cooooooool ;)
They're all 1.02G to date. It's your BIOS that appears new. Never heard of 1001.
Where's that text exactly in this pic http://i4memory.com/reviewimages/mot...P5WDH_116.html
Just got my P5W DH yesterday direct from Asus and it has 1.85v MCH
Guatam, my Asus contact definitely said newer P5W DH only have 1.85v MCH it's not a bios thing heh

bunk I just saw eva2000 reply to gautam.
ah i see it now
so short of booting it how do you tell, just marekd 1001 on the bios chip = new rev.?
Maybe by newer serial numbers ? my serial no http://i4memory.com/reviewimages/mot...P5WDH_009.html
I tried the 1001 BIOS. It has a date of four days before the 1101. I removed my battery, turn off the PSU, and cleared my CMOS. On my unmodded board it does not provide anything above 1.65 MCH. So if folks are getting boards with 1.85 MCH out of the box it is something new.
If you want to try the 1001 BIOS, it is located here:
http://wiki.p5wdh.de/doku.php?id=downloads:bios
Yours is certainly later than mine. I have a 123XXX and yours is 141XXX.Quote:

I just got one, it's 155xxx and part no is the same as the pics of the 140xxx box shots. I'll get around to booting it up shortly, hope it's 1.85 Vmch as well.
crap i have 104XXX...might have to pay a visit to fry'sQuote:

Crap, mine's 155xxx and doesn't have any CF-2 stuff on it either. I'll have to see what bios version is on itQuote:

The first part of my serial number is 66M0AG. The shot EVA linked is 67M0AG. Our part numbers differences are; 90 MBB2X0 G0UAY, and I have 90 MBB2X1 G0AAY.
I think all starts 66M0AGQuote:

MCH = 1.65
ICH = AUTO

woah 66M0AG? I actually have 67M0AG maybe that's the difference?Quote:

Step6 wont go as high, but never mind I'll just not look at the vcore in order too not hate myself for buying a step6 ;)
My P5WDH is 67MOAG, 420MHz SP2004 ORTHOS now +4h stable @ 1.65Vmch, should put up to 450MHz :)
67Mxxxx so does it have 1.85v MCH option ?
Not mine, 0701 was original BIOS and now I'm with 1101, 1.65Vmch is MAX with no mods
Is it only BIOS 1001 with 1.85Vmch?
My board is 67M0AG and shipped with 801 BIOS installed,
but 1.65V is the maximum on mine too.
The sticker on the box should tell the secret. Can you post both from an old and from a new?
new with 1.85v MCH
http://i4memory.com/reviewimages/mot.../P5WDH_009.jpg
My board is an 67M0AG (4 weeks old) and has the same inscription under the NB as the zbogorgon ones...except for the last 4 digits...his is an 0630 mine is an 0625 and I cannot go further than 1.65V with VMCH...so I think it is not a new revision...

Well, NCIX just got a new stock, and I'm ordering tonight/tommorow, so I can tell you guys in a couple days.
Here is my sticker...

I'm pissed and I want a new MB.
nah not rma, just sent from Asus for me to test out and stuff since i do alot of indepth memory testing for i4memory.com etc i.e. my previous investigations http://i4memory.com/showthread.php?t=2629 heheQuote:

I have the same Part No as youQuote:

Bought mine from Newegg when they first came out. I've tried EVERY bios so far & 1.65MCH is the highest I've seen.
Serial No: 66M0AG142360
Part No:90-MBB2X1-G0AAY
Could it be that you just got a volt-modded board from ASUS for testing and that all retail boards will only go to 1.65V?Quote:

Guess you need to wait a few weeks for new stocker of P5W DH to show up and see if the new stock has 1.85v mch
heres mine come with stock 1001 bios.. i can set chipset voltage up to 1.85v
http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a2...et/asusp5w.jpg
interesting..that must be part of the new batch. Your's also a 68M0AG; maybe they did started making them.
yes interesting it's 68Mxxx and part number is GOUAY
Dang, I got mine a little over a week ago and it's GOAAY - no 1.85VMCH for me. :(
Doesn't that only really help for higher FSB speeds though(400+)?
" High fsb`s like 500 mhz can be done by raising the chipset MCH voltage.Quote:

problem solved with the e6600. MCH needs almost 2 V for 500 mhz .
266 mhz is like 1,5 Volt ? so if you wanna reach 400 mhz, you do the math :p:
I can't imagine the outcry from the early adopters of this board and Conroe if Asus comes out with a new rev soon with higher vMCH... Yikes.
why outcry.. Asus didn't realise the need for higher MCH volts... then when end users asked for more MCH.. Asus delivered and revised the board to meet users needs :)
KM elektronics in Germany got one ^^
http://www.kmelektronik.de/
they got the new 1.02G with an 68 SN. But it only works with BIOS 1001 oder 1301
http://www.forumdeluxx.de/forum/show...56507&page=110
if better cooling is required for 1.85v MCH to work, shouldnt Asus revise the heatpipe design or add a mandatory fan?
Think if I order, I'll get a new revision? They just got a new shipment 2 days ago...
LOL! so this is a handpicked Board manufactured to get a very good Review - just to raise sellings. And thats why noone else got 1.85V...Quote:

I'll change my opinion if some more Boards with WORKING vMCH 1,85V appears out there.
PLZ post a picture of the BIOS-Chip - real BIOS revision is shown there!

I'm sure Asus didn't realize the need but what about all the early adopter folks that purchased their product and helped them to understand how to improve it... I guess they have no choice but to buy another board?Quote:

you could say the same thing about overvolting CPUs and that the intel stock fan isnt sufficient. fact is they design them to run stock speeds/volts. not that many people overclcok and technically intel 'loses' money when they do (unless they got an x6800)Quote:

Bah mine only has 1.65... You can tell it was just rebadged w/ a sticker :P.
Serial: 67M0AG109372
Part: 90-MBB2X1-G0AAY
The chip itself was 701 Bios, but actual bios inside was the 801.
I have a new RMA from Asus coming Monday, so I'll let you guys know my info too at that point :D.
Can't you just call them up and ask if the sticker says G0UAY? Dang I wish read this thread yesterday. I was in Fry's looking at this mobo. I kinda staggered away when I saw the $300 price tag. Still ... I know Eva is loving his non-voltmodded, newly revised P5WDH. He ran off 8x440 1:1 dual 32m stable with a 6600 and 2x512. I wonder if the FSB would top out lower with 2x1024?Quote:

and the bios chip has 1011 on it, cant test it yet cause my 6600 and ram in in the mail, should be here tomorrow. I'll take a photo of the bios then :)
edit: from the retailers that have goten back to me seems most have the new part no.
This is good news, but the question is, are all G0UAY part numbers the new revision with 1.85V bios option. Have you been able to check yours yet?Quote:

Can't believe there's a new revision already, all the early adopters just get screwed over - nice one Asus!
I've been inspired from this thread and got a new P5W DH yesterday.
68M0AG148095
90-MBB2X2-G0JAY
"68" means 2006 8(August), I think,
and G0*AY is maybe something shipping regional code...J=Japan.

My P5W DH 68M has BIOS1201.
http://222.151.145.94/c-board/file/P5WDH_BIOS1201.jpg
And Vmch=1.85V is available.
http://222.151.145.94/c-board/file/P..._BIOS_Vmch.jpg
This board is still REV. 1.02G, but resistors value accompanied with
Vmch controller(RT9214) are different.
In my experience, BIOS801 has already Vmch=1.85V selection internally,
and the BIOS behaves according to hardware difference, it seems.
Thank you, zbogorgon, for your information!!!:)
I have Rev. 102G or whatever.. But no 1.85VMCH =/Quote:

Eva did get the 1.85 option with a 67M0AG part number but he seems to be the exception, so you are right that 68M0AG is probably the most reliable indicator that you are buying a new revision P5WDH with 1.85 MCH option.Quote:

well.. @185vmch my p5wdh only can boot @ 425FSB dual prime stable..
clockgen was not much help too.. highest i can reach on windows using clockgen was 435FSB 1:1 only can do 1M :D
Not bad at all.. I cant get over 360 with mine. Im about to yank her and hard mod the MCH.
For those 1,85v guys:
- Could you see voltage with a DMM ?
Since it would be a PITA that they have added 1,85v but chips are worse clockers... ( i do 440 pi1m 1:1@1,72v VS 435 pi1m 1:1 @1,85v... )
Regards! :toast:
My "new" one turned out to be a NCIX fault, they flashed the bios and put it in a new box....I have one of the :banana::banana::banana:ty originals, 1.65v max, 0801 bios....
Think I should return it?
this has saved me some time thanks for all the info guys
Actually, I'm not aiming for WR, and the chipset is on air, so I don't think 1.85 is needed...
But its possible to coll 1,85 wicht air, my friend, but you have to put a fan on the NB....its quite a bit to hot without one ;)
well just came back from fry's and didnt see any 68M0AG. Anyone got one from etailers recently that has the new 1.85vmch options?
Dunno, I think 400 x 9 is good enough for me...(so 1.65 or so).Quote:

FSB 450@1.65vmch with 1:1 and manual timings?
if so then u are very lucky to get that board.
most people only can do around 400FSB with 1:1 and manual timings.
with 2:3 and ram set to spd i can go around 450FSB.
But the hassel of RMAing it....chances are I'd get another 1.65v board back...and as I said, I don't care about WRs, I mainly play games ;)Quote:
