You are certainly doing very well - nearly 250K scored yesterday
You need to be careful regarding using the Free-DC WCG stats as a benchmark, there are TWO sets of WCG stats available that he monitors:
One for overall WCG points:http://stats.free-dc.org/new/allteams.php?proj=wcg where BOK only monitors those teams that request it as there are too many for him to monitor in terms of WCG points (and the WCG feed is a pain for him) - at present there are only 36 teams are being monitored, where XS are in 31st place.
Second set is in terms of WCG Boinc Points: http://stats.free-dc.org/new/allteams.php?proj=bwcg - where you are curently 196, up 30 places since yesterday
In terms of overall WCG position, XS is in 1,438 place at the moment, but at the current rate XS will be blasting past most teams in no time on the way to the top
Ady :)
Thanks for this information, it is interesting.Quote:

Don't worry - XS was the 13th highest scoring team overall yesterday with plenty more to come, so it won't take too long to get up there ;)
The only team that is probably out of reach is Easy News (4,000 members), who score an awesome 3 million points a day
Is that all? just 3 million...Damn, we'll only need 1/2 the team then!:stick:Quote:

If the team did 250K yesterday and we are not even up to speed yet I don't think 3 mil is out of the question...and neither is 4 mill..:DQuote:

I have a rig over there with them ;) - also signed one over with you yesterday (Adywebb@XS) - just waiting for the current cache to work through before getting going :)Quote:

Bam, Kick it up a notch.

Frankly,I don't understand why some still complain about the flaky point system :D
whatever project , no matter how sucky the point system is , we'll end up 1st (or real close) anyway and fast
man , i love this team :toast:
My Opty 144 rig smoked that was running wcg. Working on a new/used cheap 939 proc. Any body got a cheap one?
On a side the packets on o25 / r5-72 are huge right now. I have over 1000 on the 3 mac's crunching along and it is not going it seems. Doing 40 a day max. :( Oh well when it posts I will look like I did a move to a server room :)
Exactly..you said it perfect pal!Quote:

And that is why I went to wcg on my main rig. I lost my dad @ 60 to cancer last Dec 3rd and this is the one that looked to be on that.Quote:

Help me to understand, Ady. You mentioned there are two sets of stats BOK monitors, but then you mention a third. What is the difference between the larger set of stats BOK monitors and the third? You say 190, in one ( BOK's larger set ), but then you mention the third one, where we are 1438. ?? What ( and where ) is that third set?Quote:

I lost my Dad to Cancer in '01. Been crunching ever since. At first 2 machines, then three, then a few more.
Somewhere along the line a little bit of competitiveness crept in, too.
We all have something that drives us. Whether a family member, just some fun, a pursuit of stats ot just wanting to keep the house warm in the winter or a masocist in the summer time..
It doesn't matter..All that matters is what we do while others just talk about it.
Sorry if my post was a bit confusing Scott.Quote:

In reality, as you realise, there are alot more than 36 teams overall at WCG, so you need to go direct to WCG and look at the stats there - this is where you are 1438th.
The second set is solely for Boinc points only, where all teams that use boinc at WCG are monitored and where you are 196th - this is because at this time the majority of teams at WCG are still using the old Grid Agent rather than Boinc.
To be honest you can dismiss the first set of figures monitored by Bok and just go to WCG for the overall WCG stats, and Bok for the Boinc Stats.
I hope this makes sense, cos it confuses the hell out of me :D
1438th huh?
Well then it might take more than a couple weeks to make the top 10..
Sort of gives you that warm fuzzy feeling that there's a real challenge ahead..
I wonder if we could talk them into setting up a download server just for us?
So the results are more like apples to apples than apples to apple cores..:D
Well, but not much more. More and more here are switching to WCG. We will kick their butt, that sure :toast:Quote:

Theres a lot of minnows over there, and the going only really gets tougher when you start getting towards the Top 100.
@ brot - its not you, its down ;)
Alright, that helps some.Quote:

So, what is the purpose of Bok's larger set of stats?
just tried to attach? Project down??
All fixed, attached..
Just got this from our team stats at WCG ( this was before the daily 24 hour update for teams )Quote:

That is a hell of a jump in one day, must have quite a tight cluster of teams. Notice we are into the top 1000 in results, too. I like to believe if ya just pump out the results the points will follow. That's always kind of been my creed when it comes to crunching.
and I'm just starting!..that ought to move us up at least 2 places..
over a month or so!:D
if everyone else quits..
and the servers just upload to me..
and..and..and..
Yep, surprisingly there are still some teams that don't use Boinc at all, and of course some teams from prior to Boinc being implemented over at WCG are now dormant - these teams obviously will NOT show up in the Boks' larger WCG Boinc stats.Quote:

Because WCG still uses two different clients is why it is necessary to have its own WCG points system so you can compare all the teams within the project.
Boinc users have to have their Boinc credits granted converted to WCG points. 1 Boinc credit = 7 WCG points.
I suspect that in the not too distant future WCG will go over to Boinc only.
Yeah that was confusing. A couple days ago it showed I had 41 or 42 thousand total, at WCG. Yet, at Boincstats it showed I had like 4,xxx.
Well if you didn't, we need your help! :DQuote:

Well its more like $840, 5x500gb :) A big raid array that will last me a long time.
Take you a week to defrag :D
Do you need that much now? If you don't its pretty pointless getting all this storage now! interfaces and HD's will be cheaper when you DO need them. But hey, go for it.!Quote:
