Installing windows now, the BIOS overwhelmed me. HTT speeds and multis for the chipsets, 7 different drive strengths each with a few different levels, and options I've never even heard of :eek:

Odd... it always hangs at "detecting array" even with all forms of SATA and RAID disabled and I can't get it to boot to a CD.

This board looks really awesome! :toast:

Same question here. This K9N is so bad for volt reg it just turns off when I use >1.55v. Been watching this board for a while and since DFI is so slow to get anything on the market looks like this is the way to go.

Well voltages don't even read right in CPUZ, and ntune is whacky, saying my CPU is 51c when BIOS says 33c and heatsink is cool to the touch. I need to find read points on the board.

The SPP (black) chipset sink gets HOT! Even at stock. I put a fan over that ASAP.

"Link boost" setting of 250mhz MCP <-> SPP HT link does nothing for performance.

yup, both of the 0617 CPUs i've had (3200+ and 3500+) do 2.9GHz @ 1.55v give or take. that was on an M2N32 with a weak water setup but they did that on air too. keep the results coming, i should get to toy with one of these real soon.

Nice start! ddr820 was possible with the c3's with 3-3-3-5-1T and the right Dstrengths/ref clock...but higher than that usually require dropping ras to cas to 4 or using 2T cr. Not sure how the ballistix can due, but so far they look good. PM sent AFI.

37 sec from 3-3-3-8 1t to 4-4-4-12 2t is a big difference. Not sure if the 100mhz gain is enough to cover that. Might test tomorrow.

Now this is interesting. I tested 3-3-3-8 1t 363mhz vs 4-4-4-12 2t 483mhz at 2900mhz CPU speed in 8m and 3dmark and the results are quite surprising:

1.625v running flawlessly :) Almost had 2.95 through 8m but it crashed as the final loop started "not convergent in main" Doing 2932mhz now, probably my max on this heatsink.

Tight timings with 2T seems kind of useless. They can hold their own but only at 1t in pi. 3d is a slaughter. I have not been able to pass DDR820 @ 1T for the life of me. These sticks can't do over DDR1020 at 4-4-4-12 either and tras = 8 at ddr1000 gives me an insta lock.

Max HTT was around 350-360. This board is no HTT champ.

Still can't get over 2.95ghz... Tried 1.675 and 1.7v but it round errors half way through pi. Not sure what's up with that considering 2.95 is 100% 3d and 32m pi stable.

Same ram clocks down to 4-4-3-8 :D Working on tweaking 32m right now. CPU @ 2.85ghz 1.65v is loading 60C during the last few loops of 32m... No wonder I can't hit 3ghz.

Not a champ, but certainly not a looser.
350-360 is enough to OC any CPU to the limit with air/water.

I have run sandra at 306fsb with the foxconn, but not higher. I'll be doing some head to head comparisons with the Asus am2 board in the next week or two. If the Asus can run some mean timings at high fsb with no CB issues, it should beat these results easily.

Machinist problems I think is what he said.

For me, when I was benching 3d and trying to put am2 at the top of the orb, the Foxconn proved to be better. I had way more issues with the mem controller on the chip with that asus mobo when trying to run really tight timings(3-3-3-5-1T-12trc) + lowest die temps on the chip.
It's one thing to run SP sandra etc all day on air or chilled water with low cpu speed(33-3400mhz)..but as soon as you push the chip hard over 3600mhz for 3d or heavy load, especially one with a sh*t cold bug, the rules change. High fsb doesn't matter anymore at all. Only thing that matters is how tight you can get the ram/chipset timings at 210htt or lower:D

Same exact score I got at 2.85ghz 571mhz ram 4-4-3-5. Seems that 3d01 loves it's mem clocks...

Now I drop down to 4-4-3-5 and bring the TRRD back to 3 and start 32m. About half way through it round errors. I set TRAS=8 and it crashes after a few loops. At this point I couldn't even clockgen to 3ghz any more without setting back to 4-4-4-8 TRRD=4. Not sure if it was the board being quirky or the CPU getting to hot or what. I'll figure it out tomorrow I guess.

3050mhz = insta BSOD when running 1m :( Maybe with 1.7v+ I can get it. Loading around 45-47c now. This mount doesn't work all that well. Jason is hooking me up with an AM2 hold down plate for the mousepot so hopefully dice action by the end of next week.

Use some 3/8-1/2 inch for the bottom piece insulation. I was still able to use the blue slots and have tiny gap for air flow that way. No probs for me with with frost or condesation @-45c anyways. The bubble gum tim is trash :).

I cut the donut down to about 1/4" and it barly fits now. Got the insulation done, just waiting for a day when it's not humid and raining.

Yes it's a piece of 1/2" thick diving grade neoprene cut to fit around back plate, held down by 1/8" lexan. I'd rather have a 1/4" piece of lexan but all I had was this 1/8" piece.

I will be getting one of these in the near future along with a AMD AM2 X2 5000+ cpu.

yeah mate, did you do any runs? also, have you found a spot to measure vcore on the C51? i found vdimm and various other voltage reading spots but nothing i can reach outside my ghetto waterblock rig is giving me a vcore reading.

It's been 90F+ with 50% humidity for the past week so I haven't run. It's nice today but I have a cod2 match tonight and when you're playing for money you need to take it seriously, so no time to dice. Tomorrow if the weather holds.

Where's the VDIMM read point? I've been afraid to look since my hand isn't steady.

here is a photo with the two readings that i have found. the black writing is what is set in BIOS/nTune. the red reading from the leg is bang on with whatever is set. the green point is the leg on the hidden side and this is
higher than what is set but scales with vdimm voltage.
