I wonder what changes AMD made to the driver...
Please post some feedback on it asap...which one exactly you are downloading the one almost at the bottom?
I'm using this one:
http://www.amd.com/us-en/assets/cont...mdcpusetup.exe
For my AMD X2 4400+
I've installed it when I first saw the initial post and it has been running since then. I can't do much now because rosetta is running :x
I'm also curious what the changes are. They must have changed something since its a new version :)

I am afraid of breaking my current OC ...thats why I think Ill wait for some brave user :-)
Just updated and see no problem, don't know what the changes are but unlike MS, I don't think it will break anything.......
Any difference in benchmarks? Perhaps some dual core optimizations? Yes...I am very positive thinker ! :-)
installed, not a difference yet... someone bench before and after and see if there is a difference.
installed doesnt seem any different so far but I havent benched it yet
I will wait for feedback from you guys. I just got this CPU up from 2.76 to 2.84 for the first time when I got this DFI board. I am afraid I'll jinx myself. :p
nice.. how much vcore you using?Quote:

cool. There is one thing that confuses me, why the description says stuff like this:
They make it sound like the cool and quite thingy.Quote:
Allows the system to automatically adjust the CPU speed, voltage and power combination that match the instantaneous user performance need.
Yeah right! While you're waiting,,, how did you determine that?Quote:

That sounds scary, I'll wait and see if it screws anyone over...sorry, lol?Quote:

Vapor EDIT
Apart from it being 1.5MB smaller then the previous version I have no idea what the difference is...
I could have gained 20 points in 05 but that's also within error range..
Maybe this fixes the standby issues people were having....
Oh really, where's the screenie?Quote:

Probably added support for AM2 and Turion X2, my guess at least.
convinced me :DQuote:

I'm running Opty at 2.8ghz. Super Pi 1M 30.250 before driver install. 30.047 after install.
No problems here.
Just updated but havent seen any improvement really. Unfortunately I just realized I changed 1 mem timing yesterday that makes my current comparison unreliable so I am gonna test again with the exact timings and see what I get.
Regards
Do these get installed even if your not using Cool and Quiet
Yes, I don't use CnQ
can i use those on the opteron dual core ? or only for X2 ?
EDIT:
nvm i just downloaded it and installing now but gonna run everest before doing it
I've been running these now for a couple of hours without fail. No tests yet. I think rosetta is harsh enough to determine stability :)

u can use it for dc.

I think you guys are all crazy for expecting these to affect the performance. IMO. Probably for Windows to properly identify AM2 chips, or maybe for AM2 chips to support C&Q...
I think this driver will enable independent core management for new AM2/TurionX2 revisions, and/or is fixing small bugs as stated in http://www.dailytech.com/article.aspx?newsid=2426
:D
well i hope it lets me reach 40K :)
Not by a single point :rolleyes:Quote:

Well I have CNQ disabled and my voltage seems very erratic with the new driver. The range is 1.39 to 1.44!! And that's idling.
these just for DC chips?
Nice findQuote:

Do you have a boot.ini? Copy and paste what it contains.
Typing "fixboot" in the recovery console will rebuild your boot.ini
thanks problem fix... :) new noteped ( boot.ini) copy to driver C: fix :toast:Quote:

no probs or performance increase detected
Should this driver also be used with the hotfix??
These are just the Amd CnQ driver yea and the official X2 driver? It’s worthless for non X2s and it :banana::banana::banana:s up over clocking?
Since this is driver didnt improve anything at all and ive had a couple of stange lock ups that I never had before, I rather use the older driver so where can I get it from? Was it 1.2.2 or something like that. Perhaps I better just use system restore, dont you think?
Ive had no problem regarding this update. I uninstalled the previous one first (v1.2.2) then installed the new one.
Look below for my specs
