damn...how many bios asus plan to release ?
I don't count them since P5W DH is out and retail C2D last to show at resellers ....
yeah i know. But i love it! Always loved using beta drivers for my nvidia card and as long as they're stable and quick and this bios feels faster and more responsive as a whole and in windows. Very nice indeed
i skipped 801 and 901 so i mind as well check this one out
:D thanks, downloading nowQuote:

One per day. They guess at the fixes then send them out for us to validate.Quote:

How I test the way a bios is because I'm a hardcore multiplayer gamer (usually always on top in Fear + bf2 etc). so I test each game to see if gameplay is more responsive and i can just "feel" how it's performing. Don't bench as what may be higher frames doesn't always equate to better responsiveness in game etc.
Also take out my music production apps and Traktor and see how it feels as I dj live and need my system stable AND quick! :p
i havent yet seen any performance increases, but i noticed:
- overclocking profiles (new to me, but i understand they go in and out)
- fan control seems fixed (silent was never really ever silent, fan just jumped all over the place, now it is!)
People aleady talk about overclocking profiles with bios 801 or beta 901 and I never had issues with fan control ( have bios beta 0065 ) ..
So which issues does that newbios solve ?
I'm really pissed off .. no read me file to shortlist any changes etc ..
:slapass: :slapass: Asus
I have a feeling we are the testers for their bios crew... wow they sure are saving a bunch lolQuote:

ok..
I now can add with each new one such readme file
" Support new CPUs. Please refer to our website at: http://support.asus.com.tw/cpusupport/cpusupport.aspx "
Intel should do the same
"Support new asus bioss. Please refer to our website at: http://support.intel.com./biossupport/biossupport.aspx "
Thanx so much asus for your deluxe products which give their owners lot of extras ( bios ) ... :D :p: :p: :p:

maybe the problems with 1.6875v and 1.700v vcore BIOS selections have been fixed...i'll give this BIOS a shot too later this evening.
Hmm, 903 is probably not based on 801, but 901. It seems there are two different bios people working on these. the beta ones seem more home made. Anyone know their source?Quote:

What FSB's are you guys running?
DOn't know about anything else, but the boot-up/start-up definately became faster with 0903 BIOS. Enough for me to actually notice it.
903 is great for me! With previous BIOSes my max OC of D930 was 4.1Ghz and now i can run benchmarks at 4.3Ghz ;)
Is this a beta BIOS or has Asus properly tested it? They are still showing 0801 as being the latest on their website.
The testing department is the consumer at ASUS :slapass:Quote:

Thats about the third time you've said that with the silly little smiley. I think we get it. As always this is beta so if you're not comfortable using something like this then don't use it ok?!Quote:

Noticed a faster boot here too. I will be able to give it a more meaningful review if I ever get my E67.
do you guys mean that it gets out of the monochrome screens faster, or that the windows blue line screen gets over with faster?
i dont restart much
when i do, im not looking
I meant it takes a few seconds less to get to the XP loading screen, that's all that has changed.
is this supposed to be the latest bios currently out for testing, and then the most stable atm?
I mean, if i would ask: "What's the newest, even beta, bios i can use for P5W DH Deluxe and Conroe E6600?" - would you answer with no doubt: "0903!" ?
Sorry but i have a little headache with all these bios release, i still dunno what release i have now, i think the 0701, i flashed my bios already 4 times since i bought the motherboard.
Now (today) i got my E6600, and i'm going to put it in my PC tomorrow morning, and exactly after installing it i want to flash P5W DH Bios with the latest, most stable, best one.
:D
why does all these bios release on the german site fisrt instead of the regular or all? gonna test it out i guess
Seems to be all about 'Who you know'Quote:

0903 : I noticed a definite change in boot up speed... both the black Asus post, getting to the XP Logon, and Post Logon to get to XP. Don't know why but things have been running smoother since 0903. I just built my rig so i've been doing a lot of setup & installation, with a lot of rebooting & settings. Probably that's why i'm noticing the difference.
Mickey
Close. It blue screens faster.Quote:

Got my E6600 and put it on my P5W DH Deluxe, with Artic Freezer 7 pro + Artic Silver, got the other hardware still the same (2gb crucial ballistics ddr2-800 and gf7950gx2).
The bios is the 0701 (probably) and i have resetted it, so there are no previous settings i was using with the D805.
Now the pc boots up, i can see it running, fans etc, but i have nothing on my screen, i don't even have any error message and i don't hear any bip or sound from the mobo. I just don't see anything on the screen, and i don't even think it's running well since i don't even see the leds on the mouse and on the keyboard, that usually turn on after the start-up checks and stuff.
Any help please?
Your problem could be something entirely different, but i've experienced the exact same thing that you're stating, because of the way the motherboard was placed in my case, where it was touching the surface area of the case, thus shorting the board. It was an electrical issue.
Just like you said, the board would power up, fans rotating and everything, but it wouldn't boot up and you won't see anything on the screen.
I just had to adjust the way my motherboard was screwed in my case, specifically, made sure there was a padding rim covering the holes in the case so the motherboard wouldn't touch the case at all.
The fact that you mentioned there is no "beep" sound makes me think it is what i'm saying it is. You should definately hear a single beep if there is no electrical issue. BIOS and everything else comes into picture AFTER the first single beep.
But like i said, your issue could be completely different.

Is this beta bios supposed to work fine with B2 revision (official conroe release)?
I've read on the site that the official conroe B2 revision may only work with 0801 and above..... i probably have 0701...
my understanding there is a problem with the GF7950 and this board and others...do you have another video card to try out?
i've used this same system for 2 months so far with the Pentium D 805, and i've seen people testing here on XS p5wdh, 7950GX2 and conroes.
Unfortunately, i don't have any videocard at the moment to test it, but i'm sure it's not a videocard problem.
get my P5W DH tomorrow
hope asus make this bios so wifi can be disbale.
That happened to me I just reset cmos and it worked.
Just do the jumper reset as you might have to take out the vid card to do it the battery way.
The WiFi card is removeable. I removed mine.Quote:

Just installed a pentium d, flashed bios to 0903 version, and reinstalled the conroe and it worked..... it's a final step B2 E6600 2,4 ghz Tray Edition, i booted it up at 3,6 ghz now @ 400x9 and it's working great, 13s at superpi mod 1.5xs 1m....... great stuff for a tray edition, someone told me that the tray's are not that overclock capable, and someone told me also that final retail version of teh conroe are not as good in overclock as the ES editions.
I have this E6600 @ 3600 Mhz with an Artic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro and Artic Silver 5, running @ 1.5v @ only 35°C (and it's warm in my room).
Well, couldn't be more satisfied than this i think :)
Hrmm.. so far I'm unimpressed with this new bios version. I'm getting, as someone else stated, the problem where my PC probe CPU temp jumps to like 250 degrees randomly.. and also my AI booster reports buggy information. I've got my 805D at 3.7 (185x20) and AI booster will report my CPU running at 3.4, 173x20 while CPUz and everything else still reports the correct number.
I didnt have this issue on the old bios i was using (which is what the mobo shipped with..) It is a beta though.. so I'm sure these will be fixed.
I also personally noticed an increase in time before the initial POST.
Has anyone noted an improve FSB stable overclock with this Bios or infact any of the New Bios's
Thanks
How is this board compatibility with OCZ PC2-6400 Plat (CL4-5-4-15 @ 2.1v) ?
I'm leaning towards it for Crossfire/SLI and all the features it packs (plus hopes for 450 FSB on E6400 with better BIOS)..
But I don't have any other DDR2 than the OCZ plat, and I'm not sure if it'll POST on first bootup?
Yes you will but until they do shut up already. I'll bet you 100 bucks it's not a beta!Quote:

Don't want to do the flash and have to put the Celery back in to get it back up and running again
i didnt see any faster bootups it still takes a long time to search devices on bootup

I was using version 0301 until today.
So, I rip it down, put in the 6700 and fire it up.
Da*n PC Probe2 beeping at me every couple minutes again. So I install speedfan and it says temps aren't moving. Other than that it idles at 31c. Stock volts and everything.
I was hoping this bios would fix that, but looks like ,not!
i use speedfan. i have never seen these random readings. ive used 501(?) and 701 and 901
I'm not sure, but this BIOS seem to have helped me with FSB a bit. Before, i was only able to Prime at 420mhz, then i hit a brick wall. Now, i am inching my way up past 422mhz, still priming. I wasn't able to do this previously.
This BIOS also seems to bench a bit faster - in SuperPI 1m i score 29.4s at stock, as opposed to 30.2s on previous BIOS's. May have been luck, but i reckon this one's a bit of a keeper.
Off topic but if you haven't got your E67 yet, why are you saying "E6700 @ 3.6Ghz" in your signature?Quote:
