seems you don't understand its meaning.
We will know if it was (factory) cheated when p5b C2 will be out.
I never accused anybody, just those 600 aren't fair.
I assume i am working on 600FSB with C1 rev, and now it has lost lot of interrest with those 600++ done with RD M/B. :(
I'm under the impression it's just an RD war between asus and giga and i was the first warrior fighting with both brand :D
The war is only good when there is a winner, but here the customer can't win ....
... just forget for a moment about thinking of FSB MHz in WR category, will ya :)
I don't think AndreYang started this thread to claim FSB WR :fact: It's simply to show that *perhaps* new C2 revision mobo can reach even higher speeds than C1. It's not automatically, as many seem to see it, "oh look at me, I have ES mobo and FSB WR!"
Bacchus is right. Calling something "fake" implies the person manipulated the results. And saying someone "cheated" is a very serious allegation. If using pre-production hardware is cheating, then I guess all the people with ES processors and RD600 engineering boards are cheats too.
If someone here is looking for best PI times @ certain speeds, looking @ 965 is the WRONG place to be! LOL!
J_max is wrong, 600fsb isnt fake, the latency is just horrible.
no comments :D
6X600 1:1 = 12X300 1:1
strange coincidence don't you know ?
Bacchus did 32M in under 13 mins. with the P5B Dlx @ 3618MHz. Can your board do that? I doubt it.Quote:

... just regarding an arguement about that 1M @ 600MHz FSB... This is something I posted a while ago, in another thread
Now, take a guess and tell me what 32M would be if there was 600x6 in there as well (another thing is, we wouldn't be able to compare it around same mem speed due to lack of "below FSB" ratio) ;) I can bet you $100 that it won't be any better than 14:10 or 14:15... Probably even worse than that.
