600MHz CAS3 done with 6400C3s 2*1GB : WR !

I was just playing with some new sticks tonight, and I cranked up the volts a little bit, then I got this:

System specs:
Corsair 6400C3 2*1GB - actual vddr: 2.75V
Intel D975XBX 304 modded (vcore/vmch/vddr)
Conroe X6800ES
PCP850 SSI
Everything is aircooled, sticks with their stock heastespreaders and no fan :D

Be careful running too much memory voltage on the Bad Axe. A few people lost their boards and their RAM.

I honestly have the same feeling... The fact that all those huge low-latency memory OCs happen only on BadAxe (at what appears to be a certain combination of BIOS settings) makes me scratch my head a little, especially that I have the same DDR2 set here being tested on AM2.

Regardless, nice clocking there Tyrou :up: Corsair's 6400C3 is indeed great stuff!

Someone mentioned Everest, latency and BadAxe...

Numbers I've seen (just an example speed):

1066strap + 343FSB + 343RAM, 3-2-2-8 = 52.7ns / 258.2FPS LH
1333strap + 343FSB + 343RAM, 3-2-2-8 = 69.8ns / 244.8FPS LH
1333strap + 343FSB + 428RAM, 3-2-2-8 = 71.4ns / 247.0FPS LH

... which looks like it confirms that something is off when using at 1333 and RAM is not clocking as high as we have been seeing on those BadAxes :fact: I remember that VictorWang was saying something similar in his thread about 1100+ OC... That results were worse compared to 1066.

Thanks for posting that, macci! I just think that DDR2-1150 or DDR-1200 8-3-3-3.0 is not possible, especially with 2.5-2.7v, If at all... It's just way to high!

EDIT: If with the above combination we chose the 533 Ram config, the system works the Rams at LOWER frequency than the fsb....almost 5:4 (CPU:Ram).......

I'm 100% agree with you by saying that more than 550MHz cas3 won't be easy to reach.

If you set the strap on the Bad Axe to 1333MHz and memory to 667MHz, you should be running 1:1. But if you check CPU-Z, it says you're running 4:5. So either the BIOS is wrong or CPU-Z has a bug.

Don't know, but something is fishy on Bad Axe because people can only get the super memory speeds with 1333 strap.

Thanks George! I'm 100% sure it's the case as well in ALL of those below:

DDR2-1120 8-3-3-3.0, DDR2-1100 8-2-2-3.0, DDR2-1150 1-3-3-3.0, DDR2-1066 5-3-3-3.0

All on 975X BadAxe, Conroe and at which appears to be 1333 strap with 4:5 ratio...

Those results at CAS3 are way beyond anything else we've seen so far from new D9xxx and should sound an "alarm" already ;) Just a thought...
