hi!
what might be the better board for D805 overclocking and Conroe sometime later?
I havent seen the performance of one D805 in a 975xbx, but i've seen the good results of this processor in other Asus products, so IMO go for the Asus

While you can oc the intel board its not as user oc friendly as the asus board.
Asus P5WDH all the way...
Dont even risk buying an XBX !
I'm leaning to the P5WDH myself at this point. But leaning - still need to see some more testing :)
Asus P5W DH is my choice.
Asus P5W DH for me too :)
i||uSi0n^
Mine is on the road
Are the Asus P5W DH released already?
yep you can find some at
www.shop.selection.be
but I think they send to Europe ( but not UK AFAIR )
They still have 11 available at that time
What about the ATi RD600??
http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...d.php?t=101642
P5W DH over bad axe, P5WD2-E r1.03g over P5W DH for me. :) Too bad it wont hit the street as early as id like... :stick:
BadAxe for me, I think, because I need 3 PCI-E (at least 4x or up) slots and Asus P5WDH offers only two of those. Now only if I could find one for a little cheaper ....
I'm joining the bandwagon and waiting for my asus p5wdh too...
I actually like that remote and the wifi on the deluxe, so I'm going for that model...
can't wait 'till they are widely available...
My Asus P5WDH was attempted to be delivered today though I just got the card through the door
Even worse is I have to go and pick it up tonight when I have an bad axe delivery coming, you just know I will miss that when out Pffft ! :slap:
Yeah, I think I might choose this board because of its nice features you mentioned. Also, it has an SATA port that can be accessed (near the ethernet plugs) externally. That's awesome I think, :woot:Quote:

Keep the Asus definitely. We've seen enough of the Bad Axe and its inconsistent abilities ;)
Man, lucky you for having a choice! :DQuote:

I ordered mine from primustronix.de with reasonable price.
Hopig it will arrive soon.
Are all of you people trying to say that the Asus is a more stable platform than the Intel made one? Don't mind if I LOL a little.
Im a little worried about the bad axes blowing, also am I right in thinking it needs some had mods to get better overclocks than the Asus ?
well, i think i also gonna get the p5wdh, its a nice board
atm it has some bugs, but this should be no problem till conroe *i hope*
as we know, asus is working on the fixes, but the bios (from 25. june) is still not public, just for some "important":D guys:p:
I do not think they designed it with extreme overclocking in mind and all the voltage hack mods. If you keep it within it's design limits it will be reliable. If you are going for higher voltages on your memory (which is out of all memory specs so you cannot pin that on a mobo as the fault of memory blowing) then yes the Asus or DFI's will be more user friendly. You just haven't heard of blowing memory on them because nobody has them in mass quantities yet. Once people start running their ram way out of spec on them they too will burn out some memory, but like I said before it is not the mobos fault for you running memory with way more voltage than the memory is designed to handle.Quote:

It has a 24 pin and 4 pin 12v.I notice the bad axe needs a 8 pin 12v is this true?
will i need a new psu?
hard to say as i doubt anyone has tried it with a 4 pin connetor.
my friend is running two systems with x6800 with the antec neo 480 on intel975
Really,Quote:

The bad axe needs a 8 pin connector
There is a 24 pin main connector, an 8 pin 12v connector and a 4 pin regular molex plugin. Are you confusing the molex plug as a 4 pin 12 volt plugin? I plug all three in as recommended.
I have a 24 pin main connector and a 4 pin 12 v connector.The molex is easy to understand.Quote:

any thoughts?
Ok I see now, you are saying that your PSU does not have an eight pin 12volt plugin. I misunderstood and thought you were refering to the motherboard plugins.Quote:

I use a 680watt ChiefMax PSU that I bought brand new for $30.
40Amp 3.3v rail 50Amp 5v rail 36Amp 12v rail (single rail)
Go ahead and laugh but it works great. :D
can i plug the 4 pin 12v connector in the 8 pin slot?Quote:

Just get a Pentium D ready PSU that has the 8 pin connector. The mobo is worth more than the PSU so why take a chance with the wrong plug for the job.Quote:

ideally i want the infinity as the asus has loads of extras i wont use.
i could ask my friend (well, not him..his dad), but he's on vacation.
when they showed me their new comps, it was an antec neo running the computer. i'm assuming 4pin will work unless there is an 8pin version of the neo

So everyone is steering well clear of NV 590's
Main reason for me to buy P5W DH was that I scared if I buy Bad Axe it will/might die.
I agree bulldog, plus it seems like it will be a friendlier board to me (a noob overclocker).
Yep, solid stable board with good features.
I have the Asus and so far so good. Quality seems excellent although not tried with Conroe yet
Hmm, why do you think badaxe will or might die ?Quote:

Well, I've a Badaxe rev 301 on run for few months without a problem. It's running Pentium D 930 though.
Does anyone know if there is another version of the p5wdh that comes without the wi-fi ap?
P5WD2-E Prem by July 20....hopefullyQuote:
