Unfortunately Im under NDA ;)

haha nice
i thought it was for real.....then i saw "insane" lol
woh... i think you should keep that on the d/l ;)
does intel even have a name now for their new 45nm chips?
Is it a kentsfield?
kentsfield is the noobish quad core, this is octal.
Intel's name for its quadcore chips will either be Tetro or Quadro. It should fit into its curren Duo naming convention.
i think Quad-ro is kentsfield. Tetro? I dunno about 5 cores. Theyve been doubling cores from 1 -> 2 -> 4 -> 8? Im going w/octo, though 8 cores in 1 does sound pretty dam weird. I guess 5 doesnt sound that bad :p:
only 8 cores?
was expecting a few more tbh. :D
I derived tetro from tetra, which I believe means 4 in greek.Quote:

How bout, it overclocks to 5Ghz on stock voltage! Drooling yet?
so when can u share benchies?
NDA ends 2008 :)
Cpu-z shot please.
so this thread is kinda useless lol
NDA, sorry ;)
lol!!! :stick: duh, sorry i was thinking of penta for some reason. tetra like tetrahedral duh. sorry about that.Quote:

I really doubt that Intel even has its 2008 micoarchitecture (the one after Conroe's architecture) working in its labs yet.Quote:

Are you saying you're sleeping with the CEO of Intel? Details please.Quote:

Here is a nice way of getting around the NDA, say its fake, lol
ok this might be fake

444 FSB with a bus speed of 1333?? 444 x 4 = 1776....strange.Quote:

Can you do a SS of that? The info on the proc can be blocked if that's a concern.Quote:

Congrats!
With those numbers I think your looking at a machine that will do close to 7000 a day on 2 cores..Very close to uOpt's quad 875 numbers.
bleh, i had disable all but one pair of core for super pi benching , which is under NDA btw ;)
Forgot that i had done that, didnt reboot.
Then multiply that 7000 number by 4..28K a day on rosy? :rofl:Quote:

You do realise that you have to run this for at least a day and see what it will actually pump out..:p:
i cant let it connect to rosetta, that would violate NDA ;)
 :slap: :p: ;)
no it wouldn't :rolleyes:Quote:

Not that we don't beleive you. Just the reverse, a normal curiousity to see a 8 core unit in action.Quote:

We're all adults here hopefully and no need to make up stories.
My curiousity is just to see what that beast would do in a day. Same question I asked when I saw the first conroe and woodcrest.
Another point, you already connected to Rosetta, just set your comps to hidden and that takes care of any concerns with an NDA..;)
So does this:Quote:

umm what the hell is going on?
Alright, well, before I lead you on anymore, it IS fake. I found this image and just HAD to use it. As the first replier said, I though the "insane" in place of "inside" was a dead give away.
hicookie made it absurdly obvious. you run pi for a very low number (ie 16k) and then photochop it to 1M. same checksum, same time, it'll validate; the validator doesnt ask for the number of digits, does it? one must just remember to put in the proper number of loops for 1M, which hicookie did not ;)
Yeah, and i thought my ES invisible keyboard is something:rolleyes: .
I feel some may feel cheated CompGeek, you should appologise to them for making them :slobber: over their (still) visible keyboards:D
And for those who :slobber: : next time check a dictionary on the word fake ;)
I agree, but I always assume that what is posted in the forum is provable fact. No, I'm not naive. I just assume that there is no reason to make things up or lie to one another.Quote:

AMD's next chip (ES) ;)
windows would only boot with 1 core enabled, and L2 cache is per-core.
stock clocks/volts :)
did you really take it as real damn it was fake all over that is why its here in wamps
only 17 loops mate;)Quote:

ah well, i like how the SSE3 and 4 turned out...
LOL! Lot of NDAs being pushed to the limit here - might as well skip Conroe. ;) :D
They're all fakes, screenshots are easy to fake, let's see the real chip:
here's an original photo of my Core Octo
I blanked out bits so Intel doesn't bite me

Unphotoshopped
I can't post benchies yet 'cause of NDA.
