Oh they added that DFI feature so you can save overclocking profiles though :)
vcore set to auto? ->cmos clear. u should be able to set vcore now. and enter a value! do not keep "auto" ;)
vcore = auto, then clear cmos, then back to bios and it's still auto and I can't change it because when I press Enter on cpu vcore auto is the only option there.

Where are you guys getting these bios from? I know from a site but where do they get them? Is this the first with O.C Profile Feature?
Could someone save a oc profile with at stock with 1.35v vcore and send it to me just for testing?
Bios was sent to us (www.Hardwareluxx.de and for sure many editors around as well) by ASUS DE yesterday morning
OC profiles are very, very nice 2 play with ;)
And yes - afaik it´s Asus first OC-Profile filled version
no issues so far ;)

But aside from that, all seems to work well, time to start FSB testing. If it can beat 420mhz it's a keeper :)

Ok so now I've booted up Windows, restarted it and went into bios and I still can't change vcore to anything else then auto. Tried to reboot several times and nothing :(
Do I've to reboot like 3 times without entering Bios before I can enter it?

complete cmos-clear (unplug power-cable, remove mainboard-battery and set the CMOS-clear jumper... then after clearing u should be able to set vcore in bios. enter and select one value (ex. 1,4V). from now on u should be able to set vcore in future...

What's BIOS version?
In my case, 0078&0701 were can set same.
Please try after clearing cmos once.
I've tried that Schlingel trust me.
OMEGA3, I used the latest 901, I will try with 0078 in 10 minutes.
Also with 0088 I get that vcore option. But I can't use it, if I use it I get black screen :(
Maybe I should flash with 0088 and load windows two times and then enter bios on the third reboot?

xgman: don't think it makes much of a difference. I did it your way first then OPB told me to have /n last.
If you aren't getting vcore options after a BIOS flash in addition to clearing the CMOS remove the battery when you do so and make sure your mobo is not getting power. Ie unplug or switch off the PSU or unplug the mobo from the PSU. I just switch off my PSU.

Got atx pulled out, battery out, cmos reset, nothing but microcode update enable and after flash is done I shut it down and do the things above.
I use a E6600 ES.
Tried 0078 now and doesn't work OMEGA3-san :(
Maybe I should try 0088 and reboot one time, two times and three times to see if I can use it then?

I know someone with the issue, I think, also with an E6600ES Step 5. I don't think he ever got it resolved. :-/ At one point I think he could adjust vcore but it would always be 0.9v actual. :confused: Maybe its an issue in a select batch? Good luck. :-/Quote:

I had the same problems you have but I fixed it by removing and re-inserting the battery, and as that didn't help you I took a guess.

Similar experience here, no vcore on 0502, flash to 0701, no vcore, reset CMOS (didn't even take the battery out), couple of reboots and the vcore and vdimm control became available. I find that the easiest way to flash BIOS is with the Asus BIOS flashing tool and a USB data key.Quote:

What happens if you set vcore in AI Booster?
Is it possible to activate the ECC in the bios ?
If i were you I would stick with the 901 bios from eher on in and leave eveything unplugged and unpowered like it was said above for a while. Somewhere in the process of clearing, restting rebooting etc. I think your options will return. Obviosly this should not be happening at all regardless, and Asus should look into this at this point.
can you flash the BIOS from within the BIOS on this board - I think there is an option?

After flashing to Bios 0901, everything within the BIOS options seem to be working fine. However, cpu speed and fsb are not reading correctly from within Ai Booster eventhough cpu speed is reported correctly under My Computer properties. All these readings were detected correcly by Ai Booster with Bios 0701. Is anyone else having this problem?
I use CPUZ, not AI booster, if someone is kind enough to answer my questions - then I will be able to flash (with confidence), try it out and report back.

Thanks for the confirmation of this problem Icer. I did notice that in the Bios under the profile manager it said something about NTFS not being supported! Don't know if this is somehow related.

Seems like an oversight to me.
Does anyone know how to force AFUDOS to flash to an older Bios? I've tried the /n and the /pbnc switches but AFUDOS won't let me revert back to Bios 0701! I've used the following syntax: afudos /iP5WDH701.ROM /n /pbnc
Of course, I typed the above at a DOS prompt after booting PC-DOS from a floppy. Any suggestions?
I have 701 and it says the same thing. And yeah, weird... I realized at the last minute that there was nothing to be pissed about since my USB drive is FAT anyway. But it sucks for those using external(/internal?) HDDs for the BIOS file.Quote:

I figured this one out. You have to use an older version of AFUDOS in order for it to allow flashing to an older Bios. I flashed back to 0701 using v.2.00 of AFUDOS which I got from the ASUS ftp site. With Bios 0901, I was getting some random temperature warnings in pcprobe and Ai Booster, as well as incorrect fsb and cpu speed readings. Consider 0901 to be a very beta Bios. after bios flashing, restart , set a vcore, enter into OS, shutdown pc.
cut off powersupply.
then... restart and enter bios. you will have vcore option Always available.

I constantly have x10 and the option of change multiplier in BIOS is inaccessible.

NICKE - You cannot to change Vcore with some ES B0 Conroes ... only with very old BIOS, but not in newer, this function is blocked by Asus. My Conroe B1 and B2 works great...
P.S. This is not BETA BIOS but poor Alpha version, dont bother to flash it , wait for official 801 ...

you will find them under the CPU configuration, where you change the cpu multiplier and such.
they make the cpu throttle to a lower clock rate and lower the voltages.
i did notice on one of the older bios's if you had those two things on the cpu voltages would only do auto.
I got a E6600 Stepping 5 B1, and I got everything except Microcode update disable in CPU Configuration. Just a question here, is the 1:2 multi working as it should on this board? Tried with 4:5 or something to get 512mhz 4-4-4 stable but couldn't, now I changed to 1:2 and running 32M 534mhz 4-4-4 at lower volt. Really odd.
Seems to be for me as cpuz reports the memory is @ 1:2 in windows.Quote:
