It has notices about C1E and the other thing obstructing your ability to raise the vCore. And it makes the in-BIOS flasher lock. :slap: lol

Can't report on anything else atm ... I'm having some major difficulties with my setup :mad:

Jebus, I wish ASUS would spend a few dollars proofing their English copy with someone that actually speaks the language. It appears that they use Google Translate to generate the English copy.

"Enable EIST. You may not adjust Vcore." :confused:

Interpreted literally, the lay-user will understand that as two separate statements. One advising that EIST should be enabled. And the other stating that Vcore may not be adjusted.

"You may not adjust Vcore while EIST is enabled."

ASUS: you can have that one for free. :slapass:

this is good to hear , tomorw my first of many conroe's comes in a E6600 and next week a E6700 , and within 3 weeks X6800 :)

Im running disabled and 3-3-2-4 1:1 400FSB with my 0701 bios..

Mine still wont boot over 380.Please tell me what settings i need.I have system in sig except its a E6600 B2 in it now.I have tried up to 1.6V in bios and still no go :(.Sam with this new bios as the ones b4.Havent tried 0801 though maybe its better or maybe my C2D just plain suck.Its a week 24 btw if thts good or bad....:wth:

No bios yet has let me boot over 370fsb without enabled spd timings (5-6-6-18) :(

It's quite a common issue, maybe ram, maybe mobo.. don't really know..

No, I use 0701, the bios with bugged 1.7v and the second highest V on vcore is bugged as well :(

I also changed my ram from slot 1,3 to 2,4. Try that see if it works :p:

This bios didn't do anything for me. Why oh why can they not get AiBooster to read correctly, it hasn't been right since the 0801 bios!!! Yes, I'm using the newest version if AiBooster.

Dang, I wish this would've been the BIOS that would've magically trasformed my week 23 B2 E6600. :(

I've come to grips with the fact that no different mobo/BIOS can help this chip out any more than another. I just need to pony up and buy about 10 E6600's so I can cherry pick one or two of 'em.

Who tells me that the SPD of that RAM is not set to 4-4-4-12?

You should know that there is Proggie called Thaiphoon Burner 3 that can flash SPDs to the Timings u need, so that can ALWAYS set BY SPD. I will never ever test a nonOfficial BIOS - my DFI is RMAing...but still i wish u luck boys.

Build date of this bios is 8/28/06, so it's super fresh. I flashed it but haven't tried any different settings than what I previously had. Just wanted to see mainly if it would improve my annoying POST hang issue. So far so good, but the hang is very sporadic.

I see this bios is on the asus ftp now.

I have been using it for a few days without any issues.
With this bios I can get at boot with 4:5 at 400fsb other bioses I have tried would not boot when I tried that.

I still cant get windows to be stable with 4:5 at 400fsb thou.

Friggin' ASUS. I want this new BIOS.

I never saw it on the asus web site only on their ftp server but then again I never looked for it on the asus web site.
I guess it means its at least an offical public asus beta bios.

Ok I looked on asus web site->support and it does show up under the bios listing for this board.

Dosent say anything about it being beta so I guess its offical now.

Use memset to change tRD from 6 to 7, also change tRFC from 35 to 39 and you should be ORTHOS large FFT torture stable :cord:

Works for me using 801 bios with ram running 4:5 @ 500MHz :fact:

Yeah i have this too. It's a right PITA, eh.

What RAM do you own? So you're saying this BIOS doesn't help, right? What a jip. How can they upgrade their cheaper P5B with fancy new stuff, and not this. It's a goddamn crime.

ram in sig, not extreme adata stuff, the value stuff.

I agree 100%, they price gauged us then don't even provide us with a satisfactory bios

I`m thinking to sell my P5W and go for a P5B...just take a look...P5W was first C2D supported MOBO from ASUS and they have put out a lot of BIOS...but P5B came out later and they have solved a lot of problems and even added a few things that the "high-end" P5W don`t have!...Multi in BIOS, ram dividers fixed...what can I say....doooooooooooh........grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

p.s. In 1305 just one think looks it is fixed...random reboots...I have many of them with 1301 BIOS...about 3 a day...with 1305 not a single reboot in 2 days! So keep going ASUS in about 2 or 3 years we maybe will have multis in BIOS with this speed!

I'm actually getting those in 1201 as well. Guess i'll give 1305 a try just to solve that. That said, i'm not too happy flashing my BIOS on a system that likes to reboot randomly.

I've always used the bios EZ flash utility without any problems at all. You could also use a bootable USB stick with afudos.

usb stick is fine aslong as it's made properly into an ms-dos startup disc.

Load setup defaults in bios, boot to usb stick (with afudos.exe and bios.rom on the memory), type Afudos /ibios.rom /pbnc /n, shutdown, clear cmos, startup, load setup defaults then overclock like usual.

^^ This is how bios should always be flashed..

I wasn't aware that flashing via the EZ flash utility was not a "full" flash. I'll be sure to flash via afudos next time.

Out of curiosity, what do you mean by the bootblock? Are there certain remnants of my bios that are still from the original 0801 bios that came with the chip since I've always flashed with EZ flash?

The bootblock is a part of the bios which will allow booting of the bios sometimes when the cmos is corrupt. Ez flash doesn't flash bootblock so if you want to flash it you must use afudos with /pbnc /n tags.

ez flash still works, it's just a little less safe than afudos IMO and can't flash bootblock. (I think it's best to always flash bootblock but it's your own choice..)
