Aye, I definetly searched yesterday for core 2 duo / conroe / e6xxx and there was no pre-order process or anything, so the fact that they have put them online tonight may imply they will show stock/availability tomorrow; otherwise wouldn't they have just waited until the August 7th date?

If availability is good then prices will stay in this range hopefully tommorrow. If they only got small shipments then look for prices to spike in the morning. I contacted BLT today about my E6600 pre-order and they still didn't have any updated info about a ship date other then August 4th. I'm probably going to cancel my order with them and just go with this E6300 i just ordered for $199 till i find an E6600 down the road in stock!

Oh man, I'll be watching them close the next few days. I hope the E6600 shows stock soon.

EDIT: yeah I got an E6300 too. I figure I can get a gigabyte 965 board and turn my secondary rig into an allendale one. So my primary rig will be E6600 and secondary E6300. It was 213 usd for next day air and the chip. Heck the E6300 even @ just oced to 2.6 will beat the snot out of what I have now.

I'm putting in a guess that if zipzoomfly is selling them for $340, newegg will be at or below that price considering they are about the same for every other product that they sell...

also why does everyone expect price jacking? It's not like nvidia jacked up their 7900gtx/gt when they came out...a little bit higher then they are being sold for now but still..it's a retail market

Because, all the companies know there are a lot of us camping their websites for these to go live, so why not ask for as much money as you can to see if people will bite at the price? Like I said, just look at mwave.com. Their 6300 is $295 compared to ZZF's $199.

ZZF is almost always cheaper then Newegg on most everything. If anyone price gouges tommorrow it will be Newegg. It's not the manufacturer that jacks the prices. It's the retailer when they see an opportunity to make a profit.

Just because zipzoomfly says something is in stock doesnt mean it really is. I found this out the hardway once. Check them out on resellerratings.com many complaints about it.

I know someone over at Anand's brought the number down lower at the end (the 6300s), said he bought a "few" of them.

I'm just hoping the one person over there that said the 6600s were in stock at one point was just reading something wrong. No one else has confirmed seeing the other ones up.

Shouldn't be too shabby. Although, I was aiming for 400FSB since I have 2GB of DDR2 800 waiting for it.

Hopefully that's money saved towards my Kentsfield upgrade.

Eitherway though, that's one small step for man, and one giant step from an old Northwood 3.0C.

Editted my post slightly. No, someone bought a few of the 6300s we were talking about. Just also mentioned that someone at Anand said they saw the 6600s available; I'm not sure if I trust that info though as no one else has mentioned seeing them.

The E6300s even @ just 2.6 aren't bad at all. See Anand's article ocing with the PoS stock HSF. It beats the the FX-62 at that speed without a hitch.

Yeah ZZF is now showing E6300s as backordered. I got mine though. I have a confirmed order. No ship. I'll check it again in the morning.

Is a 400FSB stable overclock with the 6300 reasonable without heavy modding, or is that just absolutely pure fantasy on my part.

It's MSRP for 1,000 tray OEM. I talked to David from BLT and quoted him the MSRP of $316 for the E6600 and he said that was less then what they paid to get them themselves.

yeah, they should have limited it to one. kinda like on fatwallet or slickdeals when a potential price mistake comes up and some idiot orders 50 of them...

Let 19 other people have the joy of receiving one of these instead of trying to pawn them off on ebay.

it's my hope that by the time they get the processors in the mail and list them on ebay, that the processors are more widely available, so the profit margins of these people who bought 20 e6600s briefly today aren't high.

It's the 1000 unit tray price. I WISH Intel would post that so people wouldn't assume all us retailers are price gouging. My *cost* is higher than $185.

Yea, my BEST price on the 6300 is $194, but it goes up to $199 depending on which disty I buy from.

Intel is more consistent with their manufacturing process then AMD is so there isn't likely to be as much difference in steppings.

Im going to buy a conroe for sure, as they say patients is a virtue, as of right now, the conroe setup is preety unstable, as no real good boards are out there, im waiting to see how the 590 SLI does, and for some more boards to come out, and probably around mid september i will upgrade, as of now my system is more than enough to run any game, im gonna wait to see what happens, plus i dont feel like paying extra to these resellers, just cuz they think they can jack up d price, they know people will buy either way........

That's what im going to do,, wait 2-3 months till some nice Sli capable board comes out (with nice FSB scaling), then for that time maybe the prices on the Conroes will be more stable... i hope so.
