looks not bad, bot not really good at the moment;)

There is a new BIOS out from Asus that lets this board go over 400MHz FSB isn't there? I thought i saw someone post about it. I hope so because i just ordered one from eWiz.com for $209 + shipping.

it can be just over 400+ mhz boot from bios setting no prob;)
I am on the friend's home so I can't post. but I have confidence that p5b dx's Memory performance might be better than p5wdh a bit.
also you gotta understand how to tweak the memset 965 a little bit;)

for those who use TG ddr2, the settings memset 965 can be looked like this;)
no tweak yet, fresh install of windows xp..
general setting with 400fsb 1:1

I can't either, but I can pass 10+ hours for dual sp2004 with real tight timing;)
Problems are:

1.Memtest 86+ is not even support any newer chipset
2. I can't trust memtest any more

whats the retail price suppose to be ?

and lets compare that to my non tweaked (because i can not go any tighter with this ram., its just cheap ddr667) Gigabyte DS3 that is $145 Retail.
Singel video card solution.

Sorry OPB i am in love with this board. best freakin conroe board i have seen yet. (aside from maybe the badaxe, but for $145,,,, this is the clear winner)
so i post this whenever i can to show people their cheaper alternative.

Im not sure why this timing is 14.5 sec. i usually always get 14.3 sec. but thats not really a big deal.

14.3s is the soso 1m timing I will assume for that 3.6g conroe,
yet talking about the tweaking, if I set some main feautures under registry memory management settings, I am positive I can get 14.1 or even 14.0 for sure;)

Lestat, what is the max bootable fsb on the DS3? How is the board treating you? Any problems? I'm leaning towards this, might order oine tonight.

what vcore are you using @ 400 3-3-3-8 ?

btw, I ordered a P5B DX. Will compare with the Bad Axe, P5W, DS3 and probably MSI 975x this week

Tower 120 are hard to find:

Sunbeam will not be able to produce anymore of these heatsinks until the middle of august as apparently the machine that they use to make these heatsinks broke and they will not be operational again until August.

OPB i think can back me up on this thing.

the whole 400mhz FSB limitation is the fault of asus or anyone else, honestly its intels fault if you ask me.

if you take the cpu multi down to 8x and 7x you can crank the FSB clear the hell up to 500mhz. with 8x 475+ is possible.

i havent been able to do too much research into this as the conroe's and all these boards are new but the cpu multiplier is what is stopping the FSB from going above 400 and frankly i do not understand how or why thats possible.
i honestly can not see how the FSB is related to the cpu multiplier unless the chipsets are preprogrammed with some sort of conroe compliance about the cpu multi in relation to the fsb.

who knows but it is frustrating to say the least.

one thing i have not seen is anyone psoting the 6700 results with this baord the DS3/4/6 or the P5W DH boards.

didnt anyone get a 6700 ES from andre ?

Now I am showing you 9x, think about if you wanna do 10x and crack it up all the way over 4xx mhz, that's not even the air or water job;)
most likely 9x is pretty close already, I have no trouble to get it boot up@ 415mhz, that is the first experience I have never had on the other boards.
now 9x32m 32m running.

Fast for the price, but it's not keeping up with my P5W-DH....not at all actually (I'm running 4-4-4-10 [or looser to match Lestat's timings], not even touching 2ndary timings) :confused:

Not a single bit of tuning here either....and my FSB/memclock/timings are all worse than yours. :confused:

It looks like a good board, I've heard it thrives in 3D (well, single card obviously) but I really doubt 965 keeping up with 975 in raw speed and OCability, that's all.

JMicron will work, just make sure you put it into "Basic" mode in BIOS.

Even without tweaking the Pi times seem a bit on the slow side especially compared to the P5W... but OPB will fine tune it for sure... :)

Speaking of the Scythe Ninja, I plan on using it with this board too.

Do you need to buy a tube of thermal grease? This is the first time I will have used a non-stock HSF and I don't exactly know how it all works. I just need to know if I should order some thermal paste with my Ninja; thanks.

I would pick up one of the small 3.5g tubes of AS5 for cheap and that will last you a while.
