The same here...no difference in OCing at all...still have a lot of problems because of ram divisor, so I have to keep back my Gskills :stick: :slapass:

Primoz
p.s. Shark-357 have a good time in Tunis :toast:
Not to hijack, but I've solved all my instability (so far) on P5W/6600 by using only 1:1.
Which dividers have you noticed problems with?

And is in there MODDED BIOS higher NB voltage? And working?Quote:

Anyway i'll give it a try shortly, but right now i've got a friend around for heavy LAN gaming, can't afford for my computer to die, which seems likely with this.
has anyone test the modded bios?
i did, vmch is still at 1.65v max
wish they would release one with some decent fixes, like alowing my ram to work at pc8000

why would doing all that to the cmos have any affect on the settings in the bios?
if you flash a new bios using the windows program surely it will have the same affect than flashing from the dos one?
I was wondering that as well. I flashed 0701 in windows and it seems to work fine.Quote:

Is this a BETA BIOS? Is it up on ASUS site yet?
That bios, even the one that is modded(0801), have the same voltages(maximum) 1,65-1,50-1,20-1,70 Volts, last is Vcore.
Mine Mb boot at fsb 420 with 1,60 Vcore, but no more than 433,7 Mhz Fsb...
I tried all bioses greater than 0602 an still the same...
Even if I low down the multiplier at 8X or 7X...
Has anyone succed to use that modded bios for more than 1,65 MCH voltage?
http://p5wdh.de/downloads/asus/bios/p5wdh1101.zip
Has somebody checked up it already?
Instaled 1101 just, and much faster post.
BECAUSE it does and this is how I got vcore options on my p5wdh, and you should reflash the bootblock. You should ALWAYS clear cmos after flashing a new bios. I know that often you don't have to but you SHOULD always clear it.Quote:

Hey - everybody's telling me I've should have gotten this board to begin with if I'm using an E6600. I would prefer it not to boot slowly as I've dropped thousadns into this rig. Why have 2 RAID0 Raptors if the mobo prevents things from booting decenty quick. That said, I already ordered the board, so if it does, I'm screwed anyway.Quote:

Also im in windows kinda stable on 4:5 divider playing Fear for half hour then reset... not sure if that was ram or not tho. i need a windows bases memtest.
im gona try the other divider
Works fine with a 6700ES.Quote:

Guys
hardware mods are needed for the 0801 bios, unless you have the hardware on board the bios still sets 1.65V max.
I have a new board here, i have NO idea what asus have done but will have a look.
Please don't PM me, I will have to ask if I can post the board changes.
T
if there is a new Revision i am blowing this peice of :banana::banana::banana: up and sending it back to asus in a doggy back for a new rev.
peice of crap product this is, sold at premium price. just about nothing works properly
Hey ppl, anyone wanna check if 2 highest Vcore values's still bugged?
1101 fixes all the issues bar C1E as this was designed to work how it does. If you want to raise vcore just disable C1E and all is fine.
Pandamonia...motherboard manufacturers can revise boards how and when they like, you actually talking about defrauding here, with Asus watching this forum i doubt they would rma you now.
Nah, 1,7 no2 was bugged... - Pedro Rocha told me swiftly after I asked how the heck E6600 had sweetspot at 1.67-1.68v while X6800 at 1.85-1.9v... - I used DICE - so heat werent an issue...Quote:

Some bugs we found in the P5W DH bios.
bugs in Asus P5W DH BIOS 0801 (remaining):
1) C1E set to Enabled locks Vcore selection to auto
2) 1.6875v vcore option sets 1.350v
3) 1.7000v vcore option sets 1.575v
Apart from C1E which is how it is supposed to be the other 2 issues according to my return mail are fixed.
Awesome :)Quote:

THanks for your time Tony :toast:
Mykou you can see it on board. It's 1.02g for now.I wonder if there is a new one which comes with newer bios.
Tony is 1.03g "the new board" you're talking about?
I get my new one from NewEgg on Monday - I'll check to see what rev. it is.
So nothing about fixing the dodgy ram dividers and the hyperpath 3 and spd timings crap?
With which bios revision do the new boards come ???
Yeah.. the requirement of SPD over 370~ish FSB for (some) people is
id like to see asus stop me doing anything, they wouldnt know where my rma was coming from who sold it me and who was sending it back.
its not fraud at all. Asus launched a crap board miles away from being ready and also advertising Core 2 duo compatability which was a lie as it wasnt!
from any legal stance Asus are simply not in any possition to be telling any one anything.
tell this to the thousands of people with a less than working motherboard.
selling substandard boards at premium prices to fill a gap in the market when conroe was released.
the consumer has a right to send this junk back. if a new rev is released that fixes such faults every person with an old one should be able to get the new rev as the old one doesnt do what we all paid for it to do.

there, i made it easier to see
Guys
All i see is a ton of overclocking issues, I don't see many having issues with a none overclocked board and in reality thats all any manufacturer is bothered about.
Now i know they all put overclocking or tweaking on the box...this is just marketing...small print always says no guarantee of any overclcoking, you pays your money you takes your chance!!!
If a board does not clock like you want it to and you decide to damage it and RMA it because of this.....thats plain fraud. XS has rules that cover this and posting your intention to do so is breaking those rules.
Asus can revise a board anytime they like...look at DFI and the Ultra D, something like 10 revs of the same board over its life...they all do it.
Regards the rev of my board here i think its just shipping rev with a small mod applied, I have a feeling the board will remain 1.65 thru bios unless you apply a hard mod which would invalidate any warranty...;)
Best thing to do is just not buy asus products in the furture if your not happy with their products/support.
So is it fair to say then that if we flash our P5W-DH with this modded BIOS (I assume thats the one we're talking about, and not 1101?), and vMCH won't go any higher than 1.65v in the BIOS - then we don't have an ASUS-modded rev 1.03g (?) board?Quote:

I'm not gonna spend time preparing the board to run well under phase if there is gonna be a new revision and/or an ECN for existing 1.02g boards announced by Asus any time soon.
A few guys have tried the bios, said it makes no difference, the voltage stays at 1.65 tops.Quote:

Still no newer BIOS on the FTP since 0801 = so its another Beta - as expected from ASUS
ever thought about changing to the second PCI-E16x-Slot?:rolleyes:Quote:

0801 has the option already, the bios looks for something then releases the option so you can set it.
Can you get multiplier selection working for Step 5 ES chips in the BIOS please Tony with one of your super Bigtoe modded BIOS? I'm still using one of your BIOS on my IC7-MAX3 (which I'm typing from at the moment). :p:Quote:
