:D
Always good to have an eager co pilot when searching...good luck with the "F" batch....hope it works for you!!
Love your threads. You bring in the human side that many people forget to do.
Besides, your son is one of the cuter kids I've ever seen.
Nice to watch him slowly grow up.
you wanna give me one of those cpu's :D
Hope you find a gem! On a side note, that's the most robust looking stock intel HSF I've ever seen.
thanks for the nice pics and best of luck to you with the f's!
Interesting batch, such a whiny fan on the cooler on turbo other than that work great
Very cool, post up some results when you OC these :) More data on batch numbers is always cool.
Nidec makes a top end rotor. (look at the Gentle Typhoon!)
I would be a little concerned about the tight fin spacing though. Definitely a dust collector.
Of course no respected overclocker is going to use the stock cooler, right? Right???! :D
someone has way too much spare cash :P
Are there any actual reviews of Intel's Gulftown heatsink? It doesn't look to bad actually :)
http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...1&d=1270281316
Lucky you! :D
Yep, whoever said money doesnt buy you happiness was a fibber!!!!
I found the B batch to be better than the F by needing less vcore
Some of the sites reviewed the 980 cooler when they reviewed the 980.
Pretty good as far as stock coolers go but you can do better with the top end after market coolers.
This cooler had good cooling with the fan on high, seems like the fan on high was rather on the loud side if I remember right.
thx ;)
hehehe
many thx m8
M8 that cooler is not that bad :D
im uploading a video
980 at 4500MHz -> Wprime 1024 stable :D
:D
i love the new design
:D
for now i think the F is running pretty well, only 1.2v for 4Ghz on stock cooler
a very loud fan noise at full speed
thx Dave,
im am thankful for having a lovely wife and friends like you who supports me all the time :D
do you remember that pic from year and 3moths ago?Quote:

I saw your youtube vid also, very good!
Good pics mate  Looking forward to your results.
haha what only 2x 980X ? hope your F batches do better than the current F batch results out there :)
Nice you're raising 2 future great overclockers who'll know their stuff :D
Yes the stock cooler is the best Intel has come out with. Just saying! Still no match for the best aftermarket (VX/Mega etc.). Fan is loud but put a 480 in there and you'll never hear it when gaming. ;)
Batch looks good with voltage and speed however it would need a better test for stability. Try running 512MB LinX for 300 minutes. If it's error free that's good! Stock cooler should handle that due to the smaller size. If it stays under 90C on ALL mem for 5 hours that's outstanding. (or you live in a very cold room! ;) )
;)
hi Bart,
today will be a good day ,a bench day :D
the kids are learning fast George, the little one is always with me or Yoko when we are testing or buying something ;)
air stock will be a good challenge
,but not at 4500MHz ,not for LinX,
Vantage maybe ;)
wow rich man toys Haha i love it
sweet cant wait to see hwo you go....4.5 start looking good
your son grew fast and is really a cute little boy...not much longer before he starts to pour LN2 :D
sweet toys of course ,but im not rich :D
Hi Mate
this chip is really good,4800Mhz (all cores plus HT) with 1.5v, room temp at 26c
http://img532.imageshack.us/img532/7416/016ug.jpg
some video encoding at 4500Mhz
http://img255.imageshack.us/img255/4341/008me.jpg
well, its time to give some real action :D
thanks Dino ,i cant wait to teach him how to use LN2 and stuff heheheQuote:

wow, did santa forget to come to your house on dec 25th? :ROTF:
According to your youtube vid, 1.376v with full load for 4500mhz :yepp:
gotta love it
Hi Mojo, great to see 4.5Ghz with stock cooler..how are the temps!! no screen with Realtemp GT!
Edit..ok sorry..was to fast to react..i didn't see page 2 yet ;)
ジュニアでは、ふしだらねね? 3x5970は、で、ねを果たす行くご挨拶コリント
^^ what's with the hiragana?
the santa drooped all the gifts in the wrong place
near 80c at full load :(
:P
he is my good friend and i think he was talking something about soccer...
Ok guys lets try to explain the Tpower X58A issue, that Biostar will not boot under zero degrees but works great at sub zero, its a bios issue and they still working to fix that issue, but we can not wait for a long,we want some action and it must be now :D
cz the F batch seems to be a really great chip and of course i bought these things to have lots of fun..on sub zero ;)
the problem is start at positive temps and them droop them to subzero very quickly
so ,we will try to start at a high multiplier but must to be with an empty pot or with temps near at zero(under zero is a no boot) and them we will droop ln2 to get xtremely low temps
the Tpower will not start after any reboot ,so it will be a unic shoot ,a direct hit to 6Ghz or more :D
Hmm..6,0Ghz ,that would be close to Movieman's Chess result ;)
:D
boot at 36x145 temp at 5c vcore at 1.76v
5940mhz ,temp at -125c vcore at 1.76v
PcCI - wow excellent run and thanks for the nice pics!
What are you doing for insulation - looks nice and simple/minimal?

thx m8
no insulation :DQuote:

i was expecting a really short run ,a suicide run hahaha
how are you planning on feeding that kid with those spending habits? XD
PcCI - I see you are 18th in the PCM Vantage Hall of Fame and that with an x25-v? - http://www.futuremark.com/community/...pcmarkvantage/
Put a couple SSDs together - R0 - and do that run again - you would probably be in the top ten!
thanks Andrew :D
6Ghz is history bro,Ive reached 6400Mhz days ago with an ES :D
but i want to try on Tpower :D
with or without cold boot ;)
with love
;)
yes m8
im thinking about to run a serious raid and gte into top 10
btw ,nice Vantage score :D
congrats
the second looks promising
all air
TRUE + 102CFM
room temp at 23c
PcC, that looks really promising! I got my 3005F215 chip at home since a couple of days, it's about time to throw that in the mix I think.
I'm a bit concerned about the PWM area on my MSI X58M board though, with only some 7mm high aluminum heatsinks there I fear it's going to be toasty once I start to OC the Gulfie. It gets pretty already hot when I'm OC'ing my 920.
What is an approx OC for a Gulftown, compared to a 920 @ 4.22GHz, in terms of same powerdraw?
time for some A :D
two of them ;)
iam jelous lol :P goodluck hope you find out whats the best :)

Criminal: thanks :-). Yes, old Athlon still working, but now i have not PCI graphic card :-). Your "hardware home shop" is crazy :D
impressive results!
Out of curiosity, do you play frisbee with those Tpower boards? ;)
