Update: 535 FSB on Gigabyte DS3.

ES 6400, 6x multiplier. 1.4 volts. (overkill for the hell of it)

VMCH mod, at 1.75 volts.
Vdimm mod, at 2.7 volts.
VFSB at .3+
Bios F3.
C1E disabled. TM2 disabled.

booted into windows at 470 FSB. used Easytune5 to get up to 533.
can boot up into windows at 480 about half the time. 470 about 95% of the time. will not boot past 490 regaurdless of voltage or ram used.

there is a hardwall at 533.
getting to 533 is rather easy, but right after it, the board just goes nuts.
even 1-2 more FSB and the board just starts acting crazy... like the screen will go black, then turn back on, or it freezes... then goes again, or the mouse goes away, then comes back...

Hardware used.

OCZ 600 watt powerstream.
X1900XTX.
1 gig of Corsair 5400UL V1.2.
Sumbeam Silent Whisper heatsink.
Swiftech MCX159R for chipset.
120mm enermax fan over the ram.

not intended to be shown as stable, just the max I could do :D

I just got this CPU about 4 hours ago, still playing with it ;)

the real credit for these mods goes to shamino for pointing me in the right direction to find the mods, once I had a idea where to start, the mods were pretty easy to find.

a note about MCH mod, the board has some sort of OVP at 1.75 volts.
should your board stop booting, just lower the voltages to below 1.75 volts.

CPU tops out around 3.75 ghz, I only have a 1M shot of that, cause its really unstable and requires 1.45 volts to get there, and heats up pretty fast.

heres alittle early work.
I originally started by using the 7X multiplier, but the CPU tops out around 3.7 ghz, so theres no way I was gonna reach the 530 area, with the 7 multiplier, unless I get better cooling on the CPU. and for now, I am just testing air, though I have both watercooling and phase change ready to go at any time.

how stable at 533?

not even close to stable.
just a screenie...

I did a few tests at 515 with super pi, but not much else yet.
I do however, think I can get a few bandwidth shots at 500+.
500 is pretty stable.

heres a quick test of just the default voltage.
no idea if this is the max, but this appears to be 100% stable so far.
ran 32M on it a few times at this speed, and all default voltages, besides the obvious volt mod offsets.
C1E and TM2 disabled.

look back a few of my posts, I said I already hit 535 a few times, but screen goes nuts past 533... well, abit of patience, and here I guess... is the WR... for the moment, haha... I honestly dont think this board has anything left.

Validation file... again reporting the wrong Cas.

should show cas 5-6-6-20. went slower to just take the ram out of the equation for possible problems.

no, all air.
nothing special really, just a few big fans, a few volt mods (that few people seem to have taken advantage of yet) and alot of patience.

I dont know if the cascade would really do anything for this chip.
what I think I will do next, is take the chilly one unit I got, and bolt that to the chipset, and then watercool the CPU.
see if that helps go higher.
but I am not even sure I can find a way to mount that thing to the chipset, the holes on the board have very little distance between them.
I was thinking of taking the videocard mount, and drilling a few extra holes in it, to adapt it to the chipset... haha...

i wonder what's the stock vmch ? bcoz all is there in bios is +0.1 and so on. Now i just set it to +0.2vmch without having any idea whats my real vmch rite now :D

I got 6300 today and I can do 6 or 7x495 4-3-3 at +0.1vmch and a slight cpu voltage bump but I have FSB wall at 497 no matter what vmch/fsb (unmodded, so +.3 max for vmch) or ram timings (D9 corsair UL)

Reminds me of yonah FSB wall :slapass:

I have already chipset dice container prepared, might as well throw a few dice pellets to see if I can go higher :) Or chipset mod but strange thing there is no difference between +.1 and +.3

regaurdless of what multiplier I use, the CPU's limit is around 3.7 ghz.

getting 8 x 450 is easy, but getting 8 x 500 isn't gonna happen on air cooling with this board.
so it's not the board holding me back at the moment, but the CPU's air cooling limit.

just getting 3.2 ghz on air stable, at stock voltage is nice to me.
getting anything higher is just a bonus, but for a CPU thats default is 2.13 ghz, I can only be amazed to even get to 3.7 ghz on air, so I am not complaining even if its not stable enough for day to day use.

Sure nice, Intel has plenty of reserve left. Any chip could be XE cpu, no probz getting that speed at default volts :)

I am currently testing 7x472 = 3.3 for 24/7 stability and it seems fine so far

TINTIN, the MCH voltages work just fine for my board.
after adjusting my VR, I have about a .3 offset, for 1.45 volts to 1.75 volts max. to adjust the voltages I just use bios + the offset.

set 1.45 volts, + the .3 offset and get 1.75 volts max.

this board has a OVP at 1.76 volts or real close, so I am definatly pushing my luck when maxing out the voltage.
pass the OVP limit, and the board will fail to post, no matter what.
you have to get below the OVP limit to make the board post again... so adjusting the VR to get lower then 1.75 volts is what it takes to get it to post again when you go too far.

What Heatsink am I using?

Thermalrigh SI-128 + 120mm Adjustable Enermax fan (nothing like a tornado fan)
