Retail Box Intel Core 2 Duo Family, E6300~X6800
-
you have too much toys :p:
-
Geezz.. nice shop u got there !
-
Um, can you send me one of those please? Preferably the E6800? :)
I can't believe some of the temps on those things!
Very nice toys.
-
All CPUs are on Air Tower 120.
-
funny that the E6600 is the looser here :D , costs like $$$ more than the E6300
-
Seeing how low the 6600 is - were those the max stable fsb's?
Then that e6300 rocks, while that e6600 is quite weak an overclocker.
-
-
Why did you use 2 differnet boards, and not one board for all. Were power requirements insufficient for P5b?
-
Man.. e6600s are the weak links :(
-
WoW.
You have so many C2D's... Me want's some too )-:

Im seruously starting to think the E6600 is the CRAP Bin of the Core 2 DUo! the clocks suck on E6600 Retail, i think they are failed X6800 and E6700 chips, even the E6300 clocks are better, maybe cus the cache didnt make the 4mb but the cores are better on these cheaper chips.
my E6600 takes 1.49V to get to 3.4ghz that E6300 does 3.5ghz at 1.4v!
core 1 on my chip is bummed craps out after 5 mins over 3.4ghz
im gettin a X6800 from USA with others to sell on, Look out UK customers ill have them in stock soon
-
could you please explain why you have 5? are you giving them all a shot and keeping the best clocker? just wanted to have fun with them? im just curious..

I still think the 6600/6700s need a better board, or better future BIOSes on current boards.
-
Come on, it's not fair to give them different vcore values man :)

I need all kinds of cpus to test some ES mobo. So I must buy all.
-
Very thorough testing, thanks Andre. I bet you had a huge smile across your face taking pictures of those CPU's :D
-
Very nice Andre. Can You test this cpu's with hmm better cooling ? Only a/c ?
-
It is proved that E6600 contains many rounding problems when tried to prove stability even with multipliers down like 7 X 490 or 8 X 450 with a P5B Deluxe.
I have done many things to make it stable for at least 7 hours, I could go higher than this but it would make fail in some of the tests.
Intel have done an errata faq for experienced users to see if they could handle some of the problems. Rounding problems it is one of the big problems with E6600. I have done many tests with 6300, 6400 and so far no problems what so ever. Tests going up :) I might post it soon.
-
I have tested E6600 for 975x 965, but it's still bad. I think this batch E6600 is not better, not mobo or Ram problems.
-
E6600's just seem generally Crap.
paper weight any one?

Mine is E6600 batch = L24A604 = 9 X 377 = 3.391 (7 hours primed stable with default chipset, NB Vcore 1,25, Sata 1.50 Vcore 1.5875 and memory 2.30 timmings 3.2.2.4 (1:1).
Probably is the batch, errata or factory error. Rounding problems are really annoying me :(
Edit: mine E6300 can easily go up to 3.5 without any kind of errors (12 hours primed).

Is that the same as Tuniq Tower 120?

Andre I'd like to adopt your E6700 for a new home here! It must be fun doing what you do. :)
-
wow andre thanks for the testing.
-
Ehm here at work (pc webshop) we have like eh 20? C2D retail boxes in stock, so many even you keep tripping over them :-)
I've built 6 or so highend C2D gaming systems (mainly asus P5B & P5W mobo's, 7900GT & x1900xt, 2gb ram etc) already, omg I'm such a lucky mofo :P
edit: we don't sell the EE's though
-
was this done to help get rid of that dumb idea that ES's are better then retail processors, and that retail processors are just fine too?
-
retail are nice
i'm testing a 6400 @ 3.6ghz and more...amazing for the price

I was thinking about buying the E6600 OEM at Fry's, but now I'm reconsidering it after reading this topic. Should I still get the E6600 or get the E6400?

I think E6400 450*8 is easier than E6600 400*9.

Andre thanks for sharing
