Looks great, but why is a single instance of SPi good enough for Intels but 2 instances a must-have for AMDs? I still can't figure this out.

Why don't you use E6700? The multiplier is higher.....

No AMD's have individual 512k/1M cache

Conroe with 1 core running gets to use all 4MB or however much

So why not run 2 instances? Looks like they'd borrow and prefetch from eachothers cache anyway. Does a single instance get to use all of both cores? I'm trying to find the architectural reason for these SPi times. :)

No need, he is already running the ram at 4:5, he could push the CPU to 4.63Ghz if the cooling could handle it, and be running it at 1:1.

And i don't see why he should have to run two instances...he is going for pure speed after all. He already deals with the heat of two cores, so i can't really see a problem if just going for all out speed.

If he wants stability, then it's up to him how he runs it, but clearly 2xsuperpi is better.

I got FF on ABIT AS8 mobo from condensation.....Leave it today and try it tommorow.......Also remove the battery....

Board would be not a problem since it can be exchanged though.

conroe can only be supported by Intel 975xbx v304 or other 965 mobo available right now.

maybe you can try another LGA775 cpu on ur mobo to figure out wether the mobo is dead.

btw: a LGA775 chip is very strong :D

maybe water on ur mobo is the problem. leave the mobo one or two days till it 100% dry. then... try ag. ;)

well, board is completely dy already and battery also pulled up for 24 hours,
but just tried and same thing FF
however, onething I can make sure is that CPU got pretty warm.

I am so glad that the board is dead, which means at least my conroe is not dead ...
this time, I will do better insulation and get the conroe go under -100c for sure.

I will get extreme results for you guys when everything gets back
and I will have step by step intel bad axe how to waiting for the person who need it.
