sucks for people that bought early, lol
149 for a 3800? holy :banana::banana::banana::banana:
Right on the money. That would be why.
$149 for X2 3800+. Wow this baby is killing man.
the 7/24 prices are lower than previously reported
so, how many more threads will we have about this? I counted 87 just today.
Well, i think its working. I maybe adding an x2 3800 again... just becasue it so damn cheap. I mean, i'll probably still get a conroe, but i think i'll put it off for a cew months til prices stablize.Quote:

They've done it again.... a 5000+ for 280, I will buy one for sure!
~Mike
Aaaaack! Sucks to have a 5000+ :poke: :(
not bad
i'm sure the 5000+ doesn't clock higher than the 3800+

It may. Plus 13x multi is a lot better for cold bug.Quote:

If AMD have a very good yeild, you think that they all get made into 5000's or FX's while they can't supply chips to the lower end of the market?;)
Assuming I get a job i've applied for, i think I'll get an AM2 setup... I'll be looking closely at DDR2 for the first time ever.
Im loving DDR2, I got OCZ's new VX2 line, its pretty nice.
~Mike
That is some competitive pricing by AMD - I guess it goes to show what competition does.
So wait the price cuts are for the AM2 based processors. That is freaking great!
Does anyone know whic processor will be the best priced in terms of price vs. performance? I'm leaning on the 5000+, but I may be wrong if like say the 4400+ beats it.
ok now im torn. I pre-ordered a conroe, but i think they're giving the option to cancel when they actually have them ready to ship. I acn get an x2 3800 for $150 and use the extra money saved from conroe to get a CF x1900 and good clocking SLI board to go with my gskill HZ, or i sell off my stuff and go all conroe, but i'm sure the prices will drop significantly on the cpu' and boards, and still we dont have a solid board that can consitently give good results... I'm so destraught :(
All i really care about is oblivion, and if i get the conroe, i can't go crossfire for a little bit. Also, i only play @ 1280x1024, but i would LOVE 60 fps constant :D
Well, I just hope in these amazing price drops...that amd isnt killing itself =(
but this is what we all have been waiting for a while from them...these crazy price drops...
I think it would have been in this area maybe if they slowly decreased prices like what normally happens.. but the last year or so all these processors have been the same exact price lol! so this is just a crazy drop. cuz they havent gone down slowly.
AMD X2 3800 @ £94.95 +VAT
AMD X2 4200 @ £119.95 +VAT
AMD X2 4600 @ £149.95 +VAT
For socket 939 processors.

:)
Damn...A budget build X2 5000 sounds like its in my future.....
so this is going down on monday? Awesome I might pick up a x2 5000
Killer pricing. I'm looking at the 4200+. My mobo needs the 11X for a chance for 3ghz.
I smell a 4200+ in my future. I mean, that ought to be the best bet for me to get close to 3ghz.
Ryan
So, I guess I'm the only one who thinks prices won't go down til like the beginning of august? The x2 3800 was supposed to be $277 on the 15th, newegg stil has it at $297.
Yeah I saw that, but I think the cuts will start on the 24th.Quote:

but my question is: will the prices stay like that? or will they start to draw them back up so a top end chip liek a 5000+ will be over $500 etc again come january 2007?
hahah thats funnyQuote:

I think we will start to see low end quad cores running at about 500 dollars.
~Mike
I wont want to pay more then $1200 for a processor, but I think that they wont be that much more expenisve as current dual cores on release.Quote:

wow i just realize my cost of ram will be just as much as a x2 5000

YES, monday the prices will be :slapass: into submissionQuote:

Wow... that changes everything. And I was thinking of getting a conroe... and AMD was done for. Now AMD is the better choice. Mostly because of the X2 3500+ EE's. So much energy savings... Ooooo. Looks like thats in my future. Dual core is all that matters.
I liek!
Sweet. This is more like the old days when AMD was a lot cheaper and almost as good as Intel. Who'da thunk it? Yep, I'm buying a Conroe... but I might go for an x2 3800 AM2 as well, seeing as I have the DDR2 for it. We win. :D
Im going directly for the AM2 5000+ EE, hold onto it for awhile until K8L comes out, then get K8L, or maybe even try out the first quad core. Im not sure.
but! I cant wait to get it.
~Mike
X2 5200 would have hurt E6600 sales for sure at same price tag of 5000+ :DQuote:

Not sure who you were talking to but my link was not prebuilt.....Quote:

Well then it's still a great price for a 5000+... Although I don't do pre-orders on anything as it always looks like an invatation to get screwed... :)Quote:

Nokteknic's link. I thought Monarch might charge a price premium for the prebuilt systems.Quote:

This Asus is really nice, Pretty well setup too. I don't like the heat pipes tho. Only down side, when it gets hot, it gets hot.

they invented a fan for that :fact:Quote:

X2 4600 - £176.12incl VAT.
And if your a member of HEXUS.net , you can get free delivery too !
Glad I waited :D
I knew this would happen. I'm already set-up on a Conroe compatible board though. These prices look very competitive (especially 3800 X2). The only thing is there appears to be more overclocking headroom in the Conroe chips than the AMDs.
I think the lower prices are on Monarch NOW...
X2-3800 $169
X2-4200 $189
If the 5000+ is greater than 282, then I might as well get a E6600. Better performance than a 5000+ by only a few dollars.
I'm on board for a 4200 or 4600, what do you guys think is the better deal 4200?
:stick:
holy crap!!! the prices are actually going in effect now! NICE!!!!
they arent as low as stated YET but check this out!

3800 X2 939 socket for 162$ FREAKING BEAUTIFUL!!!
I was skeptical on if the price drop was really gonna happen like this...this drastically and instant..looks like it has! yay!
3800 X2 AM2 .....158$
http://www.monarchcomputer.com/Merch...egory_Code=AM2
Here are the AM2 CPUs
http://www.monarchcomputer.com/Merch...egory_Code=AM2
I thought the procs were going to be a little bit cheaper.
Seems like Monarch is trying to make a few bucks, give it some time and i'm sure the prices will come down a couple of dollars more.
:toast:
Thats awesome. :woot:
for us canadians this is what i call good pricing.

Any sign of EE chips in Europe yet?
I'm wondering how long it will take the big brick & mortars to effect these price cuts, that is if they ever do at all..
